25.01.2022 Your wonderful support has lead me to be a top 10 finalist in the 2018 Ausmumpreneur Making A Difference Business award. (cue the champers) BUT it is not over yet, round two voting is NOW OPEN but only for a few more days. Voting closes for good on Sunday 19th August. You are no longer voting for me to be a finalist, now you are voting for me to WIN! This is your opportunity to get this little Tassie chick all the way through to the end, The competition is tough, with all n...ominees worthy of this award, But how amazing would it be to see this former 16 and pregnant Tasmanian babe flying to the big smoke, all dolled up, walking the red carpet and standing on a stage among some of the most successful Australian Mums in business accepting such an incredible award? Can you picture it? Imagine the impact this could make for young mums worldwide, to see someone just like them succeed, someone just like them supported, someone just like them beating the odds, someone just like them smashing societal stereotypes. Like everything in life, I cannot do it alone, It takes a village and with that I need your help. By voting you are showing Young Mums everywhere that you see them, you hear them and you believe in them. You are standing up against the stereotype, because enough is enough. The age you become a mother does not define the rest of your life. To show your support simply; Head to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AUSMUM18 Select entry 44 - Jes Jackson Young Mums Unleashed in category 1 Making a Difference Business. You do not need to vote in every category, but if you wish to I can highly recommend voting for Amy McGlade Baby Bee Hummingbirds - YOUR BreastMilk & Keepsake Jeweller. ~ Customer Service Category. & Angela Gallo Angela Gallo - Doula, Educator, Trailblazer ~ Influencer Category Like & Comment on this post to keep it showing up in feeds and Share this post with your friends and family Tell them why you support the work I do or How the work I do has impacted you, maybe something I have said in a post has resonated, maybe you love my images Lets spread the message far and wide, because when we show a young mum that anything is possible, she begins to believe that anything is possible and then we are one step closer to smashing the stigma together for good. Thank you from the bottom of my very full and grateful heart Jes xxx
25.01.2022 Sharing a little about my experience as a Young Mum with PND & PTSD over on Young Mums Unleashed with Jes Jackson... P.S How amazing is this image my daughter Adella took, She tells me she wants to be a photographer when she grows up... but not just any photographer... She wants to be better than me... HAHA. Kids.
24.01.2022 Welcome to the world beautiful Wilkie. There is something so incredibly touching to be invited not only to the birth of one baby in the family, but to be invited back a second time. To witness Banjo, a baby I watched be born into this world, now find her role as a big sister and have the absolute honour to be trusted to document this moment is something I feel so blessed to do. It is all these little moments that are the ones I hold close to my heart and will treasure forever and I thank my lucky stars that I have been so so so fortunate to be able to call this my job for the last decade. Birth Photography doesnt always mean "crowning shots" Birth Photography is made up of all these fleeting moments, that are over in the blink of an eye or the opening and closing of my shutter.

23.01.2022 I am not going to lie... I think this is quite possibly one of the most unique photo requests I have ever had... but I absolutely LOVE the result!! 3 Adults, 1 Teen, 1 Child, 1 Newborn, 3 horses and 1 dog!! This is an example of the images I am creating for my project "Documenting Collinsvale" its all about documenting those who walk our streets, attend our school and share our town. Its a way of documenting our history during this unique period of time we find ourselves liv...Continue reading
23.01.2022 When Laura discovered she was pregnant just after her 20th birthday , she knew instantly she wanted nothing but the best for her baby. At the time Laura didnt know anyone that breastfed their babies, but she did know she wanted to do everything within her power to make sure her baby was healthy, Laura took the time during her pregnancy to research the pros and cons of breastfeeding and formula feeding and concluded that breastmilk would be the best decision for not only her... baby, but was the best decision for her own health and well-being. Breastfeeding however did not come easily, Laura received far more negative feedback than she ever could have anticipated. The first day she decided to venture out of the house with her newborn baby, she had a lady rip her baby from her breast mid feed!! Unfortunately even friends have shamed Laura for her breastfeeding journey saying its inappropriate and she shouldnt share her successful breastfeeding journey. Laura not only now feeds both her babies (Emilia 20months and Aila 1 month), she also has been able to provide her breastmilk to 10 other local babies in need. Laura has always wanted to help others and so she spends time building and maintaining her supply just so she can donate her milk to those struggling with supply as she really battled with her own supply during Emilias first year. Laura has never been one to be shy about her breastfeeding journey, she is incredibly proud of being able to exclusively sustain both her daughters and says it is one of her major highlights as a mother. Lauras story needs to be shared. It was such an honour to document and celebrate this amazing tandem feeding journey with Laura, an incredible Young Mama setting a wonderful example for her daughters, young mamas to follow and society as a whole.

20.01.2022 HOBART YOUNG MUMS I NEED YOU to come on board the Young Mums Unleashed project. I am working on a very exciting new project and am looking for Young Mums and Young Mums to be who would be happy to be photographed and have a chat with me about all their experiences as a young parent ~ the fab, the not so shabby and the down right ugly. It doesnt matter where you are at in your journey, if you are 12 weeks pregnant, 20 weeks pregnant, Are due any day now, Have a newborn, Todd...ler or Teen. I WANT YOU, to be apart of this with me!!!! This is an incredible opportunity to document the incredible woman that you are and a celebration of all you have overcome as well as an opportunity to share your story and be a part of this very important movement I am creating ~ A movement of free thinking, resilient, strong young mums who dont care for or even give thought to the stereotypes that seem only to exist to undermine our capabilities and possibilities. Please note you can be any age now BUT must have been under the age of 21 when you had your first baby :) Please feel free to share, tag, comment or message me for more info and while you are at it jump over to Young Mums Unleashed with Jes Jackson to stay updated!!
20.01.2022 Tonight is my last night as a twenty something year old, tomorrow when I wake I will be 30 years old! Eep I mean, I know it is inevitable, it cant be slowed... down, But my gosh 30 has really snuck up on me. So as I prepare to say a big bye bye to my 20s & a vibrant hello to my 30s, I cant help but reflect on the lessons I learned this last decade; Put your own oxygen mask on first We often sacrifice our own needs to please others, usually coming at a huge detriment to ourselves emotionally & physically. Practicing the act of self care enables us to maintain healthy relationships & serve others so much better too. You are worthy Remember You are enough, You are worthy of the positive things in your life! You never have to be more or less than anything other than you, Your past has perfectly shaped your future. You are worthy. Remove toxic people from your life Eliminating those who constantly bring you down, opens up the space for many more to come in. Stop wasting time on people who tear you down to make themselves feel better, prioritise those who prioritise you and you cant go wrong. There is no perfect time Our time on earth is short. Dont wait until you are ready If you are thinking about it, you are ready. The dreams you have swirling around in your imagination are sitting there waiting for you to bring them to life. Do something today to make it happen. Grief however was the biggest lesson I learnt in my 20s, The heartbreaking loss of one of the most important people in my life, ignited a transformational journey of navigating intense grief & learning how to rediscover myself. A journey that I will carry into my 30s, with the gentle guidance & nurturing of those I choose to surround me. So while I had been feeling apprehensive about turning 30, I find myself now running towards it with open arms because I am finding so much comfort in the journey of discovering my authentic self. I have never been more at peace in my being or stronger in my ability to just be me. The next 10 years will see me create a beautiful legacy, and make my mark on the world, and for that I can not wait. Jes xx
20.01.2022 ATT: This image could be illegal (in Australia) in 2019 Please read my beautiful friend and clients point of view of the current state of Homebirth in Australia "This image is me in the midst of my birthing power. This incredible photo of a woman drawing power from her partner, supported by qualified midwives and surrounded by what makes her feel competent and safe could become illegal after 2019.... I wouldnt feel competent in a hospital. I wouldnt have faith in my body if I had to be in hospital. I wouldnt have been able to express my emotions easily and safely in a hospital. My ability to trust my body would have been compromised in a medical setting. Modern medicine is a life safer (without my transfer after birth I could have died from infection from retained membranes). Modern medicine allows us so much choice (if Jorgy gets a FIFO job that means he will miss the birth of our next child, I would consider induction so he can see our babe arrive). Pro-homebirth is not anti-hospital. Hospitals and the people that work in them do awesome things for birthing women everyday. And so do Independent Midwives. There is no difference in mortality when you compare normal risk women in the two environments. Please, just as I support your informed choice to elect a cesarean, have necessary augmentation, induction, use medical pain relief, or have an unmedicated natural birth in the birth centre... support my choice to be where I feel safest and most competent to birth my babies. Lets properly insure Independent Midwives to do their work. It works for loads of other countries, why not ours?" Kellie Anne And this is a Statement from Homebirth Australia on the event happening today "The next twelve months are going to be a challenging time for homebirth in this country. There is going to be much in flux in the media, and in policy. There is a significant amount of work to be done, and Homebirth Australia will be asking much of you as we work to push back on the forces constantly seeking to take our choices away. It is necessary for every homebirth family in the country to be engaged in political activism, otherwise in a few short years we will be wondering what happened to our right to choose homebirth." Homebirth Australia We hope to see you all there today at 11am at 5/99 Bathurst St, outside the AHPRA office :) Even if you just drop in and stay for 10 or 15 min, it would be great! See petition in the comments, your signature is much appreciated! #mothersformidwives #march5 #birthjustice #birthrightsarehumanrights #indurancenotexemption
19.01.2022 VOTING ENDS MIDNIGHT FRIDAY 27th July!!! I didnt accept the nomination for this award to win a shiny trophy, or dress up in a fancy gown I entered to provide inspiration to the millions of young mums worldwide who want a positive story of a young mum achieving big. By voting for me you will be sending a message not only to young mums everywhere but to anyone who may be facing adversity. ... You will be sending them a message of hope that even when they feel like the entire world is against them, even when they feel like their ability to succeed at anything is so far stretched from reality, they wont give up because YOU believed enough in ME, which shows them that you also believe enough in THEM. Your vote is a positive step in the right direction to smash the Teen/Young Mum stereotype, because when we show a young mum that anything is possible, she begins to believe that anything is possible and then we are one step closer to being free of the stigma for good! I have been so overwhelmed by all the love, sharing and voting that has been coming my way for the Ausmumpreneur award! Thank you SO SO much from the bottom of my heart, for believing in all the work that I do. Honestly I appreciate you all so so much! Voting closes tomorrow (Friday 27th July) at midnight!! Eep. Not long left to cast your vote!! If you havent done so already, I would love for you to follow the link below and select my name in the Making a Difference Category Entry 44 ~ Jes Jackson Young Mums Unleashed. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AUSMUM18 Because alone I can not make all the difference, it is something we all have to do together. 19.01.2022 Exhausted after day 1 of the Ausmumpreneur conference I got through my business pitch and Q&A with the judges even though I was an absolute bundle of nerves, Thanks to my business buddies for their positive affirmations that helped get me through during the lead up. For so many years I have been telling the stories of other women and families through my imagery, I have always been able to hide behind my camera so to be so vulnerable in front of total strangers today and tal...k about my journey was extremely confronting But I did it!! Yah. Look forward to being inspired tomorrow for day 2 of the conference and celebrate the achievements of so many amazing mums in business tomorrow night at the Gala Awards dinner! Check out my insta stories for behind the scenes pics from today and be sure to follow along tomorrow too for updates!!!! My instagram handle is with_jesjackson

Thank you again from the bottom of my very full and grateful heart, Jes xx
18.01.2022 This is a video for all the young mamas, worried that because of their age they are going to screw their kids up. This is a video for any person who has judged a young mum and told them they were not equipped to be a parent or for those who have ever thought it. This is a video that absolutely smashes the stereotype that a teen mum can not raise a decent human or the child of a teen mum will amount to nothing and just end up in the same boat as she did.... This is a video for all the babies born early, who had to fight to stay alive. This is a video for all the mamas currently caring for premature babys and worried about what their babies future might look like. This is a video a 14yo created for her CrowdFunding campaign, a campaign that if successful will take her to Cambodia next year to Volunteer as part of The World Challenge Expedition. This is a video shared by an incredibly proud young mother. A young mother who was told never to have this baby. A young mother who was told that by choosing to keep her baby she had ruined her life and that she could not provide a decent life for her baby. A young mother who had her baby torn from her womb 8 weeks prematurely, during emergency surgery to save both their lives. A young mother who visited her baby in hospital to care for her, every day for 6 weeks until she was able to take her baby home. A young mother who asks herself everyday, how did she get so lucky to have such an incredible child... l This video is about Adella Jackson who was not only born 8 weeks premature but was also born to teenage parents. This video is about my daughter, who she is, how she came to be and what she is hoping to achieve. This video is hope. This video is proof. This video is powerful. Please watch it and if you are able to support Adella in any way. If that is via purchasing a perk, a financial donation, a share, like or comment. I know we would both appreciate it. I will pop the link to her campaign in my profile, for easy access. Thanks for being here. Jes Xx To check out Adellas campaign and browse the amazing selection of Perks (things you can receive in exchange for a financial donation) you can simple follow this link; https://chuffed.org//world-challenge-flying-aj-to-kampong- P.S There are a small number of Mini Sessions with yours truely, available over there as a perk - at $50.00 off! 17.01.2022 When I fell pregnant at 16, total strangers, close friends & some family told me I was; A baby having a baby Nothing but a high school drop out To young to provide a secure future for my child ... Young and in love and It wouldnt last Irresponsible, uneducated & unable to be a good mum. In their words, I had thrown my life away. They were SO wrong and boy did I prove it! Growing up I had dreams & becoming a mother young, did not stop me achieving them. Before I was 25, I had completed my family, married their father, purchased our first home, returned to school, began my own business and went on to establish myself as a leading birth photographer & advocate in my state, all while being the best mum I could be! Heck, I had been busy making all my dreams come true. But what is next? While I am still working as a photographer, My aim is too also create a movement of free thinking, strong and driven young mums who are keen to blossom into their personal power & rid themselves of negativity in this new chapter of their lives. My most empowering venture yet! I hear you ask, What can I do to be a part of your movement? My answer As a society we need to change the way we view & treat young mothers, once we start to do that, subconsciously this will change the way young mothers view themselves. Instead of sharing negative young mum stories we need to seek out ones that fuel her to succeed & encourage her to accomplish all her dreams. Where can you start? You can start now, by simply casting your vote in this years 2018 AusMumpreneur award & vote for Young Mums Unleashed in the Making A Difference Business Award (Category 1, Nominee 44) because, I didnt enter this award for my own glory and accolades I entered to provide inspiration to the millions of young mums worldwide who want a positive story of a young mum achieving big. Please join me in smashing the young mum stereotype, because when we show a young mum that anything is possible, she begins to believe that anything is possible and then we are one step closer to smashing the stigma for good. To show your support simply follow this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AUSMUM18 Pic of me approx 30 weeks pregnant

05.01.2022 Thank you so much to everyone for your love and best wishes yesterday as I attended the 2018 Ausmumpreneur Awards night. So very proud of my gorgeous friend and fellow Tasmanian Sarah Purvey Psychology for taking out second place in the Tasmanian Business Excellence Category. I received third place in the same category.... Congratulations also to Michelle from House of Dance for taking home the Gold, What an incredible business you have built. So many amazing and inspiring stories of mums in business overcoming adversity and juggling the work/mum juggle every single person in the room was a winner in my eyes!!
04.01.2022 Just casually letting you all know... I was allowed in to the OR this month to photograph another C- Section birth!!! Eep. It was a loooooong 9 months of hard work, determination, letter writing, fighting, a never giving up attitude for Mum, Her OB and myself to get in there but we did it, together as a team we did it!! It is always a huge honour to be allowed into such a sacred space, The OR included. C-Section is birth and deserves to be documented too by a professional.... Huge thank you to the amazing OB, Midwife and Theatre staff who allowed this to happen for this amazing mama. Old wounds were healed here, and it was amazing to be apart of! Also if you signed my petition, You played a part in making this happen too!!!! So THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
01.01.2022 Enjoying every moment of photographing this beautiful mothers retreat in Bali. A quick Iphone snap of the sunset Pure bliss!
01.01.2022 Sharing for the day time crew :) Your wonderful support has lead me to be a top 10 finalist in the 2018 Ausmumpreneur Making A Difference Business award. (cue the champers) BUT it is not over yet, round two voting is NOW OPEN but only for a few more days. Voting closes for good on Sunday 19th August. You are no longer voting for me to be a finalist, now you are voting for me to WIN!... This is your opportunity to get this little Tassie chick all the way through to the end, The competition is tough, with all nominees worthy of this award, But how amazing would it be to see this former 16 and pregnant Tasmanian babe flying to the big smoke, all dolled up, walking the red carpet and standing on a stage among some of the most successful Australian Mums in business accepting such an incredible award?
