13.01.2022 Some time ago there was some discussion regarding the badging on the side of the bonnets of Pointy Nose trucks, especially in relation to the 1962 models. I ca...me across this photo amongst some others this morning. To the best of my memory the "6 Cyl Willys" badge was only used on the 6-226 1962 models and perhaps some of 1963, however I am happy to be corrected on that. They were definitely not used on the 6-230 models. Attached is a photo from the Brisbane factory of a 1962 6-226 supplied to the RAAF. I wish I had some ID info. Also is a photo of the "Willys" badge used from the late 1950's and into the early 1960's, it was located behind the "4Wheel Drive" badge and the rear of the bonnet. This badge on Dad's 1960 6-226 had a light green background and the raised 'Willys" was the silver metal colour. Also attached is a factory photo of a 6-230 and the "Willys" badge is not fitted. I also think the rear "Willys" badge was not used with the "6 Cyl Willys" badges. The 6-226 Fire Engine shows the "4 Wheel Drive and Willys" badge. See more

11.01.2022 Everybody pissing and moaning about the price of rare OEM and NOS parts, this is where they end up, not some hacked up, cut up, or rusted up Jeep. And this will have no problem selling.

11.01.2022 New face-lift for the website www.jeepcity.com.au

09.01.2022 PROTOTYPE JEEP? NO, IT WAS JUST SQUEEKIE In 1942, William Mason, an iron works superintendent in Oakland, California, used newspaper photographs to create "Squeekie," his version of the Army's new wonder car, the "jeep." Although Mason built the 2-horsepower car for his son, Billy, his wife often used it for 'round-the-town grocery shopping during the days of gas rationing, since it got a thrifty 35 miles per gallon and rolled on unrationed, small sized implement tires. The little "jeep" was once stolen and abandoned in a farmer's field, and the U.S. Army was notified that one of their prototypes had been found. At the time, most civilians had never seen an actual "jeep," so the mistake was understandable.

07.01.2022 WILLYS JEEP (1950) Willys Jeeps were popular after World War II, and it made sense to build a Jeep utility wagon. Willys built the Jeep Station Wagon, Utility Wagon and Panel Delivery from 1946 through 1964 selling over 300,000 in the U.S. They were the first all-steel station wagons designed and built as a passenger vehicle. Some consider it the first sport utility vehicle. This 1950 relic was discovered in Texas. (Photos by Peter Hubbard)

07.01.2022 22 Foot of Wood. Located in the fittingly named town of Overland, Missouri near St. Louis is one of 60 Grand Wagoneer stretch limos ever made. And honestly, we're surprised there were that many to begin with. According to its description, it was originally built for duty in the state of Colorado shuttling skiers and snowboarders to and fro bro. It first served duty in the ski resort town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming for an outfit named Elite Transport. What a way to travel in Style.

03.01.2022 Time to go hunt Broncos! Jeep Wrangler 392 V8 Will Make Production As part of its efforts to deviate attention from the all-new Ford Bronco and to simultaneously remind the world "There's Only One," Jeep revealed the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept ahead of the Bronco's debut on Monday. Based on the Wrangler Unlimited, the concept is powered by the familiar 39...2 cubic inch 6.4-liter Hemi V8 rated at 450 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. But why is this only a concept? How hard can a production version really be? Turns out not very. Road and Track claims an anonymous Jeep source told them the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is heading to production at the Toledo, Ohio Wrangler manufacturing plant. The source added Jeep has so far built 30 V8-powered Wrangler prototypes, something that would never be done for some one-off concept. An official launch date still remains unknown, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it offered as a 2021 model. Jeep has to respond to the Bronco's arrival somehow, right? Another question is whether the production-spec model will also make the same power output as the concept. The source further claims that the Wrangler V8 will feature Fox internal-bypass racing shocks similar to those used on the Gladiator Mojave. The concept's lifted suspension with beadlock-capable wheels will carry over to the production model, as will all typical Rubicon trim goodies like steel bumpers and locking differentials. When asked about the source's claims, Jeep, not surprisingly, had no comment. Assuming a production version does proceed, and we can't see any reason why it wouldn't, the big question is how much will it cost? Both the Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator often surpass the $50k US or so mark because of buyers' desire to upgrade to higher trims and opt for additional add-ons. Jeep is fully aware of these typically high transaction prices and, combined with the V8, don't be surprised to see an MSRP hovering close to $60,000 US Heck, a Wrangler Rubicon EcoDiesel can cost about that. The allure of owning a V8-powered Wrangler will simply be too strong to resist.
