14.01.2022 If they cancel the rest of the school year, students would miss approx 6 months of education. Many people are concerned about students falling behind because of... this. Yes, they may fall behind when it comes to classroom education... BUT WHAT IF .... What if instead of falling behind", this group of kids are ADVANCED because of this? Hear me out. What if they have more empathy, they enjoy family connection, they can be more creative and entertain themselves, they love to read, they love to express themselves in writing. What if they enjoy the simple things, like their own backyard and sitting near a window in the quiet. What if they notice the birds and the dates the different flowers emerge, and the calming renewal of a gentle rain shower? What if this generation are the ones to learn to cook, organize their space, do their laundry, and keep a well run home? What if they learn to stretch a dollar and to live with less? What if they learn to plan shopping trips and meals at home. What if they learn the value of eating together as a family and finding the good to share in the small delights of the everyday? What if they are the ones to place great value on our teachers and educational professionals, librarians, public servants and the previously invisible essential support workers like truck drivers, grocers, cashiers, custodians, logistics, and health care workers and their supporting staff, just to name a few of the millions taking care of us right now while we are sheltered in place? What if among these children, a great leader emerges who had the benefit of a slower pace and a simpler life to truly learn what really matters in this life? What if they are AHEAD? 12.01.2022 The Victorian Premier has announced that public libraries can reopen from Monday 1 June. In anticipation of the announcement, Monash Public Library Service has ...been preparing well in advance to reopen and resume safe and limited service delivery and looks forward to reopening all branches from Monday 1 June. All branches will open from 10am-6pm Monday to Friday and 9am-4pm Saturdays except for Mulgrave which will open from 10am-5pm Tuesdays and 1.30pm-5pm Thursdays. Libraries will remain closed on Sundays until further notice. We are committed to reintroducing services safely and are implementing a number of strategies to resume essential services while meeting health and safety requirements. Libraries will limit the number of customers in the library at any one time dependent on the available space at each branch and numerous cleaning and preventative measures have been implemented. Initially there will be two main reasons to visit the library; to borrow items that have been reserved in advance (via phone or internet) or to use a public access computer. As we are staggering the reintroduction of library services, public access computers will not be available until Tuesday 9 June. Computer use will be limited to one 30 minute session per day. All customers will be required to provide their name and phone number for possible contact tracing. Each library will have a concierge who will greet you on arrival and provide all the assistance and direction to complete your visit. We are not yet able to deliver programs such as group classes and storytimes in our libraries but will continue to deliver programs online wherever possible. More information regarding specific details of service delivery will be made available shortly. We look forward to seeing you soon!

05.01.2022 IT’S REGISTRATION TIME! Hello Rovers families - the countdown is on! The time has come to start getting excited about playing footy in 2021. ... With the continuous easing of restrictions, we can start planning and looking ahead to a big year of footy! After our AGM last night, we are pleased to announce that our fees for the 2021 will be offered to all at the original early bird price of $195. As mentioned previously, this is largely due to the generosity and ongoing commitment of our families this year, and for that, we are grateful. Another offer we are pleased to continue in the coming season, is free registrations for all our under 8 and 9 players. This was initiated as part of our 50 year celebration and received enormous support from the community. Lets share this post and spread the word to all the little budding footballers around about this amazing offer! The post COVID registration process is a new one to clubs and we expect there may be some teething problems. At this stage, all members who rolled over their fees should find that when they complete their registration, they will only be required to pay the compulsory EFNL insurance fee of $18.00. Please make contact with our registrar Chelsea Bower at [email protected] if this isn’t the case. All those who donated or requested a refund should find the process the same as previous years. We will be opening the registration link in only 3 more days at 9:00am this Friday the 13th of November. This will be exclusive to existing members for 2 weeks and then open to the wider community. We have positions available at this stage in all age groups, so let’s work together to promote this fantastic club!
