This girl is on fire Check out her awesome story below ... I joined the gym in January because I decided to go on yet another 'health kick'. I did the typical cycle and gave up. Started properly coming from the start of March because my mind set changed completely. Since March I have lost 20kg. I have a whole new outlook on health and the weight loss journey. I have achieved so much more self confidence. The biggest thing was changing my mindset. When I joined the 8 week challenge I had goals but decided it was about the long run not just these 8 weeks. 03.01.2022 Do this stretch before your next upper body workout Free Stretch Class 5pm Thursday’s! Because we spend so much time in front of screens (especially working from home) it’s more than likely that you’ll encounter an episode of back pain. One of the reasons people experience chronic pain is due to lack of mobility. Mobility isn't just about flexibility you can be flexible, but still lack the strength to move to full range of motion. Here’s how to perform the Open Bo...ok Stretch: Lay on your side with your knees bent at 90 degrees. Breathe in as you move your top arm across your body and turn your head and shoulders with it, keeping your knees firmly placed on the floor. Breathe out as you hold the stretch for around ten to fifteen seconds, then return to the start and repeat 10 times. You should feel a pretty decent (but pleasant) stretch throughout your upper body. Keeping your abs activated when you perform this will be important for lower back stability and this stretch is an important primer for upper-body movement, especially exercises such as the overhead press, where many people tend to extend at the lower back to compensate for their lack of thoracic and shoulder mobility. If you’re new to stretching in general, begin slowly never force a stretch! Start by holding each stretch for 20 to 30 seconds and don’t forget to b r e a t h e. If you’re not sure how to stretch safely, if you’ve had surgery or an injury, or have pain in your lower body, chat to a Jetts Team Member before doing any glute stretches. #jetts #jettsathome #stretching

02.01.2022 How to Deadlift Have a look at Jacob going through 3 types of deadlifting technique: Conventional, Sumo and RDL (Romanian Deadlift) Save this post to check your form! ... Conventional deadlift- To setup for a con DL you firstly put your feet under the bar so that your shin is about 2cm away from the bar. Secondly line your feet up with your hips. Thirdly find a comfortable grip for yourself so that your hand doesn’t interfere with your legs while pulling. Once you’ve found your grip and stance lower you butt and straighten your back you aren’t squatting the weight up your using your posterior chain. This include your hamstrings, glutes, lower and upper back. Your body should work as a pulley system and you shouldn’t feel uncomfortable or in pain while attempting to lift the weight. Also make sure you brace at the bottom and exhale after each rep. And repeat

01.01.2022 Lat Pulldown Technique Here are some points to follow when using the Lat Pulldown Machine to get the most out of the Exercise. Do: -Select the correct weight!... -Squeeze shoulder blades, pull back shoulders and engage Latissimus Dorsi (Lats) before pulling bar down to your collar bone -Keep your chest up but rib cage down to help engage your core Don’t: -Pull with arms first- this is a back exercise not an arm one -Don’t look down and don’t roll shoulders forward -Don’t lift off the seat- if you are, it’s too heavy! - Don’t pull the bar to your face or below your collar bone -Don’t stick your neck forward if you pull down behind the head- just don’t! This is an awesome exercise but one we see not used incorrectly from time to time.
