24.01.2022 Great word building activity made by cutting up paint sample cards. Bright colours, easy to write on and durable enough for kids to use again and again.

22.01.2022 Have just arrived home from doing a mailbox drop around Miners Rest this morning. Hopefully there are some interested people out there to help kick start this tutoring venture.

19.01.2022 Everyday chores are great for building language. My toddler draws pictures on our chook eggs every day and has a chat about them. I don't always label them but this one made me laugh.

16.01.2022 Did you know 'Green Eggs and Ham' was written as a challenge to write a book in 50 words or less. There is maths in books everywhere and looking for it is a great way to put the fun back into Maths and provide a context for numbers. Why not visit the local library?

09.01.2022 Please contact Jess if you are interested in tutoring for your child in and around the Snake Valley area (Haddon, Smythesdale, Linton etc). I am available for tutoring weekdays after 6 pm and can also fit in an early morning session from 7-8 am. If these times do not suit you please ask as I may be able to negotiate sessions at another time. Sessions will be charged at $30-$35 per hour depending on travel.

01.01.2022 Who is tutoring for? Tutoring is for individuals who want to build their confidence. Sometimes our kids feel they must be ‘stupid’ or ‘dumb’ if we mention the word tutor. This is not the case. We all have times in our lives where we come across challenges. A tutor can help a student move through a learning challenge quicker, so that not so much time is spent struggling on alone. ... Perhaps what is needed is a few weeks assistance to catch up on some concepts that have not quite been grasped. Or maybe some help is needed to tackle a research project or weekly homework tasks. A tutor will help your child learn the best way to approach tasks so they move towards being a more independent learner; they will not do the tasks for them.
