18.01.2022 Happy Sunday sleep in! Not getting enough sleep can increase our metabolic age by up to 10 years, creates hormonal disruptions and shortens our lifespan.

17.01.2022 BET YOU'VE NEVER HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE! Well let me ask you this then, my delightfully thirsty friend- If its old news and you already know it... Why aren't you doing it? ... . Lets go over WHY its important to drink water in the context of your immune system. In the last post I talked about excersise for lymphatic movement, the other part of that is you need to have adequate lymph to move! You need to be well hydrated so that your body has enough lymph to flush out all the bad stuff. Basically, if you're dehydrated your body can't move your white blood cells (the literal things that combat viruses and infections) around your body. Think of it like a river versus a pond- A river is flowing and fresh, with clean water. Its constantly moving, bringing new clean water, and moving debris away. While a pond is stagnant and gross and smells funny... Ya really don't want to drink that water. . Same goes for your lymph. If you don't want it to be stagnant and gross, replenish your water through-out the day. . You’ll also have more energy, better clarity of thought and control your hunger more effectively if you’re getting adequate water. Aim for 2-4 litres a day. . . EASY WATER TIP - too cold to drink much water in winter? Try drinking it tepid with a little hot water. Its easier for your body to use at the right temperature and its better for your digestion, especially if you're prone to bloating . . . .

09.01.2022 Numerous studies have shown that vitamin D can help prevent respiratory infections and reduce their severity, especially if you have a deficiency. Vitamin D has both anti-inflammatory and immunoregulatory properties and is crucial for the activation of immune mediated responses. Vitamin D is known to enhance the function T-cells and macrophages, that protect your body against pathogens. Every health professional will have a different view, but I like to see my patients Vitam...in D levels at around 120. Vitamin D deficiency is common in Australia with an estimated 50% of adults having a mild, moderate or even severe deficiency. Signs and symptoms might include: -Fatigue. -Bone pain. -Muscle weakness, muscle aches, or muscle cramps. -Mood changes, like depression. I personally take 4000IU of vitamin D daily. If you want to know more about vitamin D or how much to take, book and appointment me with me or your preferred health professional
