18.01.2022 Dear Families Our industry leaders are now calling on the government to step in amid the COVID-19 crisis, stating that mass withdrawals of bookings are causing our sector to go to the brink of collapse. I have said we will stay open while schools are open and our staff are willing and able to work. Please know that I will do my absolute best to avoid closure of the centres that currently remain open. Of course, I cannot guarantee that beyond the immediate future, as the gover...nment seems to be ramping up lockdowns and forced business closures to protect us from this deadly virus. I have emailed parents imploring them to maintain their bookings in our system so I can at least keep claiming CCS for them. This money will all go towards paying wages. Some parents have agreed to this to support us. Please know how much that means to myself and my team. I also want to thank my amazing team of educators for sticking with it. Each day my wonderful people are putting themselves on the front line for your communities. The children we care for are from families where Mums and Dads are paramedics, nurses, police, in the food supply chain and other essential services. These are people that our towns need to keep working. That heroism cannot be understated. Please stay safe. Take care of yourselves and your little ones. Karen Director

16.01.2022 Just a reminder that our vacation care is kicking off on Monday. We are open all days except the public holiday. Our vacation care attracts Child Care Subsidy which significantly lowers the cost of care from $70 down to around $15-20. Please also ensure your bookings for Term 4 are up to date for before and after school care. Before school care operates 7am to 9am. After school care operates 3pm to 6pm. These sessions also attract CCS which significantly lowers before school ...care from $20 down to around $5 and after school care from $30 down to around $9. CCS differs based on each families own circumstances. Please check with Centrelink about your family entitlement. To enrol, go to: https://thrive.kidsxap.com.au/enrolmentform

14.01.2022 School holidays are just around the corner! We are now taking books for our fun program.

14.01.2022 Are there any parents in Jerilderie that have big boxes we can use for our cardboard construction next week? It would be much appreciated. If so, they can be dropped off at OSHC between 8am and 5:30pm Tuesday to Friday this week and next week.

12.01.2022 What a fun past 2 weeks we've had at Thrive OSHC Jerilderie. We've celebrated a birthday, made paper plate bees, got creative with rocks, had lots of outdoor fun, even leaning a new outdoor game called "Pacman". I'm sure the last week of the school holidays are going to be jam packed with lots fun and of course "learning" along the way.

10.01.2022 Our exciting winter vacation care program is ready. Enrol now!

08.01.2022 Some families have been enquiring about our vacation care operations in Corowa, Coleambally, Jerilderie and Coolamon. We have a number of families who are involved in the volunteer fire fighting and support effort and may be relying on us to open. We will be open every weekday where we have a booking for the weeks 6-10 January, 13-17 January and 20-24 January. We will also open on 28 and 29 January for pupil free days. Unfortunately we are not licensed to operate on weekends.... We are still short staffed in Tocumwal but working actively to fill vacancies there and will open ASAP. Stay safe.

08.01.2022 Families, here are some creative ideas to help you get started on a home-made gift for your educator http://bit.ly/2UtnIqt #EarlyChildhoodEducatorsDay #LoveMyECE

07.01.2022 Is anyone in need of an extra day of vacation care on Monday 29 April? It is a pupil free day for some schools. Please let us know via email if you would like to make a booking. Regular before and after school care resumes Tuesday 30 April 2019.

06.01.2022 You may have heard that a new Child Care support package was announced by the PM today. We have been severely shafted by his package. Only one of our staff members can access the job keeper package announced earlier this week. The rest are casuals who have been with me for less than 12 months. We were hoping that the PM would come up with something fair to enable us to stay open and pay staff. The CCS system has been scrapped. This is what we were using to claim 80-85% of fee...s for most families (most of our families are on maximum CCS due to financial circumstances). The PM has selected a fortnight in February and has said that instead of claiming CCS we now just get a standard payment of 50% of that fortnight’s revenue on an ongoing basis. This means we have to run the same service and pay the same staff with 50% of the money we used to receive. We will need to close as it will not be viable to remain open. We are just going through the logistics of the money we have in the bank to determine when. We are heartbroken to have to convey this to you all.

04.01.2022 An email has just been sent out to all families asking for expressions of interest for vacation care for families who NEED it and have no other choice. Please indicate the days you WILL send your child if we are open, so that we can determine if we can accommodate your needs given our very tight resources.

04.01.2022 We are hiring! We are looking for staff at our Jerilderie and Tocumwal services. Applicants will need to have, or be willing to obtain Mandatory Child Protection CHCPRT001, First Aid HLTAID001 and a NSW working with children check. To apply or register your interest, please email us at: [email protected]

03.01.2022 The NSW government has announced this morning a $10,000 small business grant for those businesses who have fallen through the cracks on other support opportunities. This definitely applies to us as we were left behind with ScoMo’s alleged childcare assistance package yesterday. He lied to families, indicating that the government was funding their childcare for the next six months for free. In reality he is just forcing operators to provide free services. The CCS system that... we used to claim around 85% of fees has been scrapped. We are required to stay open and not bill families in exchange for the government giving us just 50% the money they used to give us under CCS. Our wages bill is greater than this, let alone the cost of resources. Rest assured I will be trying to secure these NSW government funds to keep our centres open. This money will go some way to keeping our staff paid if we are able to get it.

01.01.2022 What a fun day for our furst day of vacation care at Jerilderie. The children had so much fun. We did football colouring pages, made a football bunting, made a banner for the children to run through. Had a football match, handball competition, and much more.
