20.01.2022 Time to get the racquets out! There’s still lots of work to be done before we take to the court, with the Association and Clubs working hard to put safe proce...dures in place. Stay in touch with your club for the latest information! We will be following State Government and DHHS directives, and Tennis Victoria’s Community Tennis Return to Play guidelines.

17.01.2022 STAY @ HOME TENNIS. Over the next 4 days, I am excited to share a series of fun & challenging Tennis Boxing drills that will not only get you fit in a small spa...ce - but will also introduce 24 of the fundamental Groundstroke Contact Moves!! Some great advantages of Tennis Boxing are: You get a great aerobic workout. You only need a small space (approx. 6ft x 6ft x 8ft). You don't need any equipment. It incorporates Split-Steps, Unit Turns and Recovery Steps similar to tennis. It synchronises the upper body and lower body together. You get a fantastic shoulder and core workout. You get lighter on your feet. The drills progress from the simplest to the most advanced. Each workout should take around 20 minutes: - 1. Start by shadowing each Contact Move in the drill, over and over, for 2 minutes until you feel comfortable with the Move. 2. Then combine the 7 Contact Moves in the drill repeating each move twice (as seen in the video) into a continuous drill and repeat. The total drill time should be around 2 minutes. The series starts with the RED LEVEL Pivoting Boxing Moves. Pivoting is when one or two-feet pivot after contact with the ball. 1. FH Low Step Down 2. BH Low Step Down 3. Run Around C-shape FH Low Step Down 4. FH High Step Down 5. BH High Step Down 6. FH 2 Foot Pivot 7. FH 1 Foot Pivot THIS WILL GET YOU FIT!! Tomorrow’s drill will be Orange Level Multi -Directional Hopping. Move Great, Play Great! 05.01.2022 Coaching update Tennis Victoria Recommendation to cease, temporarily, tennis activity in Victoria... To the Tennis Victoria Community; our Members, Clubs, Volunteers, Associations, Coaches and Venue Operators, With the continued escalation of social isolation measures in Victoria and following consultation with the tennis community and Government, Tennis Victoria is recommending that as soon as is practically possible for your club or coaching business: All tennis programmes and coaching be cancelled, including one on one coaching, until further notice All club, association and social play be cancelled until further notice All tennis clubs and centres close until further notice This decision has been incredibly difficult. We know our community loves our sport and that many people are looking for ways to remain fit and active whilst adhering to very strict social distancing guidelines. We are also acutely aware that this recommendation will impact the livelihood of our excellent tennis coaches. However, we are also clear that health and wellbeing must be our priority at this time. Tennis Victoria staff are working remotely to limit contact but are all still available to support you through this challenge: Information and resources to support coaches will be sent to all Tennis Australia Coach Members individually and our Coaching Leaders are available when required. Your Tennis Victoria representative is available for volunteers and we will remain in contact as we try and work our way through this together. The infection rates of this virus vary substantially across all states and territories and as such the recommendation to cease tennis activity temporarily is for Victoria only at this stage. Tennis Australia will continue to work with the state tennis bodies to ensure compliance with the different Federal and State Government recommendations. The current Community Tennis Guidelines for Continued Play are still relevant for all states and territories outside of Victoria. We are exploring all appropriate options for resuming tennis in a safe way when health officials deem it appropriate. This pandemic and these exceptional circumstances will pass and we want to work with our partners to ensure tennis is back bigger and better than ever. This is a challenging time for everyone, please stay home and stay safe. Kind regards Prof. Emma Sherry (President, Tennis Victoria) and Ruth Holdaway (Chief Executive, Tennis Victoria)

02.01.2022 When not on court playing we are required to wear a mask. This is a directive from the State Government and DHHS and applies to us all unless you have an exemption. We do not want to jeopardise our competition, so please follow the rules. Thank you
