22.01.2022 Its time to celebrate a Champion of our Club. Adele Brand has decided it's time to retire on her terms (with a little help from a virus you might be aware of!) ...Adele finishes her career with the biggest skill repertoire of any gymnast ever at Jets. Adele has performed more E,F & G difficulty skills than anyone who has walked in the door including Khorkina's, Hindorff's, Maloney's, Shaposnikova's, Full Ins, Double Doubles, The Biles, Double Arabians, Produnova's and she was working on a "Brand" which was a clear circle to layout Hindorff !!! To make her career even more remarkable is the extreme injuries Adele had to fight her way back from , 2 dislocated elbows and an ACL in her knee in particular. The bravery Adele showed right through her career was incredible and this is what allowed her to push herself to her absolute limit and get the most out of herself. Adele is the queen of Free Friday - attempting every skill in the book and we're certainly gonna miss her celebrations when she achieved a new skill. She also has the quality of skills to match with her leaps being sky high and perfect split. Not every journey ends with a bag of medals (although Victorian Team member, Border Challenge Champion, Nadia Comaneci medallsist, a USA tour and 2nd in Australia at Level 10 aint half bad !!!) but you can hold your head high knowing you gave it everything Adele. Adele received amazing family support too, initially her mum would drive almost 3 hours per day from Stawell to Ballarat and when the Ballarat competitive program closed down Adele moved to Jets and her parents and brother moved from Stawell first to Melton (where they would still drive over 2 hours a day !!) before moving to Greensborough to support her on this journey. Adele also had great coaching from Janet Howe at Ballarat who mentored and inspired her early career. We hope you too might do some more coaching in the future Adele - you've got so much to offer the future generations of gymnasts you've inspired :) Congratulations Adele - here's a little video of your career :) P.s - thanks Kirsty for the 1500 videos and photos !!!
