25.01.2022 Thank you Alex and Elle for having me to host your wedding! I can’t think of anywhere else that I get to work with a team of the best in the wedding industry and at the same time they are enjoying themselves as well as being the guests of the night! :D It wasn’t an easy day for the couple (it was sunny and hot then all of a sudden hailed for like 20 mins when the wedding ceremony was supposed to start !) it wasn’t easy either for everyone involved but I get to see how the t...eam actioned immediately and worked swiftly to execute plan B for the couple.... and everyone’s still smiling, as we all wanted the best but nothing else for them! :) I personally love this gig so much because I got to see everyone (the team of videographers and photographers) in actions not only behind but this time, in front of the cameras! ! Guess who are these wedding industry elites? I’ll reveal in the later posts ! . . Stay tuned! . . . . . #melbourneweddings #multilingualmc #weddingmc #bilingual #mandarin #cantonese #english #chinesemc #bestofmelbourne #melbourneelite #bestphotographer #weddingphotographer #weddingvideographer #australianweddings #stunningwedding @ Leonda By The Yarra

21.01.2022 So much I’d love to host a wedding that will play this country wedding piece! [you may jump to 06:00 to listen to this piece composed by #alexlamotte for #twosetviolin ] https://youtu.be/D-x1vIxi7dU
20.01.2022 Wow speedy review - got this just a day after the wedding I hosted, I think that sums up our working relationship too thank you so much !!! Sallie and Ray are a couple clearly know what they want, always work efficiently because ... since they attended their friend’s wedding that I hosted just few months ago, they know they wanted me ! Bahahah if ever I can give reviews to brides and grooms I would give 10/10 to this super chill couple, totally immersed themselves in anyt...hing that happened, they are sensitive and make sharp decisions and they together can also take things as it comes ever so gracefully. Love it ! . . Yes I’m not gonna lie it’s one of the most challenging weddings I’ve ever managed :p I guess working under 45 degree heat almost constantly is the biggest challenge and in a historic building where I realised there are things I used to take it granted, but on that day I needed to think on my feet every minute to make things happen without. However I wouldn’t be able to get through the night without the supportive suppliers who were so kind to share extra workload due to extreme conditions and went extra miles for the couple, we were all in this together and we worked as a team. . . . I was well looked after by the caterer and been offered alcohol after the last formality and to pack the food for me for supper ... though they’re all gone by the time I went back to my seat! Meaning ... no food was wasted that night!!! Hahaha I honestly love this crowd that they treasured all the food on the table and made sure, excess food is taken home to minimise wastage. I reckon this should be encouraged within the wedding industry with respect to all food safety measures applied. . . Don’t worry I didn’t leave hungry because I was filled with joy after chatting to a lot of guests and industry insights as I got to talk to the experienced vendors who were so kind to share with me their experience! We exchanged our thoughts and how the wedding industries compare between Sydney and Melbourne! Once again thank you Sallie and Ray! It’s been my pleasure to be there with you and I look forward to coming back to Sydney soon! :)
19.01.2022 Even the the review was stylishly made: She: Gorgeous, fun, talented, trilingual, her voice is to die for and she genuinely cares for you. ‘If you don’t hire her, you’re an idiot’ ... Insert the Miranda Priestly’s voice here
19.01.2022 This, is the very moment reminds me of why I’m always giving my 110% to every couple I have the privilege to work with. The joy on their faces, beyond all languages and cultural barriers, under one sky. Multilingual + Multicultural weddings are possible and I’m called to prove to anyone who believes otherwise. :p ... No matter how much effort I need to put in, I just want the best for my couples and their beloved, at all cost ! This time I also get to work with other talents in the industry including @christinecivilcelebrant and @8weddings , the all-star team again ( it’s three of the best in ONE WEDDING!!!) Thank you Kevin and Mai #maiwedskevin for having me at your wedding! :) #melbournewedding #weddingmc #translator #weddings #interpreter #multilingualmc #trilingual #englishmc #chinesemc #mandarin #taiwanese #weddingplanner #weddingtips #askmehow #ilovemyjob #blessings #wedding #vineyard #winery #weddingdress #weddinginspiration
19.01.2022 I used to believe it’s hard to ‘see them again’ - when I thought I was just a wedding MC years ago and being an Asian I thought I should believe ‘it’s better not to expect they will be my returning customers ’ ... Linus and Kerry totally crushed my silly belief. I started working with this couple 1.5 years before their wedding. From stage planning through to creating surprises on their very day ... I was given a lot of creative freedom on every single detail. I must admit ...I was biased and I just love this couple so much I never counted how many hours I’ve spent on it. I was the planner, the MC, the performer and guest! I was treated really well, like I was one of their very good friends. I thought ‘that’s it’ - just like every wedding, I gave them my best wishes, then usually the couples would just ‘move on’ yet not for them - they kept coming back for more Since then I planned and hosted the wife’s birthday party / baby’s gender reveal party and very soon, the baby’s 100th day party! The date was set to be during covid and it’s been rescheduled for a few times due to restrictions. I really appreciate the couple - they chose to postpone rather than cancel. Sadly some suppliers due to the difficult time, couldn’t be with us on the day. I hope for the very best to their next endeavours and I would love to shout out to those who have been very accomodating and supportive to us. It’s been a tough year, for everyone. I was very excited and almost in disbelief, though challenging, to be able to bring on a party when everything was still uncertain. Yet all the suppliers I got to work with - you guys are amazing! Thank you for being so flexible, supportive, unconditional and understanding. I was so happy to see you all on the day! Seeing people smiling and celebrating has become a therapy to me. I’m glad I could be given this opportunity, before end of 2020, to mark a beautiful end to it. 2021 - I pray it will be the healing time for all of us. I want to see more smiles from everyone of you! Thank you everyone I’ve had the honour and pleasure to work with and I’d love to see you all again! 19.01.2022 Story part 4 - Stay Safe I always stay nearby the wedding venue where I’ll MC at for risk mitigation. This time I’m staying at the same hotel where the wedding reception will be because it must be THE SAFEST place to stay for this gig!! (if anything I just have to go downstairs!!) Luckily I made that conscious choice so I could fully dedicate myself to this wedding. ... On the same day of the wedding there’s also Mardi Gras where road block and parade would be happening. Any traffic conditions around the area or even, any local news I’d be alert to it just so I’m tuned in for any condition that I may need to respond to. People wonder why I’d fly in a day before the gig and what do I usually do? :) 1. Just so I know I can be prepared for the gig with allowance for myself to familiarise with the local traffic, conditions and if possible, venue inspection. 2. Get used to the local wine and food... I mean the weather and my own body conditioning ... 3. Get myself READY (I have a lot to do with myself the 12 hours before each wedding actually!!) to deliver my best the couple and their guests! Next, I’ll share with you what I usually do to prepare for a multilingual wedding MC gig! :) Stay tuned!! 18.01.2022 Such an honour to be invited to join this movement with all the professional wedding MCs around the world to celebrate the International Wedding MC Day! I started taking wedding MC gigs since 2013 yet I must admit only recently I begin to see the raising awareness of engaging a professional MC to host this very important day of many wedding couples and we all would love to see more! What gets me excited always is I’m still learning from couples, guests and vendors; every time... I get to talk to them I hear their feedback, I realise how each of them can see the same wedding differently and how important my role is indeed from each wedding I get to host! . . . For anyone who’s interested please go to my story achieve (reviews tab in my BIO) to watch their #instareview! :) . . . . #wearethemcs #weddingmc #australia #destinationwedding #multilingualmc #chinesemc #cantonesemc #englishmc #mandarinmc #weddings #ilovemyjob #humbledandblessed #mcthattravels See more
18.01.2022 I have worked with quite a lot of wedding DJs and who stand out to me as the best and most professional DJs are those who would come to me to discuss song lists for the couples. (warn you, there's been only a handful in the market...) Checking with the couples for their favourite is of course of prime priority but those DJs who would have gone those extra miles, are those who would ask me: ... 1. The couple, bridal party and their guests' demographic - profiling (This is very important for my preparation too, as it dictates how I should proportionate multiple languages - the kind of Chinese language or dialect I should use e.g. are they mainly Taiwanese Chinese, Malaysian Chinese, Hong Kongers Chinese or mainlander Chinese? Percentage of those who are monolingual? Which countries are they from?...etc) 2. To review the song selections with the DJs to ensure they are appropriate - are they the right language(s)? Is it a good version to play? Anything in the lyrics we should be aware of? 3. What other songs that they can play or when will be the best time to play in the run down to create those special moments for everyone at the wedding? So to all Asian/ cross-cultural wedding DJs out there, here is my favourite for your 2020/21 wedding song playlist: :) 2020-21 Jenny Cantonese & & C all Star / Mandarin - - COVER JJ Lin - - - - - - (Claire Kuo) - Korean CHEN()XPunch() Everytime Crush() Beautiful NOW.... Here is my ultimate favourite for 2020 !!! Jenny -- Shi Shi Someday or One Dayfeat. 831 (Medley) I can't wait for the covid-19 to end and look forward to planning & hosting more weddings for you all! 17.01.2022 I really love Payne and Lena’s wedding - the styling was on point reflects the couple’s personality so well - gracious, elegant with temperament. I immediately fell in love with the vibe not only because of the ambience but also the crowd! I’m still reminiscing those precious moments when the groom’s mother recognised me from previous weddings and events, she walked up to me a few times and grabbed my hands to tell me how much she enjoyed it; I also saw a lot of well respect...ed community leaders and even some famous radio hosts were there in the crowd ... my heart was pounding the whole night until they came to me and gave me the assurance that the night went well ... THEN... I could finally relax! How can I not be addicted to hosting weddings? 16.01.2022 Another wedding MC gig at Club One Hong Kong after years!! Fun things about Hong Kong weddings in case you wonder : you thought you could plan so much ahead but everything like literally EVERYTHING could surprise you and surprise you any minute! Just because Hong Kongers are very agile and open to risks - you are constantly thrown millions of opportunity you can make it miracles or ... if you can’t handle it well... hmm, you know there’s just no if! There’s no patience ...for imperfection though I love that intensity and interesting demands because they make you think on your feet and you can then create millions of possibility. I’m thankful for the couple giving me wild pass for making all decisions so they can just sit back and be, hopefully, amazed - I got to play with different stage effects including spotlights, surprise Karaoke , introduction of bride in a way I’ve never done before and that itself evolved for like 5 times before the entrance (thanks to the demands and inspirations from their relatives from Nanjing !) Oh and I had the pleasure to work with a co-MC (groom’s cousin) Henry which we literally had like 15 mins to work on the flow for the night. Don’t get me wrong I’m actually very happy, because I got to meet and work with amazing people! Well, how many ‘once in a life time’ that can happen in one’s life time? To me, it’s every time! @ Club ONE
15.01.2022 Let me unveil this magical, fairytale-like wedding with you all. Part 1: It’s a journey I’ve been most anticipated for - my first post-covid wedding that required cross-border travel ... Anyone can imagine how difficult yet blissful to be able to do this gig ever since Covid. Travelling for weddings which used to be my usual hashtag, it becomes an expedition of miracles. With many uncertainties and things just can’t be in our control, I prayed for God’s hand in this. I just asked for the best that can happen to this couple please. We discussed rationally all the possible scenarios - lockdown, border closures, venue change, date change ... etc and all the responsive plans that we can action on. At my best possibility I lined the best alternative - people and solution plans, I could only patiently wait for the right time to make the move. Once I got the green light from the bride and groom, I booked my flight tickets. My heart was pounding - will I get to fly on that day? [to be continued]

13.01.2022 What a wrap of my 2019! (Promise I’ll write more but I just can’t wait to share now) - Amazing couple with amazing crowd. It’s my very first experience that I get to work with professional wedding team in Hong Kong for a full gig - I first started the day with a full swing of team meetings with FOH and coordinators then work out the flow with lawyer and hosted the wedding ceremony with him plus reception at a non-conventional yet stunning venue that captured my heart - It’s s...uch a rare find in Hong Kong and I’m so glad I got to know such place exists! With almost 400 international and local guests attending the wedding I was so excited to be entrusted this mission - to create a relaxing, warm and unique atmosphere so guests from all age and background would feel welcomed and enjoy. Again, I love to be challenged and it’s so refreshing to be doing different things with different people in different countries! The crowd was awesome and little that I knew there were even celebrities who are seasoned singers/ actors/ TV hosts from Hong Kong attended the wedding! I was lucky I only had the star struck moments after I finished most of the formalities though their coming to me, giving me word of encouragement definitely made my day! What’s also exciting for me was the after party when I finally get to relax, drink and make friends with the couple and their closest friends - I’m thankful to be welcomed by them, making ‘working in Hong Kong’ all the more enjoyable ! . . . . #hongkongweddings #weddingmc #multilingual #cantonese #english #morethanjustweddingmc #weddingplanner #weddingcoordination #weddings #mcjennychiu #bilingual #weddingtranslator #interpreters #weddingstyle #weddingvenuehunting @ Hong Kong Jockey Club Beas River Country Club

10.01.2022 Story part 3 - I love my friends in Sydney! One thing I love about working in Sydney is that I got to catch up with my dear friends! I’m so blessed to be able to meet, albeit short notice, they’d try their best to spend time with me at all cost :) ... Just as I was casually talking about what I do to my friend’s boyfriend, just as I least expected, I got such genuine comment about why you should hire a wedding MC (he was asked to be the MC for his friend’s wedding...) and I was half crying half laughing as I listened to what he had to say ... Kudos to all wedding MC out there too!! P.s he added the next day: ‘don’t MC for free. Your food gets cold and drinks get warm Thank you Anthony @4nfonie !!!! it’s exactly why I wanted to be a professional MC and my goal is always - do a kick ass job so everything goes well and on time, then I get to enjoy the food while it’s still warm!!! #weddingmc #genuine #why #sydneyweddings #multilingual #weddingbanquet #weddingday #weddingdayready #weddingvenuemelbourne #weddinghost #weddingband #travel #australianwedding #ilovemyjob #blessings #ministry #love
10.01.2022 The moment I was approached to voice over for another health care/ medical products I was really super excited ! Thinking I totally won’t mind keeping this track record .... For some reasons I’ve been always asked to do VO for NEW and EXCITING medical inventions / services like new drugs for curing cancer, instruction on how to use palliative care medications ... This time I’m introducing #vfresh - a #silverion releasing zip bag that is antibacterial and deodorising! ...Perfect for storing our masks everywhere we go and other small items, even cash as it skills 99.99% germs and can get rid of the unpleasant odour ! This innovative application has been selling well in Hong Kong and they are ready to launch in Japan and Malaysia ! If you see this video from anywhere around the world, please let me know !! 08.01.2022 For Grant and Jieun, I believe, I’m destined to be their wedding host. On that very day I was asked by 4 other couples before them, though I had to reject all 5 of them because of my prior commitment. Few weeks after I sent out the apology for not being able to take up their booking, Grant gave me a call. We spoke for the longest that I could ever remember I had with any other couples (initial conversation) in the last 7 years, as he tried to convince me to host their weddi...ng. Honestly that never happened before - he spent 1 hour and 45 mins to prove to me how much he just really wanted me to be at their wedding, to perfect their most important day of their lives. I was thrilled. What made him think I’m that good as he described? After the phone call, I still seriously thought I wouldn’t be able to attend their wedding but I’d still give it a try to rearrange all my commitments on that day. I pray to God that I’d give myself a week, if everything goes smoothly and no one will be negatively affected by my taking this booking, I know then it’s all meant to be. Turned out all parties involved were fine with such decision. I excitedly and immediately put my head into the planning with the couple, learning Korean lines in such short period of time hoping to surprise the bride and their family came all the way from Korea, doing stage plan so the surprise singing by the groom’s mother would work the best that one could imagine ... I enjoyed every single detail and thought that I could pour out for this couple - because of their faith in me. My love and experience in performing art and radio broadcasting helped me a lot in preparation even in short notice. Hosting a wedding is just as exciting as acting in theatre; there’s no retake, no NGs - every wedding is a unique story and I’m thankful to be given a role or even roles in it. Sometimes I’ll be the director, light controller, script writer, actress, props designer, coolies/assistant, makeup artist ... Funnily I always get the most amount of script but least amount of screen time, sometimes even none! ! However, applauses, tears, laughters, smiles are the real things I’m after indeed. Thank you Grant and Jieun. It’s you two who perfected my day with you! @ Crown Casino & Hotel,Melbourne,Vic,Australia
07.01.2022 Recently I’ve been tagged in quite a few posts about encouraging one another during this difficult time - thank you for the thought of me and in many ways I’m reminded that it’s during the toughest times we will be strengthened, our visions sharpened and more grounded in our plans and missions. Wedding industry was one of those that were hit hard at the earlier stage due to the Coronavirus and a lot of us are seriously affected. While we don’t know yet what the future will... hold, I hope all who are in this will survive and we must survive together. During this period of time I’m very grateful to see most of my clients are still very positive and faithful, they decided to postpone instead of cancelling their weddings. I was especially touched by quite a lot of them expressed their concerns for us who are fully committed in wedding services. Some previous clients and suppliers sent me their love notes, checking in to see if I’m ok too. I also came across a client even decided to pay in full early - you know who you are - I never have expected, this but your warm gesture made a huge impact to me that once again you made me believe that my choice to commit in this industry was right. It’s been a fascinating journey ever since I have taken on this venture in the wedding industry. A lot of things just won’t happen in the world that is all about money, happen in the world of love. That’s why I’m always very curious about how people ‘got into this’ and I love hearing their stories. Each encounter with them I could remember vividly especially those with them we got to exchange our stories and with whom we shared the same belief - you lose track of how many hours you put into weddings, you just can’t when you are doing something so passionate in. It’s been in my project list for a while that is to share with you all my encounters with some of the best and most wonderful people I’ve met since I’ve become a wedding host/ planner. Stay tuned. I will share my stories in no particular order. Photo credit: @ethan_photographer

02.01.2022 To me, Covid- 19 has redefined ‘connection’. The wedding industry has been heavily impacted during this period of time yet through this my heart for creating the memorable experience for couples and their family and friends have grown into something even bigger ... A risk is a potential occurrence and it can be positive or negative. ... An opportunity is a possible action that can be taken. I took the opportunity and as I always want to do what I can to connect people, to bring out the best possibilities and potentials that human may create in any situations, in any form and shape; it is only better when we are CONNECTED TOGETHER. It was a concept turns into a collaborative experiential project. I was anxious, worried through to now I am excited and cannot wait to share with you all! May all who have faith in love - journey with us. Jenny Chiu Your multilingual wedding MC/ Wedding Planner/ trusted wedding industry partner xoxo
02.01.2022 Nanan StudioNancy Liu Guys, this is my first Facebook Live and I am very excited to have Nancy Liu from Nanan Studio to share with us how Covid-19 has brought her new perspective and inspirations, why did she start her own studio and what it means to her, over some delicious cultural delicacies.
02.01.2022 I wanted to thank this couple with a different kind of post this time, because I got to experience something slightly different and more than any jobs in the past. Kim & Daisy chose MELBOURNE for their destination wedding and it’s my pleasure to be hosting the wedding ceremony and reception. As they are both based in Hong Kong, I felt a strong sense of belonging, from the first video call we had, I knew I look forward to seeing them here. Managing different time zone throu...ghout planning became my second nature and making sure they have the best experience in Australia on their wedding date have been the motivation. I’d like to tell my fellow Hong Kongers from my hometown: Please come I want to see more of youz!! It was a beautiful day - Melbourne welcomed everyone, some had been in Australia for the first time with sunshine and 37 degree heat. Our photographer and videographer from Sydney @heyday_studio_aus did a fantastic job albeit the extreme condition I didn’t hear a word of complaint except they told me Sydney is better because there’s no nice beach in Melbourne ... @likethisband was so fun to work with and that genius full band set up! Love their music throughout the night! Had a great night working with everyone thanks @ido_planning and @stonesoftheyarravalley , thank you for fully supporting the whole day. I still remember I walked into the Barn for sound check and when I least expected, I was greeted by the lovely staff from the Stone - ‘Jenny how are you ?’ ... huh? they’d remember my name from last MC gig? I thought to myself. It made my job so much easier when the day started with such warm feeling streamed into my heart ! Just before I left, I was asked by the venue manager ‘are you not on our preferred supplier list yet?’ - wow I humbly handed in my business card with both hands and bowed 45degree. the Asian gene in me just can’t hide this, I was truly humbled. That feeling is very different from when I was used to be in corporate. I wanted to say it out loud today because, it wasn’t an easy decision to give up stability but to give this a go to embrace the uncertainty, just because I really love what I do. @ Stones of the Yarra Valley
