22.01.2022 The Chaplaincy Building (131) will be closed for refurbishment from Monday 28th October. Access to the building is restricted. All prayer rooms have been relocated during this time. The Chaplaincy Building will be re-opened from Monday 9th December. ... During the Closure, the Chaplain can be found in Accessibility Services Office, in the Library (bld 18), ground floor, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Islamic Prayer Rooms are Temporarily Located in Building 29, room 001. A sink can be found inside, between the two prayer areas. Bathrooms are also located around the corner, just outside building 134. These rooms will be open from 7am to 9pm. If you need to contact someone please email [email protected] or if it is an emergency please contact Student Equity and Wellbeing on 4781 4711.

18.01.2022 Due to unforeseen circumstances for many of November's artists and the stresses of SWOTVAC for students, we have decided to change up the plan for tomorrow's OM...P. 17.01.2022 Physical faith community activities may not be happening right now, but that hasn't stopped JCU's faith groups from catching up online. Check out the various things happening each week! Even more online communities will be forming in the coming weeks, so keep your eyes peeled. If you're struggling to find a faith community to be part of, please contact the Chaplain at [email protected] for assistance. Current Community Activities:... Sundays anytime - Many religious organisations are putting their services and other materials online. Try searching for and connecting into a local faith community.

14.01.2022 In line with Covid-19 Government requirements, as of 12pm Monday 23rd March, all places of worship have been closed. The Chaplaincy Building (Townsville and Cairns) will therefore be closed until otherwise advised. The Chaplain is still available on Wednesdays and Fridays and can be contacted via email at [email protected]... Alternatively, you can call 4781 4711 to book a Zoom appointment with the Chaplain. Chaplaincy will continue to offer connections to faith groups and Chaplaincy services, via this Facebook page. Please keep an eye out for current activities and connection opportunities. 08.01.2022 If you're struggling financially, the JCU International Student Support Team has an incredible new initiative for those in need. Check out the introduction and guidelines below! "For those JCU students living off-campus or in Rotary International experiencing financial hardship (e.g. lost your job due to the COVID-19 pandemic), the JCU International Student Support Team has stocked a FREE food pantry to help you out a bit. The pantry is located in the JCU Security Safe Zone n...ext to the Student Centre. Security staff will be in the room 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We have cereal, rice, long life milk, almond milk, noodles, women's sanitary items, toothpaste, coffee, tea, tinned goods etc. This is an initiative of the International Student Support Team for JCU students living off-campus or in Rotary International (non-catered), funded by your Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and internal funding. Food items have also been donated by JCU Staff. We would like to make this food pantry available ONLY for students who are living OFF-CAMPUS or at Rotary International (non-catered). It is for those who are experiencing financial hardship especially due to the COVID-19 pandemic. GUIDELINES: 1. Please complete the visitor sheet on arrival 2. Limit of 6 items per person in a single visit 3. Maximum of 3 visits per week 4. Only one of each item to be taken unless signage states otherwise (e.g. do not take 4 toilet paper rolls) 5. Use the hand sanitizer before and after your visit 6. One person in the room at any given time 7. Bring your own bag 8. PLEASE TAKE ONLY WHAT YOU NEED Thank you for your cooperation"
