22.01.2022 Update #1 Well Jett is out of the operating theater and back to recovery. The operation lasted about 5 hours and the Drs seem pleased with how it went. The tumor has been sent off to pathology for testing. Theyre hoping to see the results by Friday this week. Once the results are in well have a better understanding of what his next options are for his recovery plan. Traecy joined Jett in recovery where his first question was, did the Drs say when I can ride again? Foll...owed by a statement, let Uncle Danny know.....with a pause... even though they shaved part of my hair off Ive still got more than him! Obviously it didnt harm his humour area. Over the next few days we should be able to see if he has any balance, vision and co-ordination issues. The ASRs will have more information later today. We can only be thankful that they found it very early due to a precautionary scan after a crash. This enabled us to have the Drs advise and monitor him over the last 2 years. Some people are not so lucky. Wed like to thank everyone for the messages of love and best wishes. No doubt once Jett is up and about he will personally thank you also. 20.01.2022 From Jett’s Instagram...... It’s been a big week......... Around 18 months ago after crashing at Ride Park I found out I had a pea sized brain tumour. Since then I have had 3 monthly MRI’s to monitor the tumour. The last time I saw the Doctor they said it’s now grape size and I need an operation to take it out. On Monday I was admitted to the Royal Hobart Hospital and had a craniotomy. They took out a piece of my skull a bit bigger than a 50c piece and removed the tumour. I h...ave since had an MRI and they think they have removed all of the tumour. I am off school for the next 6 weeks while I have rehab and get back to normal. I want to give a big shout out to the people in my corner, especially my Mum, Uncle Danny and LaRae, Steve, @mac.mx22, @gctrewin and all the people who sent messages of support, we all appreciate it. Also, a massive thanks to my surgeon, the doctors, nurses and all the people who make the hospital tick. 18.01.2022 Gday everyone. Its Jetts Uncle. Im not a big poster on social media but Id like to just ask everyone to keep Jett in their thoughts today as he under goes brain surgery to remove a tumor that has progressively gotten larger over the last 2 years. Jett was diagnosed with the tumor and has been monitored closely for the last 2 years. His Drs have been very supportive of his selected sport and have been advising during this time. 2 weeks ago they deemed it was growing to a...ggressively to continue to only monitor and it should be removed. He had his last race yesterday in a relaxing 2 hour enduro, not MX, but some seat time. He wasnt to impressed but still a heap of fun. Jettie is extremely thankful for all of his sponsors that have supported his progression over the last few years. Hed like to personally thank Tam from the KTM Australian Junior MX Racing Team for guiding and supporting him during this time. Jett is looking forward to a positive outcome from his surgery and is hoping to be back with his friends, family and sponsors in the coming months. There is no indication what the outcome could be but hes keen to be back riding once given the clearance from his doctors. Once back on his bike he looks forward to the continued support from his sponsors and the MX community in general. Well keep you all informed of his progress over the next few days and weeks. 04.01.2022 Update #2 Good news so far.....Jett had a MRI and the surgeon feels sure they have removed all the tumour. Jett's balance was assessed by the physio and she was pleased enough to send him home a little early. So happy to be home in our own beds. We will not find out the pathology results as Jett is not in hospital today. They did not want us to come in and the results not be available so we will find those out next Friday in one of many outpatient clinic appointments. ... Jett is especially happy about not having to go to school for 6 weeks. During this time he will start rehab and the journey to what will hopefully be a full recovery. We have been so grateful to all those people that kept us in your thoughts and took the time to message, comment and send us your love. The shear volume of messages and posts has been overwhelming and we appreciate ever single one of them. Sorry we have not answered you all directly, but rest assured Jett has read all of the comments and is feeling the love.
