21.01.2022 This image shows the powerful force a butane gas tank can have and the damage it can create, as it shot through the wall of this Jerilderie home in the southern... Riverina region of NSW. Our crews from Fire and Rescue NSW Station 336 Jerilderie attended the home on Sunday following a fire ball explosion, believed to have been caused from using a small gas butane can outside during a power outage. The fireball caused injuries to a female resident who was transported to Albury Base Hospital for treatment. Thankfully the gas can lodged in the wall and missed the nearby kitchen window, which may have caused further damage. We'd like to remind you to check all gas tanks for leaks before use, regardless of how small they are. Even small tanks can cause great damage. A simple way to check for leaks is to wipe the tank connections with soapy water and look out for bubbles that form, which may indicate a leak.
