25.01.2022 This incredible movement and this auspicious day are making such huge traction in making us all more comfortable with being uncomfortable. And for that, I am forever grateful. Undoing years of social conditioning is not easy, but boy is it worth it.... Healthy minds, create healthy ideas, create healthy realities. Find the courage to ask the question. Find the courage to give an honest answer. And know that you are not alone. You never have been, even when that is what it felt like. 23.01.2022 This quote changed how I saw myself. As a woman, as a daughter, as a mum, as a friend, as a teacher, as a wife and as a member of the community. Forever grateful for brave and courageous women such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg. For being a trailblazer, a courageous force for good, even though it must have been incredibly uncomfortable at times. Rest In Peace. Your legacy is a huge piece of this awakening. #rbg #genderequality #socialjustice

22.01.2022 2020:YEAR OF THE BACKYARD PICNIC Such a simple and easy way to create joy in life. We don’t do it often enough, but when we do, it’s always a good day. (Photo from a few years ago, when twiggy baby was still with us)

22.01.2022 Question: have you struggled in the past to give up the following... Do you notice a similar pattern of always returning to old favourites even though you know they don’t serve you/make you fatter/make you cranky/mess with your digestion/make your skin saggy etc etc... And an even more important question...Have you felt like a failure that you can’t just stop at one scotch finger? A hopeless mess because you keep going back to the fridge and breaking off another row of... chocolate. Or perhaps what started out as a piece of slice being a joyous pleasure with a cuppa in the sun has become a source of shame, embarrassment and bewilderment, as you polish off the whole tin in two days. The thing with sugar, (and many other things) is that there is very often an emotional element at play. If you have struggled to give up sugary food you know doesn’t serve you and have failed repeatedly, I can hazard a guess that you have a strong emotional tie to sugar. I know this to be true because it has very much been my own story with sugar (and other comfort foods). And here’s a bit of science to throw in the mix... Sugar releases the same opioids in the brain as love does. Can you start to see that you are not a failure? There is just more to learn. I have come to believe that sugar addiction, or when you are recognising that you are stuck in a negative pattern with sugar, a heady mix of science and emotion is at play. On one side, the brain is craving a shot of love hormone, and on the other your pattern for coping with difficult or uncomfortable emotion has been to reach for the iced vovos. The vovos are helping you feel an extra bit of love, PLUS helping you numb from something else going on that has made you feel a bit shite! (Then throw a global pandemic into the mix, with people suffering from isolation from their communities...! ) If you feel that the patterns above describe you in any way, know you are not alone. I know these feelings first hand, as do most of my clients. Looking at the reasons behind why we eat sugar in a gentle, curious way with a hearty dose of compassion in the mix is key in breaking the (subconscious) habits for good.

20.01.2022 NOURISH I can’t tell you the satisfaction it brings me to pick lively, deep green veg from my garden, cook it up and eat it up, for a dose of nutrient dense love. A gift from the fertile soil (I worked hard to create!) and the sun #biglifeproject #goodlife #ruralhealthcoach #veggiegarden #graziher #buyfromthebush

20.01.2022 Some of my favourite books that helped me quit sugar 5 years ago, and have helped again this time round during my nutrition upgrade challenge (month one of a year long challenge!) as I clean up the last of my sugary habits! @jshealth @thatsugarmovement @nourishedbeginnings @iquitsugar #nutritionupgrade #biglifechallenge #rurallifecoach #iinhealthcoach #iquitsugar #iquitsugarforlife @ Kialla, Victoria

20.01.2022 Chocolate Sunday Smoothie that I shared in a previous post makes a ripper chocolate ice cream too The tantrum that happened when Ollie went to take another lick only to realise there were no licks left, is a testimony to how good it is #healthykids #iinhealthcoach #happinessisachocolateicecream... #goodlife #biglife #thisisliving #countrykids #ruralhealthcoach #thrivingnotsurviving #healthylifestyle #healthyeating #happy See more

19.01.2022 PROJECT ANNOUNCEMENT! Something that I have been dreaming about for years and more recently heavily researching is how to get the most out of this life that we are given. I am dedicating one year of my life to uplevel one area every month. Ranging from things like nutrition/sleep/movement/money mindset/reducing stress/learning meditation/yoga and much more. Simple things, that we could all most likely do better in order to create more joy, love and freedom in our lives. ... I want to bring you practical tips and tools on how and what I am doing each month and in particular focus on bridging the gap between knowing that something is good for you and actually doing it! I will be using my favourite books and resources to guide me each month, plus including my own thoughts and reflections. I want to highlight that life is a marathon not a sprint and this project aims to overcome some of the overwhelm that I have felt over the years to get it all done at once! ‘One thing at a time’ is a mantra that has really come to serve me well and will be a guiding principle of this process. I hope to make this a fun, creative experience for me, and if you feel called to join in you are welcomed with open arms. Bringing you more info as I go! 18.01.2022 DIRTY DOZEN A handy tool to help me know - what to spend more energy on growing in the veggie garden - or what to spend money on and buy the organic version (often this means frozen) - or soak them in the sink after I have done the shopping before I put them away.... We don’t see the chemical residue on our fruit and veggies, but it’s there, and over time, it is not doing us any favours. See more

17.01.2022 So.many.names.for.sugar. Food companies sometimes have to get creative when it comes to their labels. The reason why? They know consumers increasingly don’t want to see the word sugar, but keeping it in in some form makes their product so much more addictive. So we keep buying it. This can be a helpful guide when cutting out sneaky sugars in the products you buy. Image from the That Sugar Guide, the second in the amazing series by Damon and Zoe Gameau ... @thatsugarmovement They also have an app called That Sugar App if you are interested in finding out how much sugar are in your innocent looking favourite products. #biglife #healthcoach #lifecoach #rurallifecoach #lifecoachaustralia #buyfromthebush #ruralaustralia

13.01.2022 CLEAN FIFTEEN I rarely buy the organic version of these veggies, or even wash them when I don’t feel like it! I google clean fifteen and dirty dozen every few years (the environmental working group updates annually) print them out and put them on the fridge.

13.01.2022 NOTE TO SELF Constantly have to remind myself of this one. Thanks for the inspo @heyamberrae #dothework #selfhealers #iinhealthcoach

12.01.2022 Really feeling the resistance today! After completing Month One of my Big Life Challenge, and cutting out refined sugar from my diet, I move into Month Two of the challenge today. I’m going to announce in my stories what it is later today (hint, one of those vital basics that can be very easy to ignore when you get busy/hope for the best that you will be ok without it...!) ... But today it’s become apparent that I’m feeling SOOO resistant to jumping on board with this one. Previous experience and everything I have learnt on this journey of a big happy life has taught me that when something is out of our immediate comfort zone, our fearful primitive lizard brain tells us NOOOOOO! Protect yourself! Stay hidden! Stay comfy!!!! But I have ALSO learnt that the good stuff happens when you push yourself out of that comfortable little nest you made on the couch, and DELVE IN! Show up for yourself in the way that you know you deserve! This may involve being very vulnerable. It may be incredibly uncomfortable It may feel inconvenient But if you have done the ‘thinking’ and know deep in your gut that it’s the best way forward, then it’s worth every bit of the initial cringe. And once you have done it once.... made that first awkward dive off the diving board, and sprung into showing up for you.... I mean, money can’t buy that feeling. What do you know you need to plunge yourself into this week, in order to be the best most happy version of you? Whatever it is, be brave, and be a master of your own mind! (The advice I need right in this moment ) LOVE JESSIE #lovenotfear #thrivinginthebush #showupforyourself #showupforyourselfeveryday #littlehabits #tinyhabits #iinhealthcoach #resistance #juststart #aussiehealthcoach #healthcoachingaustralia #australianhealthcoaching #onlinehealthcoach

12.01.2022 Sugar free, gluten free, but not taste free!!! During my sugar challenge this month I have been pushed to expand my cooking knowledge and routines, and cooks with ingredients I have never used before! And it can be...... 1. Hard to push myself to make a new recipe the first time 2. A bit more effort to look for different ingredients when we are shopping 3. Also a bit more effort to look for good recipes that are easy to make and easy to incorporate into the routine BUT every time I make something once, it is then so much easier to make the second time (once the fear of the unknown that we humans are so allergic to is removed). Plus it usually tastes better and is better for me and my family! And if we love it, it is then something that we can incorporate into our routine to set ourselves up for thriving not surviving. If you are a bit stick in area or diet or lifestyle, health coaches like me can make it so much easier. It is someone by your side on your health journey! I am full of resources, tips, practical knowledge and know how. Because I have done so much of it before, in my own life, on my own healing journey, and I have helped so many others as a coach! Pictured is an incredible apple pie that I made for dessert on the weekend. Super easy to make the pastry and filling, and delicious with a good dollop of coconut yoghurt, or homemade ice cream! #ruralhealth #ruralhealthcoach #biglifeproject #healthylifestyle #lovenotfear #thisisliving #iinhealthcoach #australianhealthcoach #australianhealthcoaching #thrivingnotsurviving #iquitsugar

11.01.2022 CHOICE I have come to realise that these are your choices. When I remember, in any big decision I make, I ask myself, ‘is this coming from love of fear?’ If the answer is love, Keep calm and carry on. If the answer is fear, I try to get curious. ... Am I scared of what people will think? Am I scared I will hurt someone’s feelings? Am I staying safe because it is easier? Is a limiting belief running the show? (I’m not pretty enough, I’m not clever enough, I’m not good enough) It can be incredibly tough to remember, and even when I remember it can be incredibly tough to shift back into love, but in my experience when I choose love, that’s where the gold is at. Doing the work is tough, but oh boy is it worth it! #lovenotfear #biglife #iinhealthcoach #selfhealers #dothework See more

04.01.2022 Over my life I have had many times when I lived by this and many times when I have not. But it was always the times that I lived with having a deep reverent faith in my own good self that propelled me into a better, bigger, happier human being. And one who is more satisfied with how things are. ... Never be afraid to back yourself. You know what you are doing. 03.01.2022 6 REASONS FOR DOING THIS CHALLENGE (previous post explains what the challenge is) 1. Gently incorporate new daily habits (ONE AT A TIME!) into my life that serve my health and increase my vibrations. 2. By choosing just one area per month I am taking out the overwhelm of doing it all at once at a panicked gallop! (as I have done many many times in the past) ... 3. Learn more about how to surround myself with support systems for when things get tricky/uncomfortable/‘too hard’ 4. Increase my deep connection with myself and understand myself even more 5. Increase my connection to other likeminded people, who I know that just by knowing them my own quality of my life is enriched! 6. Create more ease, grace and joy in my life Plus so much more!
