25.01.2022 Prince of Pods I traveled today to your home You welcomed for me with open arms No fresh flowers I didnt care More important that you were there.

24.01.2022 May can be turbulent as well as amazing.

24.01.2022 Ive recently returned from Borneo where l met with the founder of the Bornean Sun Bear conversation Centre. They have 46 orphaned bears that have had horrific lives before coming Ming to the centre. I saw there were 3 who will be released soon. There are many bears that are too traumatised to see the outside world. Thank you Dr Wong for letting me photograph and view the bears.

23.01.2022 Black and White Spider Awards I was fortunate to have had all images selected for an award in the 14th Annual Black and White Spider Awards, in Los Angeles yest...erday. The images were viewed by jurors that are acclaimed industry professionals from around the word. The real stars arent myself though, but the primate l photograph. As its been my aim for years to have them recognised internationally. The greater number of humans that see a primate, the more likely theyll think about them. And thats how l reach the goal towards my project. Id also like to congratulate other successful Australian AIPP Professional Photographers, as well as industry Professionals and the Amateur Category winners. Go Australia! We have some really brilliant photographers out there.

15.01.2022 Fandango My second persona image in a series which depicts a female in the 60s. The peace sign adornment is reminiscent of the Vietnam War Australia 1962 - 19...74. In 1956 Australia broadcasting introduced television. In the 60s if you could afford a TV youd have watched the nightly news at 6.30 and music of, Band Stand. In the 60s all TV programs were shown in black and white. I recall a TV series called the, Outer Limits and, The Deadly Earnest Show. Both were freaky and absolutely petrified me. The television presenter advised not to change the television set. It was a fear factor that kept me watching and afraid to sleep at night. It was the same fear that kept people watching during the broadcast scenes of the Vietnam War. Some families were glued to the box, it was reality TV and not fiction. The outcome was apparent in black and white. My time is reminiscent of, when we skipped the light fandango. 1967, A Whiter Shade Of Pale, Procol Harum Life was as ambiguous. 2013 Fandango, a self portrait by Jennifere Thompson (c)

14.01.2022 Wake up Call Yesterday l saw the movie the Lion King and the Mandrill character in the story touched my heart. Maybe its a wake up call for my Sunday. Time for me to organise photographic portraits for the project ICU TOO exhibition. I need to start thinking about names to call the images. Not everyone can identify a Siamang or Saki monkey. Ive framed 23 images for a wall that will probably accommodate 15. Ill be culling images, not the animals.

14.01.2022 The Veil, Siobhan Owen. My image is a photograph of Siobhan singing and playing harp at the Gameracha Medieval Festival, South Australia, May 2013. I followed... Siobhan's hypnotic soprano voice and could not resist asking her if I could take photographs while she performed her classical Celtic songs and ballads. Siobhan has travelled extensively touring Europe, and featured in hit shows. Her voice and harp playing are unique, spell bounding and unforgettable. Siobhan Owen has an official website with details of her international and Australia performances. See more

11.01.2022 Whenever l go to the beach l always wonder what lies beneath the water. The bristle worm was found on the sand today, swept up with the debris of the receding t...ide. Its by far not my favourite creature to look at. There were thousands of little spikes on the side of the worm which reminded me of a hairy caterpillar. The worm also acted defensive towards me. I only had an iPhone to capture the video and lm sure l got too close. Thus the reason l got spiked. See more

01.01.2022 The Grand-Furbies. Today the Grand-Furbies jumped into the pool. I didnt tell them that its almost winter and really too cold for swimming. The water was freezing but you can tell they recovered.

01.01.2022 My year to date has been busy. In April I went to Borneo to see once again the rescued Sun Bears at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. I was given permission from the founder of the centre to photograph the bears. With respect to the bears I photographed them in a way that l wouldnt upset them, as theyve all been traumatised before being rescued. Theyre sensitive to humans and easily frightened. There were approximately 46 bears housed, and I photographed about 6 ...of them outdoor. Theyre the lucky ones whove adapted well after being rescued. The bears have been taught new skills of climbing and hunting for food in the base of trees. The bears are also supplemented with food which helps them to maintain a healthy diet. I saw three bears being prepared for release. They wore tracking collars. Its a big deal being released. There are many bears that remain at the centre. They are so traumatised that theyll never be released. Theyve endured years of abuse when kept as pets and used for traditional medicine. Theyve been sold to humans by illegal trading. The BSBCC has done a wonderful job in helping the bears. See more
