25.01.2022 Changing to the Golden Tyres, one down, one to go. Old tyre not looking great compared to the new one.
24.01.2022 Well here’s an update on the motor situation Cases and cylinder survived the detonation so there is a slight glimmer of hope the engine will be ready by Friday .. Tried to get swing arm bearings done but unfortunately we were supplied the wrong repair kit.... 6 days and counting down .. going to be an epic week and lots will have to go right to make the race..
23.01.2022 So it’s been a while in ISO been lots happening with a new workshop getting built And 222 took the chance to get some skills in on the dirt mound. ... Suffice to say he learnt a valuable lesson.. when you dig a hole on one side of a mound don’t ride into it from the other side .. He was fine ..
22.01.2022 Oh yeah .. I surprised myself .. smashed it out 30min run in ...
19.01.2022 Race 1 done 3 to go Boys did well on a pretty technical track .. (I hope they didn’t beat me ) It’s a timed race format like a rally so you’re racing the clock and all your laps are added together at the end
18.01.2022 Dad the Mechanic scores a present too
17.01.2022 Well it’s certainly going to come down to the wire .. I’ve been busy doing tyres and tubes and replacing a few components on the swing arm in anticipation of a positive outcome . Don’t ask me how I know it’s 50grams heavier .. it’s a total assumption
17.01.2022 If anyone would like a specific video done about part of JDR or our bikes just let us know thanks for looking
17.01.2022 So damage assessment on the 350 after I crashed out with a flat front tyre. I rode the last lap with a flat front which resulted in more offs and a bad time. So got home today to suss it all out ... Ordered new chain guides as I bent the rear guide .. onto the front tyre . I was expecting to find a stake through or a pinch flat . Stripped tube from rim .. here’s where it gets interesting.. When I undid the valve even though tube flat habit saw me remove the valve .. I noted it was not real tight. Removed tube and looked for the culprit nothing found I then reinstalled the valve and pumped it up as sometimes the valve stem rusts and leaks Nothing again ... Then I remembered .. after lap 3 I decided to drop a little air out as the track was getting powdery I used a stick in my haste . Looks like a bit of stick or dirt has stuck the valve open ever so slightly and laps 4 and 5 were on declining pressure .. by lap 6 I must have set off with it all but flat Moral of this story .. check your bike over in between races . Had I simply have checked the pressure I would have picked up it was flat .. pumped it up and would have come 2nd. It’s the little things that let you down in life Positive note though laps 4 and 5 were my best so my target pressure was something between 12psi I started with and flat LoL . Side note - michellene tubes I rode last lap with no air in the tube and somehow it survived intact. Thinking I’ll wear this for a day or 2 to remind me to check pressures between laps ...
16.01.2022 Big morning in the workshop Motor out Swing arm bearings out And bike stripped down ... Demitri is cleaning frame with a toothbrush
15.01.2022 Well race is over I told demitri it was up to him Now after my epic rebuild Well he delivered ... 222 - came 2nd
13.01.2022 Well after some great training .. things turned ugly for 222 .. ..
12.01.2022 RESULTS ARE IN ... round 3 results 222- got a 4th place on a tough day to get himself and bike through undamadged and get a 4th .. well done mate .. only 91seconds off 3rd in a 6 lap format.... Hack dad - I got a 3rd .. after all my last lap drama I was expecting lower in fact missed 2nd by under 1min.. my first 5 laps had created a decent buffer so the 6 or so minutes only cost me 1 place Really happy with the results all things considered
12.01.2022 Chain guides done .. don’t you love that new parts feeling
08.01.2022 Well here’s the new JDR workshop all finished .. and then we set off to Childers for some training
06.01.2022 Let’s get busy and get 222 back on the start line
06.01.2022 Round 3 today Was a hard day out. Plenty of Brocken bikes and riders. After 2 laps it was clear it was going to be a grind.. with 2 ambulances inbound .... Real proud of 222 for running a cool head and bringing himself and his bike to the finish line intact . Numbers not in yet but looks like about a 4-6th for 222. Was a big field and some quality riders. I was running 2nd in my class till a flat tyre on the last lap cost me 6mins So mid pack for both of us I’d say .. We are. Both sore and ready for bed. 6 laps at race pace for over 90mins total on the throttle. Time for sleep Demitri Demitriou
02.01.2022 after a strip down in the field the fall out is 222 going to have the engine removed at the JDR workshop and sent to MPE husqvarna for a rebuild
