14.01.2022 March 17 Eventing High Performance Squad School done and dusted. We welcomed back Rod Brown and were delighted to have the services of recent Eventing National... High Performance Director and Equestrian NSW High Performance Coach of the Year, Prue Barrett. Together with Amy McGregor, Prue wrangled two days of dressage and jumping coaching at SIEC, including an excellent presentation by Emma Vowles, all about elite athlete performance and bio-mechanics, Most of our riders have some serious work to do, to improve their fitness, flexibility and core strength. Prue then did a cross country analysis session using recent videos from Sydney, Adelaide and Scone. A good few committed to the "team spirit" BBQ, where we solved many problems of the world, both equine and general. Among the squad were two new Equestrian NSW members - Jess Manson and Shenae Lowings, who've re-located from WA and moved in with Prue and Craig, to further their equestrian careers and performances. Welcome Jess and Shenae. We also saw some generational change with Gemma Tinney joining her Dad Stuart on the squad. Recent winners Andy Barnett (Adelaide CCI**) and Jess Rae (2* at the NSW ODE Championship held at Scone) vied for the team player award but Andy took it out with his enthusiastic performance during the flexibility floor work, but also helping to cook the BBQ. It was an eclectic group of high quality horses and riders, but all riders approached the sessions with an open mind and commitment to improve. Pictured are Prue and Rod with Jess Manson, Shenae Lowings, Jess Grossman and Andy Barnett, which means that you almost have to be called Jess to get on the squad.
