15.01.2022 Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome back to what will be another exciting term. Whilst many plans were in place to resume a level of normality following the initial complexities of COVID-19, due to recent spikes, some of the modified practices put in operation last term will continue for the time being. * Parents and carers are still not permitted on school site for drop off or pick-ups * Parents are required to provide the school with ample notice of late arrival/early pick-up... so that arrangements can be made to support the child entering/leaving the school * Parents may only be on site when attending essential meetings (disciplinary/well being matters or collecting an injured/sick child) * P&C meetings will need to revert to an online process, as the school is discouraged from having a number of non-essential adults on school site * P&C canteen may be operational, however volunteers providing such service must complete a daily visitor acknowledgement form at the office * SRE volunteers may attend, however the grouping of students will be minimised * No whole school assemblies Please note that the following activities are on hold until further notice: * Parent teacher face-to-face interviews * Kindergarten Orientation * School excursions/camps * Parent/carer volunteers in classes (canteen volunteers permitted) * Working bees, sports events, fundraisers, school BBQs, information evenings The following processes will revert back to normal: * Students will assemble under the COLA directly after the morning bell has rung for a PBL briefing, presentation of awards and overview of the day * Normal lunch and recess times will resume along with playground activities. Once the bell rings to signal the conclusion, all students will walk to their class to resume lessons I hope that each of you have had a safe and relaxing break. Please remain resilient and flexible in working with the school. Regards, Barry Croft

04.01.2022 JERSEY DAY OUT OF UNIFORM Dear Parents/Caregivers, On Friday 4th September, Jewells PS students are invited to wear their favourite sporting jersey (or come out of uniform) to support the DONATE LIFE network and begin the conversation with their friends and family about Organ Donation.... Jersey Day has been inspired by the story of Nathan Gremmo, who tragically lost his life in an accident in May 2015. Nathan’s family chose to give the gift of life to others to honour the legacy of Nathan’s generous personality. This campaign is all about raising awareness- there is no fundraising attached to this, so it is no cost for students to come out of uniform. Simply wear your favourite sporting jersey (or colours) to school this Friday and begin the conversation with your friends and family about organ donation. Regards, Mrs Mansfield and Mr Gray
