14.01.2022 2019 was like one big long black tunnel. My family, Balbi, Jem, Leesh and my team walked beside me for every step. Every bend there was someone else joining our team, Pete the physio, GPs, Ruffie, Dr Bestic, Dr Ellis, nurse Glenn, Jackie, Nina, Ian and Danny. However, I would never guessed that dark tunnel would end with walking out to into Queen concert and meeting Brian May!

09.01.2022 POSITION AVAILABLE - PLEASE SHARE My name is Jessica Irwin, I self manage my NDIS package due to having severe Cerebral Palsy. I am currently in need of a new carer to join my team. No prior carer skills are required as training will be provided through buddy shifts with my existing staff. However, the following criteria are needed:... > Female aged between 25 - 55 > Driver’s license > Police check > Live within 30 minutes of Umina > Willing to obtain insurance and ABN [guidance will be provided] > Be COVID-19 safe > Present yourself nicely when you come to work > No physical or mental health issues > Be 100% reliable > Be respectful of me and my surroundings > Have the confidence to drive me to appointments outside the Central Coast in my automatic van. What The Job Involves In the beginning, your role will involve being on-call between Mondays and Fridays. If my rostered carers fall sick they have the ability to call you to cover their shifts. These shifts may include: > Personal care > Housecleaning > Transporting me to my work commitments > May be short split shifts or the whole day Once we have trained you, permanent shifts will be available. One of my existing carers is finishing her uni course this year and I will need to fill her shifts. In the meantime, there will be plenty of shifts to cover. However, not only can it improve a patient's mindset to assist the healing process, it can also allow you to gauge a person’s cognitive ability when they are rendered as non-verbal. The beauty of banter is the fact you don’t need to be verbal to respond. The patient’s response could be the slightest grin but that is evidence that they are aware of what is going on around them. 04.01.2022 I really do have the best doctors!!! COVID-19 has prevented me from partaking in a lot of my usual daredevil stunts but we can still manage to go flying. I love spending time with these two, they never stop challenging me. And yes... I didn't recognise Ruffie because he didn't rock up wearing scrubs [first time in nine years].
