25.01.2022 Clearing and welcoming my new Shadowland Tarot deck. I had the deck placed over white sage and watched the smoke gently billowing around the cards while they were beautifully energised by gorgeous crystals: quite mesmerising... and then finally wrapped in silk. I felt like the quintessential hippie from my childhood and felt right at home with that. 18.01.2022 This little guy has been getting my attention especially this weekend. I had been gently spraying it with the hose to encourage him to move on and eventually just ignored it. However, this weekend I felt like Jiminy Cricket had moved in and I noticed the cauliflower plants Jiminy made a home in were not being eaten. I also noticed Jiminy was not camera shy. This morning I looked at Jiminy with new eyes and as a messenger... a totem. I noticed the cauliflower that was devel...oping in Jiminy’s home and looked overall at what this meant to me. Grasshopper (it’s not a cricket) is about success and taking a leap of faith outside our comfort zone. It can also mean about trying new things alone as large groups can destroy a harvest. grasshoppers go through a metamorphosis similar to a butterfly in that they develop the mechanism and ability to fly during their life development: they are not born with wings. 09.01.2022 This morning mindfully enjoying coffee on the deck as I usually do, and engrossed in the beauty of geraniums as the morning sunshine lit up the leaves and blooms, I decided to explore the meanings as my reading for today ... Coffee and geraniums recognised as a constant gratitude focus. I deliberately drew the cards from the nature oracle deck and noticed those meanings did not completely resonate with me. I have shared those meanings in the photos for you as they may well r...esonate with you. My reflections were in tune with the esoteric meanings: coffee definitely is a stimulant for me and helps me to engage in life with enthusiasm each day. Geraniums are encouraging me to be more reliable. For me that’s about putting the coffee to best use of maintaining regular exercise and fitness for my well-being... and perhaps being more consistent with some projects and practices. But most of all I just love the scent, colour and beauty of geraniums. I love how easily they grow and that all these plants I have are from cuttings I have cultivated. When I plant them I am consciously aware that I am continuing the life of a plant that may have been continued for hundreds or even thousands of years from anywhere on this planet. I notice that nurturing and care helps the plants to self actualise. Choosing a nurturing environment is important to becoming our best self. The best environment can only provide the fertile ground. We choose to thrive or not. Sometimes it’s a challenge to know what choices are beneficial. Like cultivating a plant, it can be trial and error. One card fell out face up so this card is for you today. #Strength How can you integrate and express all aspects of your true nature today, and in moving forward: introvert and extrovert; composure without over-moderating your energetic expression? Strength is about expressing power as an empowered force that contains persistence, resilience, wisdom, all with care.... Be mindful of any urge of impatient or aggressive energy, or the quashing of energy which would create apathy and laziness. A word on #laziness , #apathy , #boredom , and #procrastination : they are all symptomatic of holding ourselves back from expressing some form of movement. Often the underlying cause is fear based. 07.01.2022 Developing my #intuition and reading layouts today. This reading was inspired by @monicabodirsky and her Shadow Work (can’t wait to receive my new #Shadowland deck ), and a layout by @erikarob2 using a #Lenormand deck. This layout really resonates with me right now. The #Tarot cards at the top depict my shadow #hierophant reversed and the solution to working with this shadow was 9 swords reversed: an exercise done in Monica’s class on the weekend. The object of today’s readi...ng was to gain some clarification about the solution as I felt drawn to a pathway that I felt was not quite right. So while shuffling, first the Key card fell out: a perfect significator. Second the Rider fell out: placed at number 2 position, and then the Dog fell out placed at position 3. All three cards relevant as a foundation to my question and me trying to understand spiritual guidance. There has been so much synchronicity around this question of shadow recently, and actually for 45 years. So it’s an important question. Today I am sharing this as a demonstration of using systems as a foundation and then trusting your intuition and events to guide your personal process. Both are a gift. Just a short note about this reading... the Fox card pointing to the Key tells me my intuition is spot on. The column below the Fox tells me what is wrong. I hope you enjoy learning systems and also trusting your intuition. Pick teachers you resonate with and connect with your inner teacher. Another important note of my personal myth: I feel that St Ignatius of Loyola has been an important spiritual guide and teacher for at least 45 years and maybe longer. 05.01.2022 Last night I drew three cards to explore current transitions and conscious processing I’m working with: relating this to the new moon eclipse as well which is strongly focused in the 4th house/Cancer in my personal chart. (home, family, and intimate relationships, ancestry). My background is highly influenced by both psychotherapy and spirituality and I’m currently strongly drawn to Jung as well as some strong catholic figures (guides), and of course nature in all her glory. ... @monicabodirsky and #shadowlandtarot was a great tool I used to reflect last night about the transitions current for me. Letting go (of loss and lack consciousness) and welcoming back my aspirations for creativity, healthy relationships, work-life balance; come out of retreat, letting go of burdens I no longer need to carry so that I feel the freedom available to me; being mindful that I recognise reality and not get carried away in this transitional energy whilst holding a more youthful energy and perspective. I love the curiosity that comes with the Page of wands. Remaining curious throughout this process can ensure that enthusiasm does not promote reckless or impulsive behaviour. 03.01.2022 Last night I popped out at about 7 pm and the beautiful night sky looking east towards the ocean at Redcliffe was beautiful. There were two really bright objects in the sky that were captivating. I used my #SkyView app to identify Jupiter and Saturn cosying up together. I didn’t realise they could be seen with out a telescope. Check out the sky tonight if you’re interested. I love the meaning of these two: expansion tempered by wisdom and discipline is how I see it.
