24.01.2022 It was my pleasure to deliver a hamper to Ipswich East State School this morning which will be raffled to raise money for their P&C! This time of year is especially busy for school P&C’s, often organising multiple events and fundraising activities before the Christmas break. This school goes above and beyond for their students and I’m happy I could help support their work with this donation.

23.01.2022 Air-conditioning in every Ipswich school: Delivered Having aircon in classrooms is critical to keeping students comfortable while learning. Ipswich locals are all too familiar with the intense heat that summer can bring to our region, which is why delivering air-conditioning in every school was one of my top priorities when I was first elected.

21.01.2022 The Civic Plaza development was officially opened by the Ipswich City Council this morning! 02.01.2022 The ECQ has officially declared the seat of Ipswich and re-confirmed me as the elected representative. Thank you everyone for your ongoing support and belief in me. It has been an honour to represent you for the past five years and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue doing so for the next four years. I’d also like to thank my opponents for a hard-fought campaign. It is important that voices across the political spectrum are represented and your run played a big role in maintaining our democracy.

02.01.2022 Today marks the beginning of Zonta International’s 16 Days of Activism, as part of their ZONTA Says No to Violence Against Women campaign. On Monday night I attended the Zonta Club of Ipswich Inc meeting, where I learned of the tragic story behind this campaign. The Mirabal sisters, Patria, Minerva and María Teresa, were outspoken activists who were publicly opposed to the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo. ... Trujillo ran an oppressive regime in the Dominican Republic for 30 years, often executing those he felt were his enemies or had wronged him. The sisters were brutally assassinated in 1960 by Trujillo’s men. Their deaths sparked an uprising in the Dominican Republic which saw an end to Trujillo’s regime. Women should never be afraid to speak up because of the threat of violence or intimidation, and ZONTA’s ongoing activism ensures that the legacy of the Mirabal sisters’ lives on.

01.01.2022 The only way for Deb Frecklington and the LNP to get to their promised 4 year surplus is to cut jobs and services. We can't cut our way to recovery and we can't risk the LNP.
