25.01.2022 O U R // poor sunburnt country is suffering. I watch the devastating footage through streaming tears in disbelief at the heartache that so many of our fellow Aussies are having to face. Oh how I wish I could do more, but until then my heart and strength goes out everyone battling this horror. To those families who are displaced and wondering if they’ll have a home to return to, to those who are fronting the fire in an attempt to save their homes and to those who have left the...ir loved ones behind to fight for their houses while they seek safety with their kids.. your strength astounds me. To the communities that are feeding and sheltering the thousands of people seeking refuge, to the relatives and friends who are putting their lives on hold to take in their loved ones and to the strangers who are donating food, blankets, money and time .. you are magic, thank you. Finally, to the firefighters who are doing the job only fictional superheroes should have to endure, to the emergency services who are working more hours than a body should ever have to and to those families of first responders who are lying awake praying they’re loved ones will come home to them.. we are forever indebted to you and thank you for your miraculous service. As for what I can do when I can’t actually physically do much... I’ve created this digital print ‘Country road, take me home’. 09.01.2022 G O O D B Y E My sweet ones, it’s time. Tonight we close our virtual doors and I’m both elated and devastated.... This little grid has brought me joy, connection, success. It’s given me a home. I’ve been blessed with incredible opportunities, made lifelong friendships, inspired myself and others in so many ways. I’m proud of myself and all that JEM has enabled me to achieve. I’ll miss it. Fuck, I’ll miss it terribly. Thank you to every single one of you - customers, clients and collaborators, reps, pod mates and biz babes. You’ve all touched me and my journey in some way and I will forever be grateful. I’m a different person thanks to this wonderful community, it has knitted together my life as a mother in more ways than I’ll ever be able to show appreciation for.
