18.01.2022 SEXUALITY, INTIMACY & SPIRITUALITY Intimacy is the capacity to commit oneself to particular individuals in relationships that last over time, even though those relationships may call for significant sacrifice, compromise and ethical strength. The commitment begins with oneself. Knowing oneself makes it possible to be in an intimate relationship without taking over or losing self to the other. Intimacy, or deep friendship, is knowing another and allowing oneself to be known. T...his applies within marriage, the celibate vocation, and the single life. Intimacy with ones self, is a prerequisite for intimacy with God and with the other. This unit aims to help students explore what psychosexual maturity means and how sexuality, intimacy and spirituality relate in the human person. The unit requires a reflective element in which the student grows in his or her psychosexual awareness. Lecturer: Dr Michael Loughnane Being taught in Semester 2. Open for enrolment for existing students or for audit/professional development. Contact us on [email protected] for further information. http://jcs.edu.au//ds9201j-ds9209j-sexuality-spirituality/

01.01.2022 Madonna, published by the @Australian Jesuits, has accompanied Australians in their daily prayer and spiritual growth for more than 120 years. Many of our JCS students and staff have graced its pages over the years. Despite a great love for the publication by those who read it, subscriber numbers have been falling for many years as younger people move to digital platforms, meaning that at current numbers, print publication is no longer sustainable. Jesuit communications would... love to keep it going - but to do that, need our help. If you are not a subscriber - please do consider taking out a subscription. You may also consider contributing to the publication. If you are a subscriber, we invite you to help keep Madonna alive by: recommending it to family and friends, buying a gift subscription or two or donating one to someone on the margins You can find out more about Madonna, how to subscribe, purchase a gift subscription or donate a subscription here... https://www.madonnamagazine.com.au//love-madonna----share-
