24.01.2022 It just takes one step at a time to reach your goals. Break your big goal down in to small achievable bite sized pieces to keep you motivated. You’ll achieve so much along the way and that big goal will be yours in no time.
23.01.2022 Back on home trails today with my little mate Yoda. Thank goodness for some cooler weather so she doesn’t overheat. Still needed a rest break in a fresh puddle
23.01.2022 Days like these make me so happy. Great friends, great trails. Loving life.
22.01.2022 Monday can’t come soon enough. There’s still time to register for 7km in 7 days in 7 ways
22.01.2022 Day 4 of 7 marathons for Bravehearts this week. After waking up this morning thinking it was day 5 we were a little late to getting to Tuggeranong lake. It was such a great day out, again the company was so fantastic, lots of laughs, fun photos amazing people. Half way there now. Yerrabi Pond tomorrow, hopefully we won’t be late
21.01.2022 Fun little rain run with Yoda today. Running in the rain is like time management, exercise and a shower at the same time
21.01.2022 Sundays are for RUNVENTURES. Even if it’s wet, muddy and slippery. So fun. Thanks to my kid for loaning me her unicorn towel for the ride home.
21.01.2022 Today was the day to dig deep. Felt great kicking off then those last 10kms were a killer. So lucky having amazing friends run with me every step of the way. Tough on the dirt, with a little incline, you feel every single rise on day 3. After ice bath, physio, massage and cupping, legs feel so good! Ready to take on lake tuggeranong tomorrow!
20.01.2022 Today was hard. Body did not want to run, brain whinged the whole time. With the first 2km of the 20km run having around 600m elevation, I was cooked early. But, it was worth it to get to the top, it made me realise I’m stronger than I appear, that my girl gang is so incredibly awesome with being patient with me, how lucky we are to live in Canberra with the most breathtaking mountains to explore. My body is still recovering from the 777 Marathons, not every day my body will feel perfect, but my girl gang sure is.
19.01.2022 Morning incline intervals with the Elevate crew. Canberra really is such a beautiful city.
18.01.2022 So great to get to race with people again. The Virtual’s have been amazing and kept my motivation high, but I’ve missed this so much and am so grateful to Weston Creek Athletics Club for putting the event on today. Half marathon done, almost a PB - next time.
17.01.2022 Marathon 6 of 7, I can’t believe tomorrow is the last day! 7 days of marathons is hard, your body hurts but it’s nothing in comparison to the hurt kids feel when someone they trust sexually assaults them. I will do what I can to protect the kids of australia for the rest of my life. Join me in being a children’s champion. Today saw a massive turn out at Red Hill of incredible runners, I got a little excited and went out pretty hard but that didn’t last long. Took a tumble which my right knee copped the brunt of, bit of swelling to contend with tonight. Heaps of fun on the dirt though. Tomorrow is a full lake loop including Parliament House. Going to be a shuffle but it’s worth it for Bravehearts.
15.01.2022 Tuesday runventures finding snow on stockyard spur. So much fun.
12.01.2022 Love the snow runs. Sam is much better at jumping than me
12.01.2022 Marathon 1 of 7 for Bravehearts this week. Collection of pics from the Lake Burley Griffin marathon. Tomorrow is Lake Ginninderra from John Knight Memorial Park at 7am going clockwise.
11.01.2022 I’m excited to announce my nomination for Australian of the Year Award - Local Hero, for my work with Bravehearts. It’s truly humbling to be in this category with some incredibly inspiring people. Recipient of the award will be announced on Monday night with a live stream on Facebook - check out my story for details. Photo from our pyramid session this morning with the elevate Thursday morning crew. How good is Canberra? #ausoftheyear #ReflectRespectCelebrate #wereallpartofthestory
11.01.2022 Woohoo!!! I think people at the lake thought we were crazy with all of our whoop whooping!!
10.01.2022 Best start to the day. 6am elevate MONA fartlek by Lake Burley Griffin. No running photos, just appreciation for how beautiful our city is.
10.01.2022 The finale to the week that was. Marathon 7 of 7 for Bravehearts. Oh wow! My heart is so incredibly full, the support this week has been beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Seeing so many people running their 7km in 7 days across Canberra humbled me to my core. I’m eternally grateful to everyone involved and so privileged to run for Bravehearts. Here’s a collection of some happy snaps from today. Need some time tomorrow to reflect then I’ll post a rundown of the entire week. We did it!!
09.01.2022 Couples that train together stay together. Such a fantastic morning at Mt Keira Wollongong chasing my husbo around on his bike while I ran. Trails were amazing, perfect amount of mud, humidity was 92% which almost killed me, smiles for miles!!
09.01.2022 Mornings done right. Awesome session with the Elevate Crew, incline intervals at Parliament House in the rain. But those new tee vibes were strong, love the new elevate short sleeve tops, so light and comfortable. This will be a regular at events for sure.
08.01.2022 Too good. Gave me such a giggle.
08.01.2022 Different scenery for me today. Hitting north Gong beach with my lovely niece Bridie for some Kms followed by an incredible Savvy stretch session run by the always inspiring Ange. Then it was breakfast followed by more family catch ups. Friday done right
06.01.2022 Rainy Sunday out in the bush with my girl gang. Love running in the rain. Got to teach some of you ladies some navigation skills it’s always fun getting lost. Sunday Runday done right
06.01.2022 A few more throwbacks to the week that was. Still can’t stop smiling.
05.01.2022 Yay for snow runs. Sam sure knows how to jump!
05.01.2022 Day 5 of 7 marathons for Bravehearts at Yerrabi Pond Gungahlin. What a damn good day! So many people came along to run - you’ll recognise a few of the usual suspects. The love this week has been incredible! I can’t thank my fellow crazy runners enough, they’ve kept me sane(ish!) motivated, moving forward, entertained, core in check with all the laughs, fed, watered and I’ve loved every minute. The glue in my days, thank you. Freezing cold wind again today but plenty of places to play. I am loving this journey and helping to keep kids safe from sexual assault is my absolute passion. We have raised $24,444.83 so far to make this happen. Heart is full.
