16.01.2022 This little one only liked to sleep with her fists all up in her face. So we went with it, because it's so perfectly her. My son used to only sleep like this too, so it took me right back to those early days with him, where I would sit on the couch feeding him and just staring at him while he slept just like this. There is such a thing as 'perfect posing' in newborn photography, where we straighten fingers and align things *just so*. But in my studio, your baby is always gi...ven the space to be exactly who they are, and bend and move in ways they are comfortable, because it's actually those exact things you'll want to look back on and remember in 10 years time. 10.01.2022 Since starting the business, it has been my dream to have a few weeks off over Xmas to spend with my kids. 2020 has been INSANE, so I'm headed to the beach with my little fam for some very long overdue R&R. All print orders need to be submitted by Friday this week (28/11) if you want guaranteed pre Xmas delivery (the lab is very backlogged at this time of year), and by 7/12 at the latest to have them submitted before I leave for holidays. All digital image selections need t...o be submitted by the 5/12 at the latest for delivery prior to Xmas. Any babies born while I'm gone will be welcomed into the studio as soon as I'm back, but it's a good idea to contact me now to lock in your session if you're due over the Xmas period., as the first couple of weeks back will be hectic.

10.01.2022 What a rollercoaster huh! The studio will reopen 9am tomorrow, and will comply with new public health directions. Masks will be worn at all times except when in the actual photo being taken. ... Luckily, I have a lovely courtyard garden with seating, where you can sit for fresh air when needed. Only immediate family to attend sessions during this restricted period, and a few other conditions, which will be outlined in your pre session emails.

09.01.2022 If in doubt - wear a mask. At 6pm, Monday 11 January face masks are mandatory in certain premises in Greater Brisbane. If you are in an impacted area or have ...been in an impacted area at any time since 7am 2 January, you must carry a face mask with you at all times. You must wear a mask in indoor spaces, except in your home. For example: shopping centres, supermarkets, retail outlets and indoor markets hospitals and aged care facilities restaurants and cafes, except when you are eating or drinking churches and places of worship libraries indoor recreational facilities and gyms indoor workplaces (where you can't socially distance) airport terminals and on your flight public transport and when in taxis or rideshare vehicles. You must carry a face mask with you at all times when you leave home, unless you have a lawful reason not to. This is in case you require your face mask, for example, if you aren’t able to keep 1.5 metres distance from other people or enter a public indoor space. It is strongly recommended that you wear a face mask outdoors when you are unable to stay more than 1.5 metres from other people, such as transport stops, busy walkways and thoroughfares. Children under 12 years old and people affected by a medical condition or disability are exempt.

08.01.2022 EPIC week of shoots this week, because I was meant to be on holidays for the next two weeks. Border closures had other ideas, so I'll be here catching up on all my editing while watching over my two littles. Wanted to share this one because I feel like I'm forever showing the behind the scenes of me flower shopping and making the arrangements, but never showing the finished shots.

07.01.2022 This little lady wins the award for THE most alert and awake newborn I've ever met. She was practically trying to talk to me and crawl away LOL. So so beautiful. But we got some gorgeous images in the few seconds she dozed off for me. Doesn't she look like an angel.

Jess loves to keep things simple and I've been dying to do a white on white balloon garland for a while, so we decided on this theme and I LOVE IT!!!!

04.01.2022 IF...and this is a big if.... we found a way to do socially distanced, Covid friendly Xmas sessions with appropriate breaks for cleaning the props and high touch items between them... who would be keen? They’d need to be between 400-500 per session to make it financially feasible to have appropriate sanitation, enough clean props and breaks between clients and distancing etc. We could also incorporate a non themed family portrait option as a possibility again this year. I ha...ve a couple of new sets this year that I planned pre pandemic so it would be plenty of new stuff for repeat clients, and maybe an old fav for brand new clients who missed out last year (and I know judging by number of pleading emails there were a lot of you!) If you would be definitely keen could you pop me a PM or comment below so I can see numbers.

02.01.2022 When this Mum said she likes red I knew I'd have to do something with roses. Not going to lie, it took me a while to scatter all these petals *just right*. This family has come back to me again and again and again over the years, and I can't say how much it means to me to watch these families grow through my lens.

02.01.2022 Is there anything better than a baby in a bath?? Cake smash and birthday celebration shoots are booking fast for the rest of the year. With family holidays and lots of big parties mostly off the table, people seem to be investing in memories like these. And I couldn't approve more.

01.01.2022 I’m so aware that when you come into the studio, you’re no longer the same person you were when you booked the shoot when you were pregnant. Perhaps you’ve become a new Mum, or perhaps you’ve transitioned from being a Mum of one to a Mum of two and so on. But I do know that suddenly, acutely, your heart is outside your body, beating in the chest of this new tiny human. And I will take as much care with your precious baby as I would with my own. ... All of my sessions are baby led, and designed around keeping your baby safe, happy, comfortable and settled the whole time. I won’t push them into positions they’re not comfortable with, and I will never ever risk their safety just for a photo. Having worked with hundreds and hundreds of newborns over the years, I’ve got mad baby settling skills, so I can tell in an instant how sleepy they are, and what to do next with them to maximize your time in the studio and the variety in your session. No two sessions, or babies, or photos, are the same. They’re beautifully, wonderfully, perfectly unique to your baby. So while you as a parent are going through this time of change and transition, the little window of time that you’re in the studio is sacred, a time to relax and watch the magic of your baby’s first session unfold. I’ve got this. And you are totally welcome to follow me around the studio, because I know the tug that baby has on your heart
