24.01.2022 Early start on some bucket repairs for a client. Got a fairly good run out of two buckets we built up around August last year almost 8 months in hard rock with only minor repairs.. Hopefully they will get another good run after this wee push is done and they return to service..

24.01.2022 For want of a seal, the oil was lost.. For want of oil, the bearing was lost.. For want of a bearing, the gearbox was lost... For want of a gearbox, production was lost....... Emergency re-build of a conveyor reduction box for a client. Seemingly small problems like oil leaks, can suddenly turn into breakdowns ceasing production.. Usually at the most inconvenient time..

24.01.2022 Fabrication of some repair panels on an XD falcon... will post an update once gaurds are fitted.. Yes I know you can buy these... but it generally takes 8-10 days out of Brisbane..

24.01.2022 This is a tribute to the humble milkcrate. Each year I travel to the annual milk crate disposal sale to buy surplus milkcrates.. Milk crates are very useful for storing gear, used as a seat or step, or as seen on the left. securing items on a ute tray. They do however look a wee bit unprofessional especially when you earn your living building things out of metal. See on the right some fabricated aliuminium crates loosely based on the milk crate.... Built to last a lifetime, and look good. See more

19.01.2022 Neat new compressor on the rig.. 35 CFM screw.. Weighs in at only 120kg, all the air I need for air arc gouging or running a 1 inch drive rattle gun.. Mine spec ones are available..

07.01.2022 Most would say Wet steel no deal. But sometimes you need to say Get it done in the wet, as soon as it dries out they will need it. Or in this case, Get it done Friday so I’m not here all weekend.
