25.01.2022 A delightful custom make, created from the clients Rubies, Diamonds and Gold.

24.01.2022 Wait for theflash . The guys have been enjoying a fancy new argon precision micro-welder in the Workshop. It allows for miniscule soldering work in intricate and tricky areas, perfect for repairs and manufacturing. Thanks for being the hand model @danwatsonjewellery

24.01.2022 Minor modifications can make a major difference. All it took here was the changing of a setting, from claw to rubover, for a whole new look.

23.01.2022 The lead up to Christmas is always crazy, but the resizes and repairs are still being churned out.

23.01.2022 18ct gold band snuggles up so nicely with diamonds, hot off the bench. #ManufacturingJeweller #MadeInHouse #JRS

23.01.2022 Nothing beats handmade links

22.01.2022 The animal theme was strong last week. A pair of earrings made from the pointy bits on a crab. You know, the bits you grab on top of the shell to avoid getting pinched? Turns out they make fabulous looking drop earrings. Who knew

22.01.2022 More often than not, the people behind the pieces are more fascinating than the gold and precious stones. These two fingerprint pendants now belong to a couple who have been married for over 60yrs (the jeweller belives they were coming up on their 70th anniversary, but he could be wrong) and they still hold each others hands everywhere they go. It is seriously the sweetest thing to behold. Jody took copies of their fingerprints before designing the pendant to display a fingerprint on the front with their handwriting on the back. The gold and sapphires were fossicked and cut by the gentleman, making each pendant extra special.

22.01.2022 The lengths Jody and Dan will go to source quality tools is ridiculous. These bad boys (Dividers is the technical term apparently) assist with marking out lines perfectly on jewellery. And apparently having only the perfect tools will do. The story of how they made their way to the Workshop involves transport via NZ from Toronto and California, after issues with interstate postage. But before all that, they searched the world over, and contacted the original designer directl...y and the training facility that had trademarked them, getting repeatedly knocked back, before finally locating two privately owned specimens in separate countries. The story may be priceless, but I don't even want to know how much postage it cost to get them here in the end. One thing is for certain, these Jewellers are obsessed with using the best quality equipment. See more

22.01.2022 An antique matchbox case, dressed up a little with a Rose Gold inlay. These are just the dreamiest of antique pieces and so fun to add highlights to before polishing it all up.

21.01.2022 The Workshop will be closed for 2 weeks so we can move into our new premises. The new workshop is only a few doors down so I will be available for the collectio...n of any jobs that are already complete at our current location but please message me or ring me prior to coming down so I can make sure I am available. For any urgent repairs and resizes I will still be able to get this done but will need to be booked in with me in advanced. Thanks for your understanding Dan 0423322393 See more

20.01.2022 It's always quicker to call/message the Jeweller directly on 0402311119. Social media platforms & messaging apps don't get checked regularly for communication. Because Life. (Life is code for Jody working 12hr+ days getting the new shop up and running, the narrator working fulltime & studying and both raising a brood of girls. Yep, Life).

18.01.2022 The same ring design, yet a world of difference when choosing between bezel or claw settings. This one will be made with the bezel settings for a client, however there's only good options to choose from here

17.01.2022 Smokin' repair to a locket bow.

15.01.2022 Onyx and Diamond making an adorable combination. #ManufacturingJeweller #JRS #MadeInHouse

15.01.2022 First day grins. And there's already a helmet on display. Soon there'll be a bike trainer set up somewhere and motogp on repeat...Jewellery Workshop, what Jewellery Workshop?

15.01.2022 Neat & tidy hinge repair makes this bangle wearable once more.

14.01.2022 Lè Petit Dèbut - The Workshop, located at 55A Bourbong Street - Opening Monday 23 November 2020. There may be a few little interruptions during the week due to some improvements that have yet to be completed, but the guys have a functional workshop and will be hitting their benches at full steam.

14.01.2022 These are simply bounding away into unique coin pendants.

14.01.2022 A remodel with heart and soul. The client had his favourite ring sawn in two and then joined with the gold from his father's wedding band.

13.01.2022 Pendants made from Australian Threepence, circa 1944. Note the copper inclusion peeking through the edge of one. Fun fact: During WWII Australian coin minting was supplemented by overseas mints. Some 1944 coins were produced in San Francisco, Denver and London.

13.01.2022 Originally a pendant, with the setting modified into a glam ring. When you manufacture, you can modify with ease.

12.01.2022 The Workshop had two wonderful helpers in today who found cleaning the windows and removing layers of sticky tape residue "so satisfying". What's school holidays without "working" in the family business?.

11.01.2022 Impersonating our main man. Her Halloween make-up did the trick and his specs perfected the look

11.01.2022 Trophy repairs are not uncommon in the Workshop. One had the base modified to trim off damaged Bakelite. The other had a handle reattached completely. Both were shined up with a polish after the repairs, all ready for a new season.

10.01.2022 A fresh Morganite custom make, all the dazzling facets agleam.

10.01.2022 It's amazing what a day's hard work can do. Although, Jody's crammed in a day and a half worth of work, starting at 4am this morning and jumping back and forth between coats of paint and jewellery repairs and makes until 5.30pm. There's still a fair bit of painting, cleaning, construction and workbench setup building to go and the guys don't have an ETA on the actual opening, so please be patient with how erratic contact may be over the next fews days.

10.01.2022 Shades of blue, with settings freshly made in the Workshop.

09.01.2022 Renovations are up and running in the Workshop's new space. A whole lot of cleaning took place today and the painting gear has been picked up. Curiously, the fellas have gone with a main colour that, according to the paint shop, is mainly purchased by night clubs. Although it's going to be chased by a gold accent, which will hopefully prevent people from getting the Workshop mixed up with the night scene. Watch this space.

08.01.2022 A recently modified pendant, now including special names and a little sparkle.

08.01.2022 A cute daisy make, created with 9ct gold and diamonds.

07.01.2022 A quick clean and polish of a Japanese coin pendant has brought out a deep gleam. A google translation of the Japenese characters leads to the conclusion that it references Emperor Taishó who was the 123rd Emperor of Japan.

06.01.2022 Merry Christmas From Jody & Emma

06.01.2022 Can do Those tricky little resizes which require repeating patterns to be replicated.

06.01.2022 Sterling silver gents ring, finished with a matte grey patina, as per the clients request. N.B. the lighter patches are from lights being reflected in the high sheen and, not dodgy workmanship Dodgy doesn't get a look in around here.

05.01.2022 Hot off the Workbench, a personalised band, with diamonds accentuating the sentiment.

05.01.2022 White opal making a luminescent trilogy of pendants, with handcrafted settings and bales in 9ct gold.

04.01.2022 The new staff, working on their customer service skills, inspired by those impeccable assistants, Trude & Prue. And yes, the accents were totally necessary.

02.01.2022 Heads up - The Workshop will be closed this Friday 25th September as Jody celebrates the birthday of the other bossy-pants woman in his life, who's turning a huge 8 years old. He'll return to the bench Monday 28th September

01.01.2022 This is why we say bring your imagination to the Workshop. Yellow Sapphire, Blue Sapphire and Diamonds in White Gold. The stones were special to the client and Jody used the clients own gold to create a unique ring of memories.
