22.01.2022 Drink Banff Beer, among the Larches!

21.01.2022 Happy 150th Canada! Sarah and I started our day participating in the Banff Parade promoting Banff Ave Brewing Co. Helping kids understand where great beer is brewed in town with a complimentary sticker. We then set off for a hike to boom lake whilst being accompanied by some hail and thunder on the trail, we ate our lunch semi-sheltered under a tree with a view of the huge alpine lake. The clouds cleared and the sun began to poke its head through as we ventured around th...e lake. We bush whacked for a while (Sarah wasn't too happy with me) until we found a view of the waterfall and sat down to take in the vista. A Canadian toad decided to join us for the short break as ugly as he was he was quite entertaining. On our route back to Banff we were lucky enough to see our first Grizzly WOO! He got really close to us at one point but as you can see he was mesmerised by the surrounding plants. To top the day off we watched the Fireworks from above town on the Norquay patch with the one and only JP Hope ya'll had an awesome day in this beautiful country EH! See more

20.01.2022 This is a shot from back on a warm summers morning up at cascade Falls looking down the Bow Valley with Mt Rundle to the distant right. The usual summer haze was pretty absent this past summer but it started to show its face on this day. Bumped my iso up to get this depth of field and still freeze the motion of the flowing water. Shutter speed was all the way up at 1/2000s and could have been faster. Not everything has to be the cliché slow shutter, smooth water... its just knowing when and where. No filters used.
