24.01.2022 Hello everybody, We hope you are all doing ok <3 We are so grateful to you all for being such a loving and kind community during this time and we feel held by ...all the loving messages of support. We are doing our best to keep the school going in Richard's honour, understandably we are still in shock and processing exactly how we will be moving forward. Thank you for your patience and understanding, right now it is one step at a time. The studio at Knutsford St is currently closed and not open for retail business till further notice. Classes will be starting again this week at The Brush Factory, 36 Duke St, East Fremantle or if you have chosen online with our wonderful teachers. Your teacher has tried to make contact to arrange times. We are also utilising a booking calendar which is sent via email. Please check your emails for any communication. Letty has tried to contact all of Richard’s students, to assign one of our teachers for the remainder of the term. Please contact us if we have missed you by any chance. The school was at the heart of Richard's life and he would want all of the students to continue their love of music through their lessons at Penny Lane's. He loved you all so much and you were all like a big extended family to him. We appreciate that many people want to reach out to Cathy and Penny, but request that some privacy during this difficult time is reserved. She works so hard just to breath and maintain good health given the side effects and the daily immunity challenges she faces. #Singing lessons are more than just a hobby for 12 year old Jordan. It’s her balance in life and her vehicle for joy and expression. I’m so proud of her invitation to entertain and her preparation for this performance for an audience who support Jordan as a variety scholarship recipient. Congratulations Jordan. 09.01.2022 Variety Heart Scholarship recipient, Jordie showed off her versatility in the musical, Shout: The Legend of The Wild One earlier this year, performing as a flyi...ng purple people eater and a swinging 60's star (pictured left in the blue polka dot skirt) in the same musical production. Jordie has an undeniable talent and love for musical theatre, which is growing with help from her 2020 Variety Heart Scholarship, which has enabled her to attend WAAPA's Rising Stars Youth course in Musical Theatre. While performances have been limited in recent times due to COVID-19 restrictions, there are more opportunities on the horizon for Jordie in the 2nd half of 2020, and we can't wait to see what role she'll master next. 02.01.2022 Thanks to funding from The Pirate Ship Foundation, Telethon Kids brain cancer researchers have developed a new tool that could improve outcomes for children with radiation-induced glioma, an aggressive secondary cancer caused by radiation therapy. We have never been able to properly study this form of cancer in the lab before, and now we hope to be able to give more answers so no child or their family has to go through this again, said Dr Raelene Endersby, co-head of the Brain Tumour Research team.
