24.01.2022 UPDATE / $28,200 so far has been raised for The Red Cross through ticket sales to WIN this custom board that I’ve spent over 2 weeks creating. Every single board that I create is special & from the heart, each board tells a story through the lines I hand draw, through the time, energy and love that I pour into each. This board is extra special because each raffle ticket is contributing to help... Australians who have been affected by our bushfires. Each ticket sale is helping to provide supplies that we can often take for granted, basics such as clothing, food, hygiene supplies, to more advanced support through evacuation shelters, housing options and psychological support. All of this is crucial to helping bushfire victims get back on their feet & to back to some kind of normality after the devastating fires that have torn through millions of hectares of Australian land. 24.01.2022 This week I finished the artwork on this 7ft beauty. This board will be displayed in my clients home in Sydney, telling a story for her and her family. The turtle is to represent her Stepdad who sadly passed away, I wanted this to be at the top of the board surrounded by colour and watching down over everyone and everything. The 3 smaller see turtles are for her 3 sons, all swimming together. ... My client Dee is also from #NewZealand so the mountains are a range of 3 mountains from her homeland. The scenery towards the bottom of the board depicts Manly Esplanade, a place in #SydneyAustralia thats special her, the place where she learnt how to surf. A mandala, as seen in some way within all of my artwork, to represent balance and strength. And lastly waves at the bottom of the board anchoring the whole design. Whenever I look at waves, in real life or within my art they have a way of calming me, so this is to bring a relaxed and calming energy into the home. So grateful to be able to work on such sentimental pieces for each of the amazing people that order a custom board for their home. 18.01.2022 It’s been a focus of mine this year to make a conscious effort to balance my time between working on commission pieces for my clients as well as taking time to work on boards and other artwork that are for no one in particular, to freely create whatever comes to my mind. This was one of one those boards, featuring my favourite creature and favourite colours.
