Signing up for a gym membership is one of the best ... possible steps you can take in improving your overall fitness and well being. Unfortunately, many people are kept out of the gym by their own nerves and insecurities. Whether you're afraid of people staring, or of not knowing what to do, here's a some tips to overcoming those gym nerves. Remember that literally everybody else in the place had to start somewhere Remember that everybody has their insecurities they're working on, just like you Don't compare yourself to others, only compare yourself to your previous self Inspirational/motivational music about kicking ass Tell yourself that nobody's looking at you or that you're invisible (hard to reconcile with looking at everybody else yourself, but very liberating if you can get past that) You don't need confidence to go you will get it by going Don’t hesitate to ask for advice from people around you and/or speak to the gym instructors. 11.01.2022 Monday Motivation I bet you weighed yourself this morning. Did you like the number you saw, or were you expecting something lower? ... Did you get overly excited if it was low or unreasonably depressed if it was too high? We’ve all been there, so don’t beat yourself up too much. Seriously, quit hitting yourself! If we allow a number to affect how we feel about ourselves we don’t allow ourselves to be present in our bodies. We shut down our awareness of how our body feels. We disconnect from ourselves and let a number tell us what to feel. Fluctuations are a normal part of life with our bodies. Let’s not obsess over every one of them. We end a love affair with our scale the same way we would with any relationship. * Realise the cons outweigh the pros. * Realise the relationship no longer serves you. * Realise it’s unhealthy and doesn’t lead to joy. * Realise you are more than a number. * Desire freedom and true awareness of your body. And then... STOP IT. Stop weighing yourself every day. Stop cold turkey or stop with baby steps. Try it for yourself. Take a breath. GO.

When we are younger we were taught that in order to keep our teeth healthy and prevent our breath from clearing out a room we needed to brush our teeth everyday and we got told this multiple times a day. While most people may fight this, eventually this becomes a habit that we don't think twice about. ? I don't mean just part of your warm... ups but true mobility training that keeps our joints healthy! What if we dedicated even 5 minutes a day to it until it becomes a habit we never miss! Just like brushing your teeth it does not need to be done for long periods of time. Just a few minutes a couple of times a day can lead to HUGE long term changes. . So if you have back, shoulder, or knee pain or stiffness or you want to remain active as you age, you should start "BRUSHING YOUR BODY" as often as you brush your teeth. See more
