24.01.2022 What a start to the day!!! So happy to get up bright & sparky to be on meet & greet duties at the SA Woman Australia Brekky Event today. And to be all matchy matchy I love getting to meet people I only know via Facebook...fancy that! ... But, true to form, I only got in a few photos because I was too busy chatting All that aside - it was brilliant to soak up the marketing and branding knowledge of 3 stellar SA Woman members and epic business women. Thank you Rach from Hopscotch Branding Studio, Amber from Kickstart your marketing and Sally from SweetShute for bringing your A Game today! I walked away with plenty to think about

18.01.2022 Phew! Just like that, we’re back into it after school hols...and we’re back from an epic roadtrip. When I heard the words no restrictions to re-enter SA from NSW, it was on my friend. It. Was. On. And, within a few days, I’d pulled everything together to take my girls via Broken Hill (& The Big Bogan ) to a little town near Orange, to see my parents for the first time in over a year. ... Sooooooo goooodddd!!!! Driving 15 hours myself over 2 & a half days was so worth it - to have monster hugs, to be there for my Dad’s birthday and to absolutely fill our buckets up. And, I was also feeling soooo bloody grateful to a) have my own biz & b) do the work I do. Thanks to an interwebs connection in the motels along the way, I could post for my beautiful clients on Insta and FB. Then, I had the winning combo of my phone, iPad & mum’s clunker laptop to upload blogs & schedule more posts (including some ingenious workarounds as well as remembering passwords eventually ). But, it all got done. Plus, the trip itself was just perfect. Heading north to Broken Hill and across the outback was just stunning. So much variety! Then there’s the beauty of being in so much space & being out of range And, yes! I did spend part of the trip thinking how would I even begin to describe the richness of the earthy hues...the depth of the reds, pinks and ochres that contrasted so perfectly against the vegetation & the purples and blues of the ranges in the distance. Oh & who knew there would be such vibrant bird life out there! Flocks of brilliant green budgies were a definite surprise & highlight. Um, then there was the small matter of seeing a wedge tailed eagle on the side of the road, that stood as tall as my 4yo So, I’ve returned feeling absolutely recharged because I couldn’t have been more in my element! On the topic of travel, here’s a few things you mightn’t know about me that bring the story together... 1. I was born in WA to Victorian parents, but lived in SA since I was 4 (except for a glorious year in Canada), and had many a trip back to Vic to see family. So, it’s why home for me isn’t any particular place, it’s the people I’m with. 2. For the past 6 generations, my family have picked up and started somewhere new...and I’m pretty there’s gypsy in our blood somewhere...because I feel more comfortable on the road than I do at home. (And I’m a better human overall!!) 3. My favourite childhood memories are of us camping (& I was a Girl Guide for years)...so I revel in the simplicity of getting into camping & roadtrip mode. Packing the necessities, cooking on a camp stove, making do with what you r got, and as my Dad reminded me - it’s why my brothers & I all know how to pack a car boot so well! Hooray for road trips, hooray for fabulous clients who celebrated with me about being able to go, hooray for my little peeps who travel so well, and hooray for family time!

16.01.2022 This chat left me grinning from ear to ear! Really excited to be working with Bianca over at Warida Wholistic Wellness. She is such a strong and inspirational woman and I've followed her for ages on FB. I know I'm going to learn so much while I listen. Yay!...

16.01.2022 Oooohhh! I'm so excited to share this! And, to kick off by admitting that yes, when the amazing Jo from Nurturing Words - proofreading, copyediting & transcription contacted me asking for help with her website, I was flattered, yet equally daunted. After all - this lady is the queen of words! ... She's a soon-to-be published author, and knows grammar, punctuation and #alltherules inside and out. And me? Ahem. I bend the rules a wee bit with my writing!! Anyway, it was such a fabulous project to work on. Jo already had all of the words written in her existing copy (and a fantastic story to boot)...it was just a matter of wrangling them! That then allowed Jo to do what she does best - be the objective set of eyes who can scour copy and ensure it's error-free, and that it rocks in terms of consistency, flow and its ability to engage the reader. I also love that I got to be one of the team who brought Jo's website to life, along with epic brand photographer, Kate, of Urban Safari Photography, and talented web designer, Courtney, of the.visual.collective. Not to mention Jo herself. Loved it!

16.01.2022 R U OK? I love this day. Love seeing all of the yellow, the caring, the asking, the opening up. The dropping of walls and breaking down of the stigma of mental health issues. Because as I was told back when I was 20 and did my first weekend workshop on anxiety...you wouldn't look at someone strangely if they had knee or ankle problems. You wouldn't judge them if they'd thrown their back out or had another health condition. ... Our mind and brain are just another part of our body. One part that definitely needs to be cared for. And what's so bloody important is to not treat yourself like you're weak or an idiot if something goes amiss with it. But, absolutely. This isn't a question we just ask today, it's one we ask every day. And, don't you feel like that does happen more & more now? This campaign & others like it create so many ripple effects and it's always brilliant to add to your arsenal with the amount of information, tips and tricks that the amazing team at R U OK Day give out to help ask someone how they're doing...and knowing what to do next. Do yourself a favour and head to their website, it's brilliant. This year, I'm absolutely stoked to say not only am I ok - I'm great. Genuinely great. These last few years have thrown a world of curveballs and challenges my way...moments where I've stood at the very edge of my mind...moments where I questioned if my life mattered...moments where tears just streamed down my face and my whole being was just so bruised...moments of absolute frustration because I just wanted my body to be back to healthy and 'normal' vs depleted and exhausted...and boy does it feel nice to have popped out the other side. For reals. This past month or so I've realised oh, this is what it's like to wake up feeling happy! To not feel weighted, lost, or drained across the day. (And yes, of course I still have a rainbow of emotions - that's life!! We're a family of big emotions with me and my girls. Always feels better to let it out!!) Yet, I know that if I hit the point again on another day where I'm not feeling ok - I'm better at reaching out now. I'm still working on it - losing the belief that I'm imposing...or bringing someone's day down...or that I can just figure it out myself...or my all-time favourite, if I just ignore it, it will go away!!! Because it really does feel better to share it when you're not ok, don't you think? I'm so grateful for my family and closest friends who will always be there for me - rain, hail or shine. Or in the midst of a mental freakin hurricane. For now, though hip hip hooray for sunny skies. On the flipside - if you're not ok currently...I'm always here to listen, via DM, phone or over a cuppa. Xxx

08.01.2022 Bios & socials & blogs...oh my! My head is spinning a little bit with all of the goodness I have to schedule in at the moment. November is going to be one exciting month! Over at SA Woman Australia we are ramping up for the SAW Summit & Awards at the end of the month (grab a ticket if you haven't yet!!), and I'm revelling in my duties as Head of Showcasing...so many incredible women in biz to feature this month!!... I've got other regulars on the go & then to add to that, I had some fabulous chats last week with new clients...which all left me beaming. Cup. Full. And what I love most about it all is what I get to listen to, to learn from and be inspired by. So much more then just putting words on a page! I'm also suuupppeeerrr excited to be doing the Brand Alchemy course this month & soaking up the wisdom of Rachel from Hopscotch Branding Studio. Look at me go actually making time to work on my biz vs in it. Ha! Buuuttt... I'm also so aware of needing to make sure that while I'm doing #allthethings, I'm also making sure there's space in the week and room for rest. Because nowadays, I like to listen the whispers of my adrenals & my body, before I get anywhere near melting point. My girls like it better that way too! Now over to you - what's got you excited about the month ahead?

08.01.2022 It was an SA Woman Australia kind of weekend! Absolutely LOVED being at Adelaide Oval bright & sparky on Friday with 100 fabulous local business women...soaking up the wisdom of Crane Creative, Neha Awasthi & Kara Lambert. Three SAW members who know a whole lot about the world of socials. Aha moments aplenty. It was also just sooooo good to be at an in-person event! The vibe was so uplifting & the SA Woman community were at their vibrant & supportive best.... And I feel extra lucky to not just be a member, but to be part of the SAW Dream Team. It’s such a great gig being Chief Storyteller! It fills my cup up so much doing the socials for SA Woman & being the blog curator, I bloody love getting to meet & showcase so many amazing women. So, I was also in my element being on meet & greet duties...yay for finally seeing so many IRL!!! Made for the perfect lead in to today as well, when I had an epic planning session with SAW’s Founder Carly at She Nurtures HQ. Brain sparks ahoy! Feeling blessed because I work with so many clients I love...and the SAW collective is definitely one of them! Ps, the answer is Yes. Join up as an SAW member! It’s supportive, not salesy & gives you 500+ members around the state to draw upon for advice & connections. The best! www.sawoman.com.au/join
