25.01.2022 Thank you to all the parents that have already placed orders for the calico bags we have designed with the children! They are good quality bags we have had on display and the staff and children have worked together to come up with a design that represents our little centre. If you would like to place an order please message me on 0498351047 and I will put your order on the list. All orders are due November 11th! They make fantastic gifts for family and friends and at only $20 a bag they are definitely worth it! We look forward to hearing from you all. Payments can be made via eft to Jocca.

23.01.2022 We’re reopening!!! Monday 18th May will be our first day back for this term and we are all very excited! At this stage we do not have enough bookings for Wednesday and Friday so if you are wanting to book in please do so ASAP so we can reassess whether we open the full 3 days or whether we stagger our reopening to accommodate viability vs need for care. Thank you so much to all of you for your patience and support during this time. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me on 0498351047. Nadine.

23.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone. As the risks of COVID-19 have increased many of our families have chosen to remove their children from the service. We fully support all families decisions to self isolate however this has also meant we unfortunately do not have enough enrolments to keep the centre viable for the next short while. As at COB Friday 27th March we will be closing until 27th April when we can make a better more informed decision as to the ongoing risks to centre families and staff. Hopefully by then this virus has packed up and moved on and we can get back to business as usual. The committee, staff and I wish all of our families the best of health during this uncertain time. Thank you all for your continued business and support. Nadine.

21.01.2022 We urgently need your help! You may have noticed our damaged shade sails and due to recent winds they have seriously deteriorated putting our children at risk of injury if they give way. PLEASE we need at least 4 strong men Monday 3:50pm to help take them down. If you can volunteer your time please let us know!!!

20.01.2022 Don’t forget our AGM is tonight! 5:30pm at the hotel. We look forward to see you all there.

20.01.2022 JOCCA has been given a fantastic catering/fundraising opportunity! Next Monday the 21st of September FBG will be hosting a Salinity workshop in Jerramungup and have asked for us to cater, this will make us just short of $1000 if we can get everything donated! We are seeking donations of the following for morning tea and lunch that day to be dropped to the hall 5 morning tea dishes. Each to serve 30... 5 loaves of sandwiches mixed, cut into QTRS 3 packs of wraps -mixed fillings cut in halves 3 x 20lots of muffin size quiches If you are able to assist with making any of the above please let Naomi Hall or Megan Flett know by contacting us, commenting on the Facebook post or putting your name on the sheet that will be with the sign in book Wednesday. There are some gluten free requirements but as Naomi is coordinating the catering for the following day she will sort this for both days. Thanks in advance

17.01.2022 Reminder Jocca will be open from 10am to 4pm for all parents and children booked in tomorrow.

17.01.2022 Ever had a moment where you thought you had totally miffed something up and you were complemented instead? Today one of our wonderful children thought they’d destroyed their artwork after dropping it and it broke into two pieces. Instead we turned it into the best creation EVER by linking it to the story The Gingerbread Man and how he looked exactly like the little gingerbread man that was chomped by the fox.... Needless to say we had lots of fun hearing the story and making up stories about that one piece of artwork that may have just been tossed in the bin in another time... always look for the silver lining things are never as bad as they seem

16.01.2022 Good morning! I’m happy to announce that we have had enough interest and bookings to be able to reopen Fridays starting Friday June 5th. If you would like to book in please message me on the daycare mobile on 0498351047. Nadine.

16.01.2022 Good morning parents, we are currently assessing at what point the centre will reopen based on current restrictions and community response. I am anticipating reopening the centre beginning of week 3 of term dependant on how things are going, but I am seeking expressions of interest from our parents to assess our viability. If you are interested in care and are ready to utilise the centre again could you please let me know. If you anticipate using the centre again at a later date could you please let me know approximately when you would be looking to book in again also. This would help us make a more informed decision on when is best to reopen the centre. You can do this by either commenting on this post or by texting the daycare mobile on 0498351047. Thank you all for your patience and support, Nadine.

14.01.2022 We’ve been having a fantastic time playing with our new tractors and headers we received last week! Thank you so much to Naomi Hall and Farmers Centre for organising and donating these wonderful toys that fit our cultural program so well. The children LOVE them!

13.01.2022 Would love to see some new faces on the committee

12.01.2022 Reminder! Melbourne Cup day is next Tuesday please book ASAP to avoid disappointment.

12.01.2022 Good morning! Hopefully everyone is keeping well and healthy today. A lot of information has been shared with families of the centre over the last week or so on the virus currently affecting many Australians and visitors. I would like to take this opportunity to let you know what we are doing to protect the children, staff and families in the centre. We currently have hand sanitisers at each entrance of the building and encourage all families and children to utilise this upo...n entering and leaving. We also have hand sanitiser available for staff and children during the day however this is in short supply so if anyone in our community has a stash somewhere JOCCA would greatly appreciate any donations as we have been unable to source any from the chemist/shop. A daily educational program detailing hand washing and role modelling of hand washing by all staff is occurring. If your child has been in the centre in the last week they may have told you about the glitter germs! Daily deep cleans of the centre and the use of no rinse sanitisers throughout on all toys, books and surfaces is also now occurring. We are now following the infectious diseases cleaning schedule and are ensuring all surfaces are cleaned and sanitised each day. Cleaning also occurs before and after meal times as well as adhoc during the day. We are also implementing daily toy cleans with the children to highlight the importance of keeping our toys clean and safe for all. Whilst we do not intend to take temperatures upon arrival as some centres are doing we do ask parents to please NOT give your child Panadol or Nurofen before bringing them into care. If your child has a temperature PLEASE KEEP THEM AT HOME. Our policy has always stated that if your child has had a fever they must remain away from the centre for a minimum of 24 hours after the fever has gone. Now more than ever it is important that families follow this advice as our staff and families have other family members they go home to and some of these are very vulnerable to this virus. Please for the sake of our children and families do not bring your child in if they are sick. We intend to stay open until we are directed to close by the Education and Care Regulatory Unit, WA Health Dept or Dept of Education. We will advise all families if this occurs, however we do respect the choice of families to remove your children from care during this uncertain time. We will also not be opening during the school holidays in light of these events. For all important updates in relation to the virus please see the below links. All relevant information will be forwarded through to families as we receive it in the centre. We thank you all for your continued support of our fantastic centre. https://healthywa.wa.gov.au/coronavirus https://www.wa.gov.au/government/coronavirus-covid-19

11.01.2022 I have never been so happy to come home smelling of smoke... everyone enjoyed the stew and dumplings and we really hope it didn’t spoil anyone’s dinner but it was packed full of goodness

10.01.2022 Good afternoon parents. The Department of Communities is requesting all parents to complete our Customer Perception Survey, written by the department to enable an unbias view on the service for our funding. Centres are randomly selected each year and this year is our turn! The survey takes approx 5 minutes to complete and we would greatly appreciate everyone's input. All results will be delivered by the Department of Communities to JOCCA on 11th December. Please note the surv...ey closes Friday 6th December! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Jerramungup_Occasional_Child Thank you for your participation, Nadine.

10.01.2022 Good morning unfortunately we have not received enough bookings for next Wednesday 29th so will be closed. The centre will reopen for the year on Monday 3rd February. Bookings can be made by sms to the centre mobile on 0498351047.

09.01.2022 Good morning parents. If your children are struggling to understand some of the things changing in their lives at the moment then this video will help! Temperance has just watched it and said she didn’t know what social distancing meant so it has helped her understand why we are now at home also. I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

08.01.2022 Recently I applied for the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant and we have been successful! Look out for the additions to our yard soon to scaffold on our learning about waste management and sustainable practices in the centre, as well as looking after some of our friends we already have in the centre... our earthworms!
