24.01.2022 It’s time we realized death is part of life and this article articulates a way to bring this into living, love and connection.

23.01.2022 Grief does not follow a neat pattern it looks more like a crazy squiggle.

21.01.2022 Why have grief Counselling? Our culture wants those of you who are dealing with grief to hurry up and return to normal. The difficult thing is your normal has been destroyed and even thinking about joy can be an insult. The work I do as a Grief Counsellor is to allow you the time to grieve and heal something that can be difficult to negotiate in our culture. This healing journey can be long and hard and sometimes unbearable and so it is ok to enlist some help. Please re...ad this article by Candyce Ossefort Russell to help me explain. https://medium.com//resilience-a-new-grief-myth-that-can-h I believe that Grief Counselling helps to normalize the lengthy and messy path of grief. I believe Grief Counselling allows a space to talk about feeling crazy, ashamed, isolated and scared. I believe Grief Counselling allows you space to heal naturally without being forced to strive for joy. I dont think you ever recover from grief but I do believe you can heal from the scars of grief and those scars allow you to be stronger and more beautiful. I would be honored to be able to hold space for you to explore all these difficult emotions in this difficult, messy, crazy rollercoaster of a ride called Grief. Please contact me if someone you love has died and you would like me to listen to your story.

10.01.2022 I dont know where this photo came from but it shows what happens in grief perfectly. Your loved one dies , you shatter into a million pieces and then somehow you put yourself back together . When you put yourself back together you are different and still perfect. It can be very helpful to have someone to listen while you are searching for the best way to put yourself back together. If you would like me to listen please contact me via private message or my website www.brisbanegriefcounsellor.com

10.01.2022 We need to tell our story at least 100 times in the journey to healing. I would be honored to listen to your story.

09.01.2022 In the Lakota-Sioux tradition, a person who is grieving is considered most wakan, most holy. There's a sense that when someone is struck by the sudden lightning... of loss, he or she stands on the threshold of the spirit world. The prayers of those who grieve are considered especially strong, and it is proper to ask them for their help. You might recall what it's like to be with someone who has grieved deeply. The person has no layer of protection, nothing left to defend. The mystery is looking out through that person's eyes. For the time being, he or she has accepted the reality of loss and has stopped clinging to the past or grasping at the future. In the groundless openness of sorrow, there is a wholeness of presence and a deep natural wisdom. Tara Brach Art | Frank Howell, Lakota-Sioux Artist

07.01.2022 We all experience grief sometime in our lives. You can fight against your grief, you can drink alcohol or take drugs to deaden your grief or you can heal by moving toward the grief by mourning the loss and being an active participant in your grief journey. If you are an active participant in the mourning process it can open you to a journey filled with joy and love. I can help in this difficult journey. 04.01.2022 Learning that a moment in time is precious is a gift.

03.01.2022 When you are grieving you need to have people who will hold space for you.

03.01.2022 When Option A is no longer available. Great wisdom from Sheryl Sandberg.

02.01.2022 When you are grieving it can be difficult to see any joy in life. It is important to take time for self care. Even a small gesture such as picking a flower or stepping on the grass in bare feet can help to remind yourself that you are still living and that life is precious.

01.01.2022 Our culture is not comfortable with death. Some people can be very unhelpful. Here is a list of rights no one should try to take away from you.
