25.01.2022 Amazing photos at the "Viva Cuba!" exhibition in the Lumas Gallery of Mayfair, London. The exhibition shows the decaying splendour of Cuba, brilliantly captured by German photographer Werner Pawlok, Italian photographer Luigi Visconti and American photograapher Larry Yust.

24.01.2022 Very envious of all those lucky people who are able to visit this fantastic show in Milan.

22.01.2022 Beautiful design can be found anywhere in the world. Take this example of amazing guesthouses built in the Potlova region of Ukraine, called Relax Park Verholy, Studio YOD. The gueshouses are perfectly camouflaged in the woods, with clever use of the morroring effect of the full-height windows. The walls are made of veneered oak, the interiors all have natural colours and simple and yet very comfortable elements to make to visitor enjoy their natural surroundings.

20.01.2022 "Before and after results" of a recent job in Mosman. A modern style house built about 25 years ago. Just shows how paint colours can bring the house into the current century, and makes it look like it was a recent build, and not a property built over 2 decades ago.

20.01.2022 Just beautiful, one of Designers Guild's most recent collections, Shanghai Garden fabric and wallpaper. Inspired by classical Chinese landscape painting and calligraphy. Printed on linens, cottons and a heavyweight silk, but also includes digital prints. See how you can combine contemporary with classical motifs. Designers Guild is available from Radford Furnishings, Paddington.

20.01.2022 Desigual's stand at Salone del mobile 2014, as always very colourful

18.01.2022 Nothing like adding a splash of colour to your dining room, or any other room of your house for that matter, with a beautiful piece of Dinosaur Designs hand-made resin, whether it be a bowl or dish, large or small.

16.01.2022 How to do minimalism with colour. Blue is not an easy colour to use in living areas, but if it leans more towards aquas or teals or even cobalt blues it can be more appealing. This interior was designed by an Italian company called Febal Casa and it shows how you can incorporate colour in a minimalist style, with the greys and whites of minimalism and a splash of colour. It doesn't have to be blue related, it could be fuscia or lime green, whatever colour gives you pleasure to look at every day.

15.01.2022 Very apt photo to share as we are in the middle of the winter Olympics. Amazing how some very creative people can re-use what might have ended up on a scrap heap. Probably not very practical though, more of a work of art.

14.01.2022 Copper is a big element in current design. Love this amazing copper coffee table, and the beautifully serene calacatta marble kitchen and bathroom of this pied-à-terre in Saint-Germain-des-Près Paris. Wouldn't we all love to own one of these.

13.01.2022 New on the design scene, Western Australian artist Sarmarie delighted us this week at the Decoration and Design trade show in Sydney with her beautiful artwork, the originals of which are reproduced onto canvas, alumalux, facemount acrylic, paper for framed art, fabric for cushions. Can even be made into kitchen splashbacks.

13.01.2022 Love the watermelon, pink and lilac colour combinations used in this renovation done by Agaligo Studio at the Let's Sea Hua Hin Al Fresco Resort in Thailand. The bright colours really stand out against the backdrop of the waters of the nearby gulf.

13.01.2022 Very interesting pendant by Yellow Diva called the Firmament Pendant available at Cafe Culture+insitu, with laser-cut stars depicting the night sky. You can choose from the northern hemisphere as seen from London or the southern hemisphere as seen from Melbourne. You can choose to have the constellation names hand-engraved or not. Would make a very interesting talking piece over a dining table.

12.01.2022 Bridget Bodenham, potter from Daylesford Victoria http://bridgetbodenhamceramics.bigcartel.com/ I came across her work at the recent Finders Keepers market in Sydney. She uses stoneware, porcelain and clays to create cups, spoons, plates, and some jewellery. With occasional additions of gold, and lovely handpainted indigo stripes. Very quirky and delightful pieces to acquire one or 2 of.

12.01.2022 First it was the designer butcher shop, now it's the designer baker shop (have you noticed them popping up all over the place). Some amazing examples from around the world: Pany y Pasteles in Madrid, Praktik Bakery in Barcelona, Blé Bakery in Thessaloniki Greece (with the world's largest wood oven, 12m tall), and Baker D. Chirico in Melbourne (purely selling bread only).

12.01.2022 Beautiful colour combo from Dinosaur Designs - pink (fuscia) and orange are one of my favourite colour combinations.

11.01.2022 Bedheads as an artpiece. An interesting way to incorporate art and bedding into one. You can use the colours in the bedhead to decorate with loose cushions, rugs, throws, and co-ordintate with lighting, simple seating, small accessories. Bedheads from mexsii.com. Stockists in Queensland, NSW, Victoria and WA. 6 designs + 4 kids designs.

09.01.2022 If red is your favourite colour, maybe you will like this. From the current issue of Belle magazine (Feb/March).

07.01.2022 Put some colour into your celebrations this festive season, be inspired by colourful destinations around the world

04.01.2022 Berlin apartment by architect Gisbert Pöppler is a masterpiece in design. It showcases the classic architecture of the apartment with a generally subdued colour palette and the occasional bright accents. The vibrantly coloured items of mid-century modern classic furniture create an amazing visual effect. The white woodwork is a perfect choice to contrast with both the subtle paint colours and the very colourful furniture - even the colourful spines of the books on the shelves add to the colour palette. A great inspiration to all colour lovers in the design industry!

01.01.2022 How amazing is this design, by Michaelis Boyd, at the Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge, in the Okavango Delta of Botswana. The design of the building was inspired by the form of an armadillo. The natural wood tones, both interior and exterior, blend so perfectly with the environment. An special place to enjoy the wildlife of Africa, and experience, in a luxurious way, the magic of Africa.
