15.01.2022 Being a parent is hard isn’t it? The highs, the lows. The deepest feeling of wanting to protect them yet wanting to let them go! Traumatic experiences force you to dig deep. They are teaching moments. Teaching them and teaching us. This experience taught me the importance of unconditional support. What do your experiences teach you?

04.01.2022 SHIFT YOUR ATTENTION TO YOUR PREFERRED LIFE!

02.01.2022 Are you easily offended? Do you defend and justify your position no matter what? I believe it is good to be challenged. I agree with Jordan Peterson when he says, In order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive. He also maintains that there is an element in good-will that people should assume so as not to blatantly offend. In order to maintain goodwill, you must be able to listen to the other person. I think this is vital in the current climate. He goes on ...to say, when you have something important and vital to discuss, you will no doubt offend at least one person. You can’t say anything important without offending someone. Black Lives Matter is just one example of this. In order to hold a deep discussion around this, you are inevitably challenged and possibly offended by the other’s view. So what is the answer? Do we just not talk about vital issues for fear of offending? Do we pull the ‘offensive’ card every time someone holds a differing view? Or do we listen, really listen to what is being said, instead of configuring our next argument while they hold the floor? We all have the right to our own view. Our view is shaped by our experiences and our context. It is when we are inflexible in our thinking that we risk shutting the other down. Just because we have believed something to be true or to be a certain way for a long time, does not mean it need always be that way. Just because we voted for a particular political party this year, does not mean we have to vote that way every year. In being challenged and by risking being offended, we actually learn to think more laterally and look at different perspectives which in turn creates a real depth in our thinking and our beliefs.
