25.01.2022 Less than a week to go! Great Location for an Easter Break, relax, fish and the opportunity to WIN some great Prizes. Where will you be this Easter?

24.01.2022 Jeparit Anglers Club Easter Fishing Competition 2019. With less than 4 weeks to go here is a timely reminder that the 2019 Easter Fishing Competition will be held in Jeparit on Saturday 20th, 2019. A great time to come along and view the addition of the new fishing pontoon and participate in a fantastic event over the Easter Long-Weekend.

24.01.2022 There appear to be many new laws that constituents are now asked to follow yet difficult to locate or find an authoritive source as to where these laws are being passed updated, reformed or gazetted. I have taken the time to check the https://www.legislation.vic.gov.au/ website and the only result found has been the Public Health and Wellbeing Act Amendment (Coronavirus) regulations 2020. Reviewing the https://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/about/how-a-law-is-made website provid...es detailed info on the HOW but not the location to view where/when it comes into force. Also, checking the Victorian Law Reform Commission (https://www.lawreform.vic.gov.au/all-projects) does not list any info on laws being passed as related to COVID-19, nor does the Department of Justice (https://www.justice.vic.gov.au/legislation). Reading through the Justice Connect Website How the Victorian Governments Emergency Restrictions on Coronavirus (COVID-19) work (https://justiceconnect.org.au//how-the-victorian-governme/) advises that during state of emergency, the Chief Health Officer is given broad powers to do whatever is necessary to eliminate or reduce a serious risk to public health from COVID-19 yet does not explain how this relates to matters like the Victorian Police and other non-health related authorities issuing fines. E.g April 6th, The Age article Police to review Fine, link https://tinyurl.com/r8xj3u7 yet under the Emergency Health directive stay at home direction, people may leave their home: to attend paid or voluntary work or education that cannot be done at home; somewhat leaving it ambiguous as to what is classed as education (example a driving lesson). At this stage, the Justice Connect website appears to be the better place to maintain a update on Official Laws and Policy as they relate to the State of Victoria. https://justiceconnect.org.au//how-the-victorian-governme/ Hope the information is useful.

24.01.2022 Fast approaching the Dimboola Fishing Classic. Loads of prizes and sure to be heaps of fun. :-)

23.01.2022 Congratulations to all the Winners & Grinners who attended the 2019 Jeparit Easter Fishing Competition. Fantastic to see so many prizes awarded to so many happy anglers on the day. :-) Hopefully you were one of them.

22.01.2022 Many thanks to all those who attended the Jeparit Anglers Club Christmas Fishing Competition and made it a fantastic social gathering. A warm day, but ample shade and drinks on hand with aircon at the clubhouse ensured everyone enjoyed themselves. This years first prize showed us female anglers are a force to be reckoned with and the lads have some work to do. :-)

22.01.2022 Great to see the support given by volunteers, local services and businesses for the 100th Nhill Air Show making it a fantastic event for young and old alike. Hope you enjoy my collection of hand held photographs of the event. *Note to self, bring a tripod next time. :-)

22.01.2022 As we fast approach the festive season, the Dimboola & Jeparit Town Committees came together with their plus one to celebrate a great year of events, successes and funding wins. The night also afforded us an opportunity to discuss how we can do more together in 2019.

19.01.2022 A Day to Reflect, & Remember the Spirit of Tradition and Sacrifice made by so many in our community and the many communities around the globe. Lest we forget!

17.01.2022 Living in Jeparit also means being close to many sites of historical signaficance. A quick drive to Serviceton to inspect the historic railway station was very enlightening. The station was unique in both its position on the border, having 3 stories and that all the brickworks came from Horsham for construction. So many items to be seen from a by-gone era along with a tour of the lowest level & the holding cells by our volunteer tour guide made the outing very memorable.

16.01.2022 Major funding annoucement. Senator Bridget McKenzie, Deputy Leader of the National Party, Candidate Anne Webster & Hindmarsh Shire Mayor Ron Ismay officially announce the funding for a 61km Bicycling & Walking Track to be constructed between Dimboola and Jeparit. Great news for our region. :-)

14.01.2022 Great opportunity to provide your input, ideas and comments to Hindmarsh Shire about matters of community interest. :-)

07.01.2022 Great to see the commencement of works for the new Fishing Pontoon in Jeparit this morning. VFA for providing the grant, HSC for their assistance, Wimmera CMA, GWM Water, DEWLP and the Barengi Gadjin for approving this wonderful new facility. 05.01.2022 I was fortunate last month to be interviewed by ABC Western Victoria on the new fishing pontoon in Jeparit. Many who missed the interview have asked to hear it so Ive put together the interview along with some great shots of Jeparit in the lead up to the Easter Fishing Competition.

05.01.2022 Another great jewell only a few hours drive away from Jeparit are the World Heritage listed Naracoorte Caves. Great facilities with passionate and helpful tour guides means all the family will find something to enjoy. Step back in time to marvel at the myriad stalactite formations and the skeletal remains of native animals that once roamed the land. Great camping facilities close by and excellent walking tracks. Open 7 days a week make it a great destination for the weekend getaway. :-)

04.01.2022 Save the date and enjoy the fun and merriment at the Jeparit Anglers Club Xmas Fishing Competition this Sunday. Bar will be open at the Clubhouse from 12.30pm. :-)
