09.01.2022 For years the importance of personal branding has been drilled in to me, it's been stated as being one of the most important aspects of running a successful business. For my business, my brand is my face. I, me, my face, is 'Jessika Frlan Makeup' yet, for years, it has also been drilled into me that my all important 'brand' is imperfect. I have acne or as it is also known and advertised 'imperfections'. So for years I have been told that the most important aspect for me to su...cceed is also something that will forever be classified as imperfect /mpfkt/ Definition: 1. not perfect; faulty or incomplete. The sad part is, I believed it. For so long I agreed and I used my very passion, makeup, as a mask! I also allowed the insecurity surrounding my skin as an excuse to not show up for myself, to not take certain opportunities or experiences because I didn't feel worthy, because not only did I brand myself as faulty, society branded me as faulty. This is why it's so important for me to share my journey with @skinby_kame not just at the end when I get the results, but right through, because the truth is, I'm still insecure. That's not something that will go away overnight but, what has changed is that I now own it. Despite everything I've been programmed to believe, my skin does not define me, it does not make my personal brand any less appealing and it does not mean I cannot succeed. In fact, my belief is that by being my raw, authentic self I am more appealing, my brand is more relateable and my skin is just that... skin. Although my end goal is to ultimately clear my acne, I think the journey of acceptance is just as, if not more important. Also, massive shoutout to @skinby_kame Her approach to my skin has made me feel nothing short of beautiful, I'm so greatful to be on this journey with you @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

08.01.2022 You know what... 2020 changed me, probably not in the way that you expect though! Professionally, I was unemployed for 8 months and it was bloody hard BUT, regardless, I kicked soooo many goals! My first was to reach 2000 followers I did it (shout out to all of you!) My second was to launch a website and create a logo I did it (shout out to @amesdesigns_) My third was to work with a clothing label I did it and actually worked with two! (shout out to @tpaige.shop and @r...eptile_apparel) My fourth was to apply to my dream agency for representation I did it, I didn’t get in but I took a leap of faith and got my name on their radar, this goal is not over!! I manifested that and worked my butt off despite the obstacles 2020 threw my way! Personally I have evolved beyond measure, I have been working on letting go of past trauma and breaking cycles (shout out to my coach @elena_domazet ) I have broken down numerous barriers and achieved so much more then I had ever envisioned! Last night opened my eyes to how far I have truly come, I used to be that person who had to capture everything on my phone, I was the if it’s not on insta, it never happened person, but last night I lived in the moment, I didn’t feel the need to take out my phone and record everything. Hubby and I had a birthday, it was an incredible night and we both had so much fun together, it was his friends birthday and usually I would feel compelled to bring my own friend for company so that I wasn’t alone, so that I had a shield, but this time I didn’t... You know what happened, I met some beautiful new friends, we chatted, we danced, we spoke about life! For the first time in a very long time I knew that I AM ENOUGH just me, not me and my friend, not me and my shield, just me! Amazing things happen when you put in the work and 2020 has taught me that and so much more! I am beyond excited for what’s to come in 2021 because best you believe I am manifesting my most fulfilling, incredible and abundant life!
