23.01.2022 7 Tips to help you reach your New Years fitness goals - Part Celebrate your successes Set rewards for achieving certain milestones along the way. It's important to also not be too hard on yourself if you deviate from the plan or slip back into old habits. Use it as a learning experience, Why did the slip up occur? Was it in your control or outside of your control? Don't dwell on it too much and get back on track and be in the right mindset to keep moving forward.... Life throws us unexpected challenges, 2020 has been a great example of an unexpected challenge. But life doesn't stop, we found new ways to workout, we adapted to new ways to do work, we may have had to go outside our comfort zone and do something we've never done before, but in the end I think we have learnt a lot from being in a situation which was really out of our control. We adapt, we learn, we move forward and still progress towards our goals. The biggest message is that there can be a positive from a negative. It's just on us whether we look for it or not. Whether you join us here at Jetts or whatever it may be in 2021, we hope this information helps you on your journey. Just get a start, find your passion, set your goals, and go get em. #jetts #jettslife #goalsetting #goals #fitness #fitnessblogger #fitnessjourney #jettsaustralia #2021

16.01.2022 As per the recent QLD Government update, all members are required to wear a mask when entering the gym and only remove it if engaging in strenuous physical activity. This directive is in place until 1am, 22 January. Thanks for all your support as we work together to keep everyone safe. See you in the gym!

16.01.2022 7 Tips to help you reach your New Years fitness goals part Get support from others Joining a gym with a friend can really help you both in achieving your goals. It's always more difficult to cancel a class or miss a gym once your committed to go with them. It's also harder to forget your goals when you've told your friends/partner/personal trainer about them. By talking with others its easier to get that support and help just when you might need it and you may find those w...ho have the same or similar goals as you. There is always strength in numbers, find those and you can all commit together to achieve success in 2021 and beyond. Keep a fitness tracker You’ve written down your fitness habits, you’ve got your plan - now it’s time to keep track of what you’re doing. This is always a good way to really see how really are tracking towards your goals. Did you lift 10kg for the first time? Plank for the longest you’ve ever planked? Run the longest you’ve ever run? Write it down. By doing this, you can keep checking back that you are still on schedule to achieve what you set out to do. A fitness diary is great to have whether its physical where you write it down or online with your phone on an app. It's important to note down what's happening so if things start to not go so well, you can see and make changes and tweaks to get you back on track. Think outside the box If you’re struggling to reach your fitness goals, could there be another reason? There isn’t enough emphasis on how beneficial and how great sleep is for you, Arnold said. Sleep is a large part of being and staying healthy, and allowing your body to recover. Sleep controls your immune system, ageing process and metabolism. One night of bad or no sleep can have a major affect on your body, your mental health and your mood. I recommend at least seven hours sleep, where you will notice a difference in your energy levels and how your body functions.

13.01.2022 Safe to say we know someone or yourself is thinking about setting their fitness goals for 2021. Some of you might be considering joining us here at Jetts, some of you might be looking at a Marathon or Triathlon. But how do you make these resolutions last past the second weekend in February? It’s all well and good setting the goals, but here are seven tips to help you reach them. Get out of the rut ... What fitness habits do you have that you wish you could break? Do you go home after work and fail to muster up the energy to get back out to the gym? Do you always workout on the weekend but struggle to get active in the week? Start making a list of the habits you want to break and create yourself the mini goals. Once you’ve completed this, put the list in order of priority and understand that some may be linked together. This is important for understanding the overall expectations and the impact one goal may have on another. As you've heard a million times before make sure these goals and habits are realistic. Know your motivation Knowing your "Why" is such an important part of setting these goals. It helps you dig deep and want to keep going. Don’t just say I want to lose weight. Here’s an example of going deep on your why: Why do I want to lose weight? Because I want to feel good. What does feeling good mean to me? It means I will be comfortable in my own skin. Why is it important to me to feel comfortable and confident? I want to show myself that I am good enough. Make a plan Make a plan that is achievable and not over-reaching. One of the main reasons people fail to sustain their behaviour change is because they attempt to change too much at once and don’t have a plan on how to do it. Short term small goals (daily or weekly) are easier to sustain than individual large goals (monthly or quarterly) It doesn’t happen overnight be patient, don’t beat yourself up if you struggle along the way. It’s all a part of the process. Continued on post 2.
