24.01.2022 WHY YOUR MORNING ROUTINE MATTERS: I was inspired to write this post after realizing that I had recently let what I feel is one of the most important elements o...f maintaining health slip - my morning routine. When life becomes chaotic and stress levels soar, this is one of the first things to suffer. We may find we need a little more sleep, a little more coffee and have a little less time for that morning walk in the sun. Cooking a wholesome, nutritious breakfast takes a back seat to whatever meal creates the least fuss and is the most portable. While this survival mode may help us get to work on time with just enough juice to function throughout the day, it certainly doesn't make us feel good. In fact, it sets us up for a day in which we chase our tails until the final afternoon crash which prepares us for the same cycle repeating itself the next day. So what makes a morning routine of champions? Many healthy and successful people share a similar set of principles in common when it comes to their morning routine: 1) Set an alarm - Break your cycle and wake early enough for a morning walk. This may been turning off Netflix an hour earlier at night! 2) Start with a morning drink - after dehydrating during the night, it makes perfect sense to start by rehydrating. Opt for warm water with a touch of lemon or ACV (if you can tolerate). If your skin is inflamed, some fennel in the water adds a cooling effect 3) Invigorate yourself - start with a skin brush before the shower, some yoga stretching, deep breathing or add a quick splash of cold water to the end of your shower 4) Repeat your morning mantra - This involves setting clear intentions for what you want to achieve at the beginning of every day. Whether it is "I will be happy and healthy" or "I will take care of my skin" make it clear what it is that is of your highest priority for that day and you will be sure to make it happen. I for one am motivated to get back to my morning routine and look forward to sharing the benefits with you. Do you have a morning routine of champions? Please share your tips so that we can help and support each other. Jessica Simonis Clinical Nutritionist and Practitioner Integrative Dermatology

10.01.2022 I bought this shovel especially for this job of weeding between the plants after the tractor blades have gone through. For those of you who wonder why organic a...nd biodynamic food is more expensive, this is one of the main reasons, weeding manually. It just costs more labour to do it. If you want to get cheaper product go buy the stuff from the supermarket that has been sprayed with weedicide. See more

08.01.2022 Growing research behind IV Vitamin C and Covid 19. Whilst you may not have access to this treatment, liposomal Vitamin C is the next best thing and this can be accessed through your natural health practitioner - subject to availability. If you can't get your hands on this then at least take a basic ascorbic acid daily and eat well. Keep in mind stress chews through your Vit C! Any friends, family and prior patients who need access to treatments to support their families immune system, respiratory and general health during this time pease let me know and I'll do whatever I can you access treatments for you.

04.01.2022 IMPORTANT-PLEASE SHARE TO HELP STOP THE STIGMA For sufferers of chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis, rosacea, eczema, acne, vitiligo and so on, the psycho...logical and social burden often outweighs the physical symptoms of their condition. Unfortunately, we still live in a time where public awareness of chronic skin conditions is still relatively poor. Therefore, it is up to us, the practitioners and the patients, to spread awareness. Every day I see my patients sit in front of me and explain how a customer wouldn't shake their hand in case they were "contagious", or how they are too embarrassed to go and get a massage, or how people can't help but stare. The stress this causes is often half the reason their skin is unable to heal. In fact, according to a recent study, the impact on quality of life for conditions such as psoriasis, has been rated as second only to cancer. Yes, that means more severe than Heart Disease, Diabetes and End Stage Renal Disease! (Moller, A.H., et al, 2015) Instead of judgement, there is so much you CAN say to offer your support. Such as; - Please don't be embarrassed around me - Are you getting the help you need? - Can you tell me more about your condition, I don't know much about it? Remember knowledge is power, and your kindness and understanding will go a long way to help them on their healing journey. - Practitioner Jessica Simonis #empathy #understadning #qualityoflife #psoriasiseczemaclinic
