25.01.2022 DEADLIFTS The deadlift is as functional as it gets; pick something up from the floor, then put it back down from where you got it! Incorporating deadlifts one or two days a week into a weight training session will develop strength in the hamstrings, glutes, lower back and upper back. It doesnt need to be heavy, just start by teaching your body to move with tension and control. It takes years to master this movement, so dont be afraid to reach out to a Team Member if you feel you need a little more guidance.

22.01.2022 Ingredients 170g Boneless skinless Chicken breast tsp salt 2 pinches pepper Olive oil cooking spray... Whole wheat tortilla (or gluten free tortilla) 3 tbsp pesto cup Broccoli florets (small) cup Sundried tomato (thin sliced) cup Asparagus (cut into 2cm pieces) 1/4 cup Aged white Cheddar Vegan Option: Use Tempeh instead of chicken. Directions 1. Season chicken with salt and pepper and then saute chicken breast. Set aside. Preheat oven at 200C. 2. Lightly coat a baking sheet with spray and place the tortilla shell on the tray. Spread the pesto base evenly around the shell leaving the outside inch free for the crust. 3. Combine all other ingredients except for the cheese in a mixing bowl and toss until mixed together. Spread evenly covering the pesto. Top with cheese and bake until cheese is melted and shell is lightly toasted (about 10 minutes). Variations and options For a flavor variety try using Hummus, Sundried Tomato Tzatziki or Rosemary. * Eggplant as a substitute for the pesto. * Use seasonal vegetables whenever possible as they not only taste better but have a healthier nutritional profile. * For a cheesy variety, try using mozzarella, feta, havarti or Swiss instead of cheddar. * Be aware of adding too much cheese at this point in the challenge, remember your portion sizes.

17.01.2022 THAI BASIL CHICKEN 1. Heat the oil in the wok over high heat and add the chopped onion. 2. Add the garlic and cook for one minute. 3. Toss the chicken in cornstarch and add to the wok.... 4. Once the chicken is almost cooked through, add the chopped chile, curry paste, sherry, fish sauce, and brown sugar. 5. Whisk in the chicken stock and cook until the sauce is slightly thickened. 6. Stir in the basil and serve. Tips for success * The bite-size chunks of chicken are lightly coated in corn starch which creates a velvety sauce. The corn starch also helps to thicken the sauce. * This recipe calls for holy basil which has a sharper, more powerful flavor than regular Thai or Italian basil, but its often hard to come by. No worries if you cant find it; Thai or Italian basilare excellent substitutes. * Have all of your ingredients prepped before you start as this recipe comes together quickly. * Use high heat when cooking with the wok. Just be sure to stir frequently. Thai basil chicken is spicy, sweet, and savory and oh so easy!

13.01.2022 EFFECTS OF STRESS ON THE BODY Its normal to feel stressed sometimes, but if you always feel under-the-pump it can have a really negative impact on your mind and body. This is because stress is supposed to be a short-term response to danger and not a constant state of being. If you know the signs that youre experiencing stress, youll be better placed to keep it under control. Is stress always bad? Feeling stressed can be normal, healthy and helpful depending on the situat...ion. Stress is the fight-or-flight response that gets you through job interviews, impromptu speeches and those awkward encounters with your ex. In these situations, stress helps you to overcome a short-term challenge that you know you can handle. Its only a problem when its constant or the situation is out of your control. At times like these, its important to know how to cope with stress. Read more at https://jettsathome.jetts.com.au//effects-of-stress-on-the

12.01.2022 It doesn’t get more fundamental than a box squat. Box squatting is arguably one of the best movements for your body and a movement we use almost every day sitting up and out of our chair, toilet or under a barbell and it's something we need to practice. Not only does box squatting carry over into a lot of other movements in your workout, but it's also helps with muscle growth in your lower body and nervous system development. In short, having a box under your squat means you can't rely on momentum to lift or lower your squat. This means you have to generate a lot of power and all of a sudden. This is good news for your muscles and nervous system and one of just one of many reasons why box squatting is so highly recommended. #jetts #jettslife #jettsfitness

12.01.2022 These are emotionally challenging times for all of us. One of the ways we can look after our mental health is to make sure we are as physically healthy as we can be. Regular exercise plays a huge role in keeping us mentally wellit releases feel-good chemicals like dopamine, endorphins and serotonin, helping to improve mood and reduce stress. And while our usual methods of physical activity may be temporarily unavailable there are still ways to stay active. If you usually g...o to the gym, try adapting your workout for home or use one of the many free exercise classes online. Walking is also a great way to reduce stress and anxiety, stay fit and boost our immune system so were less susceptible to infections. Provided you practice physical distancing and stay the appropriate distance apart from other people, a brisk daily walk is good for the body and mind. Any activity is better than none. The World Health Organisation recommends 150 minutes of moderate-intensity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity physical activity per week, or a combination of both. And in these unusual times, you might want to get creative with how you stay active; dance to your favourite songs in your lounge room, climb stairs or spend more time playing with pets or children. You can also reduce your sedentary time by standing up whenever possible aim to interrupt sitting time every 30 minutes. You might want to practice yoga and pilates using one of the many free online classes, or download a meditation or deep breathing app to help you stay grounded. 10.01.2022 GYM-Timidation Theres no doubt that the gym can be an intimidating place when you dont feel as though you belong. If the vision of super-fit gym junkies pumping their reps out double your body weight is overwhelming. Youre not alone! Gym anxiety is an obstacle that many have to leap over when they first start going to the gym. The best thing is to not let it consume you and hold you back from your health and fitness goals. Here are five ways to conquer that fear and train ...with confidence in no time! #1 IDENTIFY YOUR FEARS The first step to overcome your fears is to recognise where theyre coming from. From here you can create strategies to address these worries. Some common concerns from people experiencing gym anxiety are - * Uncertainty about how to train or use equipment * Comparing themselves to others * Felling like theyre being judged * Not feeling fit enough to belong Try acknowledging those worrisome thoughts when they run through your mind. Its ok to feel those feelings but try and find logical solutions for each worry and youll be able to calm yourself down. #2 AVOID PEAK HOURS Going to the gym may leave you feeling vulnerable to the judgement of others, so bring a friend along with you! The company will distract you as well as give you more confidence by being with a gym buddy that can show you the ropes and keep you accountable. #3 PLAN YOUR WORKOUTS Dont go to the gym blind. So many times I see newbies come in to train blind and the first thing they head for is the treadmill. Plan out a little program and have it on your phone or memorise it! This will help keep you focused on your current exercise and what youre doing next. Trying with a PT is also a great way to get started - you get guidance and also a gym buddy in one!

09.01.2022 Its true when we say plants make people happy. Plants Against Pollution Pollution levels on the planet earth are on the rise. If you live in a busy, dense city, you encounter pollution everyday. It wreaks havoc on our skin, our hair and most of all, the air we breathe. Pollution is not just outside. Its in the places we call work and home.... Sick Building Syndrome is a term used to describe symptoms experienced by otherwise healthy people working in large commercial buildings -- think sudden allergies; irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat; headache, dizziness, and fatigue; respiratory and sinus congestion; and nervous system disorders. In 1989, Dr. Bill Wolverton, a leading scientist in NASAs Clean Air Study revealed, when the building occupants are away for a given time, the symptoms usually diminish, only to recur upon re-entry into the building. The cause? Indoor air pollution. Indoor air pollution is generally a consequence of toxic emissions from synthetic building materials, airborne mold, viruses, and pollutants, along with energy efficient construction, like making spaces as airtight as possible, which reduces the air circulation. These contributors release toxin emissions such as benzene, formaldehyde, trichloroethylene, xylene and toluene. Gross, right? Its not just big commercial buildings either. These compounds can be found in almost every home. Not great news when the Environmental Protection Agency estimates Americans spend approximately 90 percent of their time indoors. Most wall paints, rubbers, vinyl, laminates, computer parts and plastics all break down over time and release compounds into the air we breathe. The good news is, we can improve our indoor air quality with plants. Plants absorb harmful toxins, breaking them down into gentle byproducts, and storing them in their soil to use later for food. Back to Nature When you feel a little low, its amazing how a walk in the park can do wonders. Thats because when we get in touch with nature, we reduce mental fatigue and stress, while increasing relaxation and self-esteem. Even brief exposure to nature has been shown to make us more altruistic and cooperative. This study sho

03.01.2022 You know the feeling: One salty crunch turns into 100, and suddenly youre licking the bottom of a chippy packet and wondering: whats wrong with me? Actually, itsnormalto feel like you cant stop overeating certain things. Todays hyper-palatable food is creating a modern day food crisisone thats leaving us feeling sick, out of control, and constantly craving more. Its happened to us all: after a frenzy of lustful grabbing and furious crunching, we find ourselves at... the bottom of a jumbo bag of chips. How did that happen? we ask fuzzily. Whats wrong with me? Why cant I stop? But, before going into full-fledged self-loathing mode, consider this. Processed foods are scientifically engineered to be irresistible and easy to gobble up in large quantities. If you cant stop, the chips are doing their job. Thats why, in this article, well explain exactly how junk food is designed to make us respond with compulsive, manic, gotta-have-more snack sessions. Even healthy eaters feel out of control around food sometimes. Even if we value nutrition and want to take care of ourselves, some foods can make us feel kinda possessed. Know what I mean? You show up to a potluck with quinoa salad goals and find yourself inhaling a plate of chips, cookies, and some chocolate-peanut-butter-marshmallow thing that some devil, umfriend, made. You reach into the freezer to haveone spoonfulof ice cream and suddenly youre mining the caramel swirl, then the nut clusters, then the brownie chunks, and then your spoon scrapes the bottom. You just wanta biteof your friends french fry, but you find yourself elbowing her out of the way so you can stealallthe fries, plus the burger too. Even with the best intentions, the pull of certain foods is so strong that it can leave us feeling powerless. If youve felt this, youre not alone (and youre not broken) Read full article at - https://jettsathome.jetts.com.au//manufactured-deliciousne
