24.01.2022 David designed and fitted the new stern arch this week - which will be acting as dinghy davits (the thing that holds the little boat in the air) and a home for 700Watts of solar panels (might even let us use the microwave once in a while!). Thank you to Damien Leong for helping us fit the ‘dingleberry’ - a willing hand who can’t remember the sailing terminology any better than I can! We are finally all aboard Solo and no more living with one foot in a house! Cruising prep to follow...
08.01.2022 A glorious day on Moreton Bay, doing a shakedown sail and checking for issues. Hoisted the Code Zero which is a massive black downwind sail. Kids jumping in the bay scared me half to death but they’re all still here! Days until we leave for The Start of our trip, so much to do still. Have met some delightful fellow sailors at RQYS who have been fun and helpful. Joyous days for us all, and the kids can already taste the freedom!
05.01.2022 Installing Solar panels today... 700W should see us powered up. First boat on the row gets a lot of interest from passers-by, some help and plenty of stories! Love this life so much
