20.01.2022 Our Committee met with the Jenolan Trust and senior management, where we briefed them on our concerns. We have written to the Trust asking for details of the Expressions of Interest for the privatization of Jenolan Caves, and also for details of the grant that brought the 'Hideous Wall; into existence.

18.01.2022 Our Committee met with the State Member for Strathfield, Charles Casuscelli , where we briefed him on our concerns about the lack of a Plan of Management for the Jenolan Caves and our concern about what seems to be a rush to privatise the caves.

18.01.2022 The Jenolan Environment Protection Committee is appalled to discover that more of the karst features at Jenolan Caves are being covered over by inappropriate development. Not satisfied with covering over the natural creeks, they have commenced building a truly hideous wall which covers over and detracts from the natural rock wall in the tourist precinct (see photo). They complain that they can’t make the caves pay and yet they waste money building something which detracts fr...om the very thing that attracts people to Jenolan a wonderful karst landscape. Meanwhile, the government refuses to approve a new Plan of Management to protect and properly manage the Jenolan Caves. The Jenolan Environment Protection Committee calls on the Minister for the Environment and Minister for Heritage, Robyn Parker, to order the immediate demolition of the wall. See more

17.01.2022 Our Committee met today with the State Member for Bathurst, Paul Toole where we briefed him on our concerns about the lack of a Plan of Management for the Jenolan Caves and our concern about what seems to be a rush to privatise the caves.

16.01.2022 An update on the Hideous Wall at Jenolan. Well this is the next stage of this wall. The curved nature of the wall is so out-of-touch with the karst environment that it beggars belief that anyone actually approved it - it looks like the sort of thing you would see in a tacky suburban churchyard. Jenolan management claim that it was the subject of a grant (we have asked for details) and they don't have the money to demolish it. Any volunteers out there? The Jenolan Environment Protection Committee calls on the Minister for the Environment and Minister for Heritage, Robyn Parker, to order the immediate demolition of the wall.

14.01.2022 The web site for "Jenolan Story" is http://jenolanstory.com/

14.01.2022 A new web site has popped up and is highly critical of the management of the Jenolan Caves. It is a "must read".

10.01.2022 Just posted a PDF of Chris Norton's analysis on our web site. Go to www.jepc.bookproduction.org and click on the tab at the top.

02.01.2022 I have just noticed some really hideous building work at Jenolan. Have a look at it on their facebook page http://www.facebook.com/JenolanCaves - does anyone know exactly where it is?
