18.01.2022 This cute little unit is getting a face lift We pruned back the Hebe and Rose's, then under a mass of running grass and Pigface we found some lovely Aloe Vera (with a baby) and a Round Leafed Naval-Wort. Cant wait to visit this property again soon

15.01.2022 **showcase** Companion Planting!! I am a strong believer in using the method of companion planting in my vegie patch, ie: giving your plants a bestie! My favourite is the Marigold. As well as stunning to look at, they are fantastic for attracting the "good bugs" such as ladybirds and hover flies etc, that prey on the "bad bugs". The Marigold can also be used to mask the scent of your vegetables, so that garden pests and predators are not welcome there. The vegies and plants will also benefit from these beauties if you mulch them back through the soil after they have grown, which can also result in protecting your plants against harmful nematodes. 09.01.2022 **SHOWCASE** We are BIG believers in mulching your garden vs weed mat!!! Not only does the mulch break down over time and compost your soil, but it helps retain moisture and makes it so darn easy to pull weeds! Weed mat is only good if you lay it over bare, weed free soil!! Any weed seeds that then land on top and grow, can only develope a shallow root system, but can also build it's roots and later penetrate through the smallest hole in the weed mat (or go through if it's poor quality) making it impossible to completely remove your weeds!! I mulched this bed 4 months ago, and the small amount of weeds that have come up are super fast to remove, roots and all!! A quick dig over helps the composted mulch mix in with the soil below

08.01.2022 Our last lawn mow for the year. This one took a brush cutter, whipper snip and two mows to get it back to a manageable stage. Now this cute family will be able to spend a little more time out the back (hopefully) Still a work in progress but a good first result, thank you for having us J&E

03.01.2022 Harvest Time !! We are so lucky to have moved to a property with established edible fruit and nut trees and other exciting finds like the Tasmanian Pepperberry!! These babies are so gorgeous, and I can't wait to dry them and start to use them at home. It's great to be able to educate our children on being able to grow what we eat, and teach them how to cook with our own fresh produce.
