19.01.2022 The summer holidays might have officially ended... but are you feeling just a bit exhausted now... like you need your OWN HOLIDAY? It's so important to take tim...e out for you, but many people just keep on, keeping on, year after year. It's not enough to just go through the motions of life. And it's not enough to continuously give to others and never give back to yourself. If you've gotten through the end of school year, Christmas, New Year and six or seven weeks of kids at home .... then you can be forgiven for not being able to summon up the kind of bright-eyed motivation that your career really needs. Actually, if you have big dreams and big goals to achieve in your career then it's actually DOUBLY IMPORTANT to refill your energy levels with scheduled self-care. Because that procrastination and feeling unmotivated might actually be that you're just plain... tired. It might be that you're just too exhausted to be the kind of magnetic INSPIRING leader you really want to be. You can't just keep giving away your caring and emotional energy - because eventually YOU WILL RUN OUT. I know I've done it. I've got 4 kids and once upon a time I did EVERYTHING at home and NEVER really made time for myself except to go shopping or get my hair done. (Boring!) I didn't know what relaxation or contentment actually was for a really long time. It's super sad but the truth was I DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO RECEIVE. I didn't have the self-esteem to make myself a priority in my family and ask for the things in my life that made me feel really alive and joyful. Things like getting massages, asking others to cook for me, asking family for babysitting, walking with girlfriends or taking holidays by myself. I felt guilty when my husband came home and saw me sitting on the couch even if I had only just sat down! I thought he would think I was lazy so I kept up this ridiculous schedule of bring super busy all the time and overachieving at home. Deep down however I was exhausted, bored and unhappy. And an unhappy mother will drag the whole family down. When you are radiant, your family is radiant and relaxed and fun and good energy flows. But if you are cloudy and down - then your whole family is tense. Right? As a holistic coach I help mothers get back to radiant health. Yes, nutrition is part of it but there's so much more to wellbeing than eating more greens. Honestly, you probably don't need another green smoothie recipe. You need time to yourself. If your cup is a little empty - then escape to beautiful Dunsborough and join me on the UPEACE Happiness Retreat. I'll be sharing my secrets to dramatically improve your energy levels including powerful daily habits you can use right away. You'll also learn proven techniques to manage your stress and anxiety from 30 experts in happiness, well-being and mindfulness. Isn't it time to give back to you? 14.01.2022 Breakfast anyone? Date and Caramel Paleo Muffins... Yummo. These were gooey with dates and super delicious warm from the oven. It's not always easy cooking with coconut flour (anyone else had any dud recipes?) but these were super delicious! And got the big thumbs up from my kids. ... Coconut flour is quite fibrous and you have to amp up the healthy fats to make them soft and yummy. Make a double batch and take them to the playground, pack in lunchboxes or eat warm for breakfast. Low GI, no-grain or gluten and packed full of nutrition for healthy kids. This is one of the recipes I'll be sharing in my new Dunsborough cooking classes. Along with lots of other yummy recipes and a journey through wholefood nutrition. Come have fun in my kitchen with other mums. Email me at [email protected] to book now for Term 4. Classes start Mon Oct 28.

10.01.2022 Choc Chunk Sunflower Cookies... They never last long! I made up this recipe because I needed grain-free cookies that weren’t made from nuts so I could put them in my kids lunchboxes. And these are a winner. My kids love them and don’t even know they are full of incredible goodness! Also good with a cup of tea.. Just saying.. #glutenfreerecipes #grainfree #lunchbox #healthykidslunch #paleo #paleokidslunchbox #healthyfamilyfood #fourkids #fourdaughters #cookingclasses
09.01.2022 Do your kids say stuff like this to you? "I liked this food the other day ... but this day I hate it!" said my three-year old yesterday morning over a simple toast topping. Key eye-roll from me... !... I mean how are you supposed to keep them eating when they change their food preferences daily? Have your kids ever changed their minds on foods? Like one day they love olives and a few months later they are picked off the pizza. Its enough to drive you crazy huh? But its more common than you think. Kids food goal posts do move. Often! But did you know you can also work this in your favour?? If they can change their food preferences overnight - you can help shift them to accept new foods too. Their food preferences aren't set in stone. They'll eat foods at their friends's houses they wouldn't try for you. And depending on who is offering the food and who else is eating it - this can really change their decision making. People say to me "you're so lucky your kids are great eaters" but it's not luck. They weren't born liking broccoli. All kids prefer cheese toast! But some psychology tips and tricks can really help you get your kids to start eating more of the good stuff. Whats my top tip for fussy eaters? Peer pressure. Yep let other kids coax them into trying new foods. Enlist the help of a mum whose kids are great eaters. Arrange a play-date at their place and let your kids observe their children chowing down on veggies. Nine times out of ten if you don't bring another food option your child will join in and eat it too. Want to get a handle on fussy eating at your place? If you're in Dunsborough my new cooking classes will feature a whole section on picky eating so you can turn your picky eater into a great eater too. Message me for more details and come have fun in my kitchen with other mums. Starts Mondays 28 Oct for 6 weeks. Email [email protected] for more details. Numbers capped at 10. Enrol quick!
