13.01.2022 Important Update for the Blue Lake Project It has now been confirmed that on Monday, 13 July Jenolan Caves will start urgent works to restore flood-damaged Blue... Lake. The works will take around 3 5 weeks to finish. During this time, Jenolan Caves Road (5 Mile) will be closed from 6 AM to 6 PM Monday to Saturday from Duckmaloi Road through to the Grand Arch. Alternative access is via Edith Road from Oberon. Please note travel times from Sydney and the Blue Mountains will take about 30 to 40 minutes more. 12.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT On 5 June, we will reopen our hotel, Chisolms Restaurant and Caves Caf. While our caves will remain closed for a little while longer, we look... forward to welcoming back our overnight guests. There is plenty to do above-ground in our World Heritage listed precinct, from the charm of Caves House to the chance to see some of Australias most iconic or rare wildlife in their natural habitat. Our priority is always the safety of our guests, staff and other visitors. Due to COVID-19, we will be re-opening in a controlled and responsible way. 10.01.2022 To follow up our post from Wednesday we d firstly like to give our sincere thanks to all our fans and followers who have been so patient and supportive since N...ovember. Its been a rough time for the region with fire, flood and pandemic. In fact rough is an understatement. But for standing by us you have our deepest gratitude Secondly we would like to address the main concern raised regarding the Blue Lake Restoration project, the timing. It will start on Monday, 13 July 2020 and take from 3 to 5 weeks to complete. Wall of text alert We are undertaking urgent works to restore Blue Lake to its former pristine condition following the devastating floods in February this year. While we understand the inconvenience of starting the project during the holidays it is important we start now to avoid disturbing the Platypus breeding season later in the year. Unfortunately, the timing of the project has only recently been decided after extensive assessments. These were necessary to ensure the well-being of wildlife as well as to determine the scope of the works, which are significant. We do apologize for the inconvenience and can understand the frustration this may cause. We would like to encourage you however to not think of it as a delay in getting to Jenolan but rather an opportunity to explore the surrounding region. Caves House is a great base to explore the area including towns such as Oberon, Lithgow and Bathurst as well as other attractions such as Mayfield Gardens We have prepared an information pack on all the things to do and see around Jenolan Caves and our region, which we can send via email or provide to you on arrival. Chisholms Restaurant is also open and provides the perfect setting and delicious meals to relax with family and friends. 03.01.2022 SCHOOL HOLIDAY FUN AT MAYFIELD Mayfield has released details of its forthcoming school holiday program and we cannot wait to host lots of Mini Mayfielde...rs over the holidays. Of course, parents are also more than welcome to come and enjoy the full 65-hectare garden which will be open from 4 to 19 July. Here are the details: 1) Free Lunch for Kids From 6 to 10 July, Mayfield will serve free lunch to children aged 12 years and under with a Garden Entry ticket. Parents can also enjoy an adult version of our special Mayfield packed lunch by simply adding $10.00 to the price of an Adult Entry ticket.
