16.01.2022 A bit of a freshen up! Swipe to check it all out You may have noticed I changed my profile image recently..nothing drastic! Just a little refresh of my brand colours and refinement of my logo to reflect my brand vision. My main logo now intertwines with each other (zoom in to see!)... And i’ve created secondary logos to compliment, which helps when I need my logo to fit in smaller spaces or if it visually looks better in a vertical format depending on what it’s being used for. I’ve brightened up my colour palette, kept it within my previous colours - but I just felt it was lacking slightly. It needed a little bit of spice If your logo doesn’t have these options, then maybe it’s time to add them in! 15.01.2022 Feeling like it’s time for a refresh?Recently I’ve been helping local businesses do just that! Here’s a few signs that you’re branding might be in need of some TLC: Uniqueness: Do you feel like your logo is a bit been-there-done-that? A big part of rebranding is aligning your business with yourself! Dive into what you want your customers to FEEL when they see your branding for the first time. Do you feel like your values or personality doesn’t match your branding? Do you ...feel like your competing in your field with businesses that look the same as yours? Time to take a look at it! Professionalism: Many times I have been asked to create print design for a company, and when I’ve requested a high-resolution logo to work with - they either don’t have one, or the one they thought was high-res, is not! This isn’t the businesses fault. Their budget may not have allowed a professional designer to create their logo, or if they have hired a professional, they weren’t given the correct files. You’ll be shocked to see how many files you receive from me, but I promise you, it’s better to be prepared than left in the dark! Consistency: Do your social media pages and website compliment each other? If you answered no, then it might be time to take a look! That old saying consistency is key? A very valid point! 11.01.2022 What is one goal that you have accomplished this year? For me, I didn't realise it was an actual 'goal' until it happened! I have some exciting news... I was able to tell my full-time job that I needed to cut back and focus on my business! ... 10.01.2022 BRAND GLOW-UP I’m excited to be able to finally share this rebrand with you all! A family owned Motor Inn, @twofoldbaymotorinn is located in a picturesque part of the Far South Coast. With a range of different rooms for short and long stays, currently undergoing renovations to modernise. A beautiful slice of the world if you ask me, and one of my favourite places to visit. ... The brief for the rebrand was a coastal vibe with a sleek and sophisticated look. No colour, just black and white. We needed the main logo to be clear and easy to read, as it would be going on the front signage and need to be visible to the cars driving past for an easy find. She reached out wanting a new look for her business, as the previous branding didn’t quite fit with her strategy and vision moving forward. We spoke about her offerings and what she wanted her clients to feel and experience when they booked in a service at the spa. We agreed that a colourful but pr...ofessional and sophisticated look was what Eden Spa & Beauty needed! We kept the same lilac colour from the previous logo and added some fresh coral to make it pop! The typeface is sleek and refined, which suits the business to a T. 03.01.2022 I’ve been doing a little experimenting Let’s talk about Ghost Followers You may have never heard the term, I hadn’t until not long ago either. But it makes so much sense! Hear me out Engagement is KEY on Instagram. Instagram loves when your post is performing well and gets excited for you (it’s like having a virtual cheer squad) - by pushing your post out to more and more and more accounts. ... BUT... if your followers are mostly accounts who: 1: follow thousands of other accounts so your post just drowns in a sea of other posts in their feed 2: are accounts who haven’t been active in the last 6-12 months or even more (dead followers) 3: are bot accounts who play in the follow/unfollow trend (you will know if they have zero posts of their own or their username is a lot of numbers and letters all mixed together) Then your engagement is going to be less than ideal! It stops people who LOVE your content and follow you for you, from seeing your posts! It might sound crazy - but it’s time to go through your followers and remove the ghosts and bots little by little! (I can hear you now, REMOVE MY FOLOWERS?!) Don’t do it all at once, Instagram will see this as unusual activity and then you’ll have more problems on your hands. Personally I remove around 10-20 bot accounts per week (if I need too) I’ve had my account for 5 years, so I have found some accounts not active since 2016 How do you feel about this? 01.01.2022 When you’re creating a moodboard for a new client and it’s just magical excited to begin working on some concepts this week I get all my branding clients after they’ve filed out their branding questionnaire, to send me inspiration of things they are drawn too, want to manifest or simply just love.
