17.01.2022 It was super exciting to make a research visit to the Gold Coast recently. 1. Because I was able to leave the state of Victoria for the first time in a while, and 2. Because it really noticeable and exciting that QLD is getting a makeover. The beige 80’s is being painted over and monochrome is the look of the moment... In some homes the colour selection is on point, while others painfully missed the mark. White and variations of it can be a hard tone to nail, particularly outdoors... 05.01.2022 Entry ways.... the entry to my home needs to be renovated, the home is an unappealing volume build from the late 70’s to early 80’s, and it’s hard to use modern minimalist style to create an inviting entry. I’ve always been a collector and love unusual decor, hard to find or upcycled items. Here I’ve used modern white urn style pots from @thebalconygarden with a retro glass buoy and metal pot, typically from India both from #kyooceangrove It’s not perfect yet, but I’m loving coming home to something pretty rather than the dark uninviting entry it was. We had so much fun looking at all the options, deciding on blue or green, seeing all the fixtures and fittings they had selected, choosing handles.
