Something that Australia offers is real opportunity for young families, something I know my partner is incredibly proud of is that we have designed, built and about to move into our very own home. ... Coming from London where we all seem to literally live on top of each other to down south in Margs and now Cowaramup, there is space and a thriving close knit community. 16.01.2022 Time to start sharing I feel, some of the art works I have had up in my home for some time now. Acrylic on canvas, simply playing with colour and light, reconnecting to the creator in me. It is so easy to get swept away with work and being busy 'do-ing' but given the opportunity what would we be spending our time doing? And yes it does seem to be 'spending' time as this time we do not get back. There is that moment and then a new one comes along, and again, and again. ... For me, it would be painting, drawing and surrounding myself with places and people that inspire me. That is not to say I am not at the moment, but instead, I simply forgot to pick up the tools of a paintbrush or a charcoal stick for some time.. so this post is just as much a reminder for me to remember and actively 'do' the things I love. Procrastinating on them will not give that pure joy and satisfaction as the act itself. To those eyes that do see the works I start to share, I hope if anything, they can be gentle reminders to remember what it is you love and what fills you with joy. 13.01.2022 So as some of you may know or not, my initial study out of school was not into a specialised trauma therapy, but instead I went through 4 years of art school. Beginning my journey at Oxford Brookes for an Art Foundation Diploma as a fine artist which changed direction into a field I had never even heard of.. I moved to the University Of Western England, Bristol to study Fashion. There I specialised in Fashion Communication. This was a 3 year BA Honours degree. This full moon... that just passed at the beginning of the month has had a real impact on my whole self, an opportunity to see what I can learn from and where I find myself still getting stuck. I am grateful to be a person who rarely gets unwell, but over these last couple days.. I have been hibernating to heal myself in my nest at home. During this time in my nest at home, instead of getting distracted with work, the garden, a cheeky day time movie, I have been welcoming myself out of procrastination and started paining again. It feels like being home, it feels like what I should have been doing for all these years in between university. After university I went straight into the fashion world, this was amazing but it did not fulfil my need to want to prolifically create. It was a top down approach from the head designer, you would be given a brief and get to go and run with it - that part was amazing.. but the strict refinement to fit with their brand rather than my own creative play - I found stunting. So, here I am.. getting back into it.
