22.01.2022 Got my first ever ripe Panama berry on my tree. It was good! The tree isn't even a year old tons of unripe berries on it and it's 3m tall in a big pot very fast grower. Very yummy.

14.01.2022 Pretty decent ginger harvest a month or so ago. Just shy of 4kg, came out of the two pots shown. You don't need heaps of room for delicious ginger. I've dried and powdered some, the rest is currently stored in a sealed bucket of slightly damp sand to keep fresh until I want to use some and until a big bunch of it is ready to be replanted in spring

11.01.2022 Creamy chicken stroganoff with fettuccine.. All made completely from scratch.. Pasta from scratch and sauce from scratch had herbs and garlic from my garden in the sauce. As well as some cherry tomatoes from the garden.

11.01.2022 Sticky date puddings with butterscotch sauce made fresh Monday afternoon. These freeze extremely well, and the sauce can be kept in the fridge for a few weeks. Just grab one, put a couple spoon fulls of sauce ontop and microwave for around 30s depending on your microwave.... 4 individual puddings + container of sauce $8 4 small GLUTEN FREE puddings + 2 small sauce containers $6 (2 available) 6 small gluten free puddings + 1 large container of sauce $8 (1 available) Pick up narara. - also expressions of interest for orders for larger quantities. *gluten free- while all care is given to ensure they don't come into contact with any traces of gluten, they are cooked in the same kitchen as gluten products so may contain tiny traces of gluten.

09.01.2022 I made these experimental vegan, egg free, nut free, dairy free, gluten free macarons. I replaced the egg whites with aquafaba, which is the water from a can of chickpeas, due to the protein it whips up just like egg whites. I replaced almond meal with pepita/pumpkin seed meal. And the filling is a ganache made from dark chocolate and coconut cream.... They were quite tasty experiments!

09.01.2022 I just proved you can grow sweet potatoes from vine cuttings in heavy clay soil I mainly planted sweet potato cuttings to use as a ground cover and because it can be a good clay breaker. Didn't actually expect any taters. Will have to do some digging some time and see if there's more.

08.01.2022 It's that time of the year the garden is quite sleepy. The deciduous trees have dropped their leaves, everything has slowed down. Lovely sight for the middle of winter is the lovely pink blossoms of my dwarf peach some of them may be allowed to develop into most delicious juicy yellow peaches which I will guard ferociously from any critter that might wish destroy them.

08.01.2022 I spoiled myself and acquired a new shiny red kitchen friend no sooner than I had thanked the delivery man and hauled her inside, I was whipping up this most delicious spelt bread. Yum yum. Spelt is a different "older" variety of wheat. Although it does have nearly as much gluten as regular wheat, some people with a mild gluten intolerance apparently seem to tolerate spelt better. It's also quite delicious.
